Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @Layton

Well, both are likely to get fourth seasons for syndication purposes, but I was talking about actual merit.

Were you suggesting that REV could get a shorter order for season three?! If Revenge is renewed for less than 22 episodes next season, I will be utterly shocked.

  • Chris

The golf run over on CBS was just 3 or 4 minutes (Eastern and Central Time Zones cut off the end of the Northern Trust Open and it concluded on Golf Channel; CBS stations in the Mountain, Pacific, Alaska, and Hawaii Time Zones continued to the end), so those numbers for 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, The Good Wife, and The Mentalist should be accurate, if not within a tenth.

  • cimmer

@Layton, Fox and Fringe are not good examples. I’ve always believed that Fox often makes decisions more like a cable network than a broadcast network (Dollhouse is another example and of course Joss). If OUAT were on Fox (although I think it’s too warm and fuzzy for Fox, it would need more of an edge lol) than yes, syndication might be seen as a ‘sure thing’, but I don’t think it’s an automatic with ABC, not in the lower 2′s.

    @brutony

“Max should meet the same fate as Amanda-spoiler alert!”

That was evil but i love it hahaha. :)
    The perfect REVENGE hahaha. :)

  • Vcoolwater

OUAT is still third highest drama on ABC. It is no danger of cancellation this season. As for the future who knows.

Except for Greys and Scandal. All of ABCs other dramas have been flops. Except for Shield, next season doesn’t look too promising.

Revenge will also get renewed for next season. Most likely moved to a new time slot.

OUAT is still third highest drama on ABC

Second. Revenge is third. Scandal fourth.

Except for Shield, next season doesn’t look too promising.

    Venice?

Except for Greys and Scandal. All of ABCs other dramas have been flops.

    Nonsense.

Revenge will also get renewed for next season. Most likely moved to a new time slot.

Hardly ever does a show get moved twice in two years. Heck, even Body of Proof, which just barely got renewed, got to keep its time slot…

  • Rebecca

Great ep of OUAT last night…hope the ratings improve and the plot stays exciting. Only other things I watched were AFV and Downtown Abbey’s season finale (worth staying up late for). Now I’ll go stream Bob’s Burgers.

  • aciel

    @brutony
lol perhaps give emily a call so she could take him down. maybe olivia pope could fix max

  • Cory

Amazing Race, while down a smidge from last year, is tied for number one show of the night. Has that ever happened on a Sunday before? I’m cautiously optimistic for the show’s chances. Been my favorite show ever, and would love to see it continue for many more years. Last night’s premiere was ok but not great.

  • omabin

As I have been saying for some weeks now, the best thing for ABC to do IMO:

    Sunday (Fall and Spring/Winter
Once Upon a Time/ Winter Wipeout
    DWTS/ The Taste
    DWTS/ Celebrity Wife Swap

    Monday (Fall and Spring/Winter)
    DWTS Results/ The Bachelor
    Revenge/ The Bachelor
    Castle

  • rob60990

DWTS can’t air on Sundays anyways because Len & Bruno can’t do it.

  • Ron

@SJ actually ever since OUAT and Revenge have been taking these frequent breaks,Scandal is Abc 2nd Highest rated drama,Then OUAT and Lastly Revenge. If you need back up i will happily show you

  • rob60990

@Ron, SJ & others are going by this whole year, not just a month of ratings. On average, Once Upon a Time & Revenge are still doing better than Scandal. Revenge also has the benefit that ABC does not air reruns of the show in its timeslot.

  • Dorothy

Ron. Shes not talking about the last 3 episodes. Shes saying the season as a whole.

  • Dorothy

I forgot to mention. If YOU need backup I will happily show you. Lol

  • Daniel

Omg the revenge haters sound like such sad people … I don’t get the big deal !! Scandal and revenge are 2 very different shows on the same network seriously how obsessed are you guys with scandal . I watch both I enjoy them both but I’m not gonna be like ahhhhh cancel revenge blah blah blah seriously get a life !!! Scandal is rating well fantastic ! Revenge not so well?? Who cares they either cancel it or not at the end of the day wether it stays on air it’s not going to put food on your table so why do y’all give a crap so badly !!!! Anyway maybe They should just make revenge for australian tv where it’s the #1 overseas drama !! Hell some weeks it’s number 1 overall … And scandal not so big , yet hold your breath !!! Audiences here appreciate both shows ! Now how could that be possible !

  • Felipe Nikita

    OMG AMANDA DIED

  • Douglas from Brazil

I’m getting worried about The Good Wife, 1.4 is bad, what happened last night to CBS goes down.Revenge I’m worried too.Oce Upon A Time won’t see more than 2.5 until the end os this season especially when spring come.

  • toons

i’ll never understand people rooting against shows instead of just rooting for shows

  • BigBrotherFan

I’m not going to even bother with the whole Scandal and Revenge nonsense. I watch both shows and they couldn’t be more different from one another.

I’m happy REVENGE scrored low though. As a fan I’m still pretty pissed that the writers have done NOTHING to correct the problems that has buzzed around all season! NAMELY ****SPOILER**** Aiden! WHY THE HECK the writers killed of Amanda instead of him is just yet another slap in the face to the fans.

If he stays next season. I’m done with the show. With Aiden dragging the show down DOWN DOWN quite frankly I rather watch GIRLS than another second of his useless character! GET RID OF HIM and put JACK AND EMILY TOGETHER..geez
