Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.
Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

CBS dramas last Friday, 1.3 average with 0.7 lead-in, are not looking that bad now compared to TGW/Mentalist’s 1.4.
No spoiler. The Amazing Race is a lock for another Emmy win this year. Last night’s episode was one of the best yet. The camera work was excellent. I have no idea how they pulled that skydiving challenge scenes off. It was breath-taking. The location, Bora-Bora, was beautiful as well. The challenges were difficult. You either need to be very patient or very brave to finish. Lastly, the contestants were a good mix of likable (the father and son) and unpleasant people (the newlyweds!!!). I don’t think The Voice or Top Chef has qualities that can snatch TAR’s win this year
Revenge and OUAT were both really good last night!! Both shows will rebound completely by the end of the season
I loved the first season of Revenge, but the plot has become too strange and convoluted this season. Last night’s episode was much better, though.
Hopefully word of mouth will kick-in and help the ABC dramas. A lot of people said they liked last night’s episodes .
That’s horrible for The Good Wife.
OUAT gained a tenth back and Revenge did 4 tenths. I guess thats an improvement!
I missed Zero Hour on Thursday and watched Sunday night and it was very good. I know it’s ratings on Thursday were bad, but I’ll watch whatever they air. But I also liked Fastforward, The Firm and Awake.
How long until REVENGE is in the 0′s?
People Calm down will you Revenge has has done well this week to recover from it’s 1.4 last week. It was never going to recover 100 per cent in just ONE week.
I wonder what producers think when they are told “these wouldn’t work on network TV”. I mean, how come The Mentalist is fine for network, but Homeland isn’t? With all the fuss on Irak I bet Homeland would be pulling incredible numbers on network. It’s quite an addictive show.
Holiday weekend = low ratings
Once Upon A Time was great this week. I hope people come back. I want to see high 2′s and low 3′s again.
I’ve just realised why everything is lower than usual: it’s a holiday weekend.
well done ABC, you have killed your own shows
YES YES!! Continue to spiral down that dark hole of no return Revenge!!
Cancellation Bear will feast on you, as you continue to writhe in your mingling ratings!!
Guys stop fighting, Revenge is still getting renewed! So that means, that its premiere will have a 3.0 or higher! Something that Scandal has not and will never see. lol
I’ve just realised why everything is lower than usual: it’s a holiday weekend.
Bingo!
@Charlie
Homeland is morally ambiguous, which would never fly on network television.
@ Andy
I think that a Survivor / TAR combo would add about three tenths to both shows, as about the same 2.4 percent of people watch both of them. There is so much audience overlap there.
Isn’t this the first time TAR beat Once Upon A Time on its timeslot, and got #1 on the night?
Happy for The Amazing Race
what happened to the good wife and the mentalist…both should be cancelled at this point…
