Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    I don’t like Revenge, OUAT or Scandal but chances are all 3 are going to get renewed.

    Nice work by TVBTN though to create the persona known as ‘max’ to get people talking every time he posts, people just love to hate ‘him’.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @Holly who said:
    Really low numbers for CBS… Suddenly CSI:NY’s 1.2 on Friday doesn’t seem so horrible.

    And Blue bloods 1.4 look like big hit now.

  • PixieLavender

    Does anyone know when the DVR ratings come out?

  • Greg

    Ouch at The Good Wife. I’m still betting on a renewal just because it’s cheaper than CSI: New York and it’s produced by CBS unlike The Mentalist, but still, these numbers are atrocious.

  • Petar Ivanov

    fox animation domination look bad these days. Dads shoul save it.

  • frodo

    Revenge and Once Upon a Time both did below average in the ratings, hopefully they can adjust up some in the finals. Hopefully Revenge and Once will continue to rise in the next couple of weeks, ABC pretty much destroyed them. Now another 3 weeks without Revenge. ABC at its best.

    As far as Scandal goes, yesterday’s episode of Revenge was 1 million times better than anything Scandal could ever produce. Next season if they move Scandal to Sunday at 21 taking Revenge’s slot, it will see the same numbers.

    Hopefully with Downton Abby out of the way now, Revenge can steal some of their viewers back.

    Now your telling me there is nothing you can do about Max spamming constantly stupid stuff..

    I mean come on one post is fine but the guy has already made 5 posts in the course of fifteen minutes with nothing but the same garbage in each thread?

    And that’s supposedly fine by the mods? I mean really?

  • Survivor Fan

    @ PixieLavender

    Today is a holiday, so that could push back the normal releases.

  • Shepherd

    Zero Hour repeat did quite well.

    LMAO at OUAT. Even I didn’t think it would stay so low! I for one do not buy into this ‘steady climb’ through March BS either. I said it 5 weeks ago, but i’ll say it again; OUAT will not hit 3.0 again this year and from the looks of it, not ever.

    About what I expected for Revenge. That show has no real competition, and a lot of ‘fanboys’! LMAO

    @SJ

    You keep talking about how you have access to the overnights, C3 ratings etc., but you never post any, and yet your assertions are never very accurate. I suppose 1.8 is within 1.7-2.0, but that’s a range of more than 15%, not very precise imo.

    @Peter

    3.0??? Really? Even if I assume that you made a typo an meant 2.0, which you made clear that you didn’t, laughing at MY prediction. LOL

    @PixieLavender,

    Does anyone know when the DVR ratings come out?

    Usually they would be out later today, but with today being a holiday, they will probably be delayed until at least tomorrow.

  • Avenger

    Watching Revenge slowly descend and ascend is hilarious. This piece of crap is gone for good come May!

    Emily Van Camp better get her food stamps and unemployment papers ready.

  • cimmer

    Wow I was too optimistic for OUAT at 2.4-2.5. Could be the long weekend – maybe. It’s sometimes tough with fantasy/scifi shows (as Syfy knows too well), especially on network, because people find them cute or interesting to begin with and then the non fantasy/scifi crowd wander off or isnt steady and only the hard core fantsy fans stick and they often aren’t enough to keep such a show on the air over two or three seasons unless something can be worked out on the budget end or you’re on Fox, lol.. I’m not saying that’s what’s going on with OUAT but I wonder if it will get back up to the threes and STAY there anymore. I could see the season finale making it, and maybe the first ep next season and then it slipping down to the low twos. Maybe that’s okay with ABC though.

  • danny94

    Revenge did Very well to improve by 29 per cent in one week, I am abit concerned that once only grew 5 per cent though i hope the audience comes back when the both shows return in next month

  • Andrew

    There isn’t anything wrong with Revenge or OUAT, it’s ABC’s STUPID scheduling. I don’t understand why ABC thinks they can compete with the Grammys AND The Oscars?? There’s no way you can recover from that. I don’t even want to think about what the ratings will be for ABC’s Sunday Lineup next week.

  • Remote Patrolled

    I’m a Revenge fan – though I’d be the first to admit this second season has been pretty woeful at times. I don’t watch Scandal but you can’t miss the buzz for the show and the climbing ratings so I’m tempted to give it a go.

    Gotta say though – this constant Max / Revenge / Scandal stuff on the TBTN site has become pretty tiresome now. It was kind of funny for a couple of weeks but it’s just become really juvenile and pretty silly now. And it’s taking away from serious / interesting ratings discussions – which is what I know I come to the site for.

    I understand you don’t want to ban people but when the message boards are dominated by 1 (or 2) people and the conversations are the same every week – I think it hurts the site as a whole. You become a silly fan site. Makes me tempted to go to Deadline Hollywood or TV Line or elsewhere to get my ratings news instead…

    I have a feeling other people are feeling the same way and you may start losing traffic / visitors…

  • Joseph

    These ratings just symbolise this week- usage down

  • Andreas

    Max, even if you’re not Paris, i still feel sorry for your life. Spending every Monday morning on a tv website refreshing the page over and over so you can post your pre-typed comment first? And over what? Two terrible tv shows/soaps aimed at middle aged women? Sad man, sad. If you’re going to being a ridiculous stan for a show, at least make sure it’s a good one. Breaking Bad, Mad Men etc.

  • Paul P

    The Good Wife & The Mentalist will both be gone…any chance Vegas will be
    sparred for Sunday’s?

  • Steph

    Wish Revenge had gone a little higher, but at least it went up. I wish they’d move it back to Wednesday at 10. It was at home there.
