FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA TO MAKE FIRST SIT-DOWN APPEARANCE ON NBC’S “LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON” ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22

New York, New York. – February 19, 2013 – NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” welcomes First Lady Michelle Obama to Studio 6B on Friday, February 22 (12:35am ET) for her first sit-down interview with Fallon. Mrs. Obama will be visiting “Late Night” to kick off a national tour celebrating the third anniversary of Let’s Move!, her initiative to solve the problem of childhood obesity within a generation.

 

The First Lady previously appeared on the show in a special comedy sketch facing off with Fallon in a lively fitness challenge taped at the White House for the second anniversary of Let’s Move!.     She is the First Lady, and a darn good one. Unlike the last first lady, people actully want to see and hear what she has to say.

    (I come here to discuss why Mrs. Obama is going on Fallon’s show rather than Letterman’s, which is also in NY, and I find her being bashed. How lame do you have to be to bash the first lady on a TV ratings site? Don’t these haters have “any actual work to do?” )

    Now back to our regularly scheduled program: I don’t think Fallon has earned the right to have Mrs. Obama on his show. He lacks gravitas and skill as a political interviewer. I think she should go on Letterman’s show instead and forego giving Fallon any credibility as more than a lightweight.
