Career-Launching Prize Package Will Include NYLON Magazine, GUESS and Next Model Management

February 21, 2013 (Burbank, Calif.) ? Cycle 20 of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL hosted by Tyra Banks, returns with new prizes and new competition – men! The first-ever “Guys and Girls” edition will begin airing Summer 2013.

Eight men and eight women will live under one roof and battle it out to earn the prestigious title of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. This cycle will explore the similarities and differences that male and female models face in the pursuit of their careers, bringing on experts and celebrities to mentor and challenge them each week. There will be more than a little opportunity for rivalry, flirtation and romance.

The model hopefuls will compete for a career-launching prize package that includes new prize suppliers Next Model Management and GUESS, as well as NYLON magazine. The winner will receive prizes including: $100,000 national ad campaign with GUESS, whose advertising campaigns have launched many modeling careers; a fashion feature in NYLON magazine, as well as a modeling contract with Next Model Management.

In addition to the panel of judges, which includes Banks, fashion public relations maven Kelly Cutrone and former boxer and international male supermodel Rob Evans, the public will again be able to have a say in who stays and who goes in the competition. Famed stylist Johnny Wujek returns as photo shoot creative consultant and top fashion blogger Bryanboy will return as the social media correspondent, mentoring the models and highlighting the scores, comments and video messages from the viewers that will be revealed in the show during judging.

Fans will again have numerous opportunities each week to vote online and via mobile at http://cwtv.com/thecw/antmvoting to choose their favorite contestants based on photo shoots taken during production. Voting begins TODAY, Thursday, February 21, and continues with the following voting dates: February 24, February 28, March 3, March 7, March 10, March 14, March 17, March 23, March 26, March 29 and April 3. Some of the guys and girls who have already been eliminated will have the opportunity to return to the competition via votes on their photo shoot pictures, which will allow the audience the chance to save their favorite model. This cycle, fans will also have the opportunity to automatically enter a contest when they leave video comments, during the voting, for a chance to win* prizes from some of the AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL partners.

This is like the CW’s idol,

  • Jamie

I wander if The CW will run it fully in the summer this time. If so, it shouldn’t air on Fridays. They should put it on Thursday at 8 p.m.

  • r0ckmypants

@Jamie – Against Wipeout and So You Think You Can Dance? ANTM would get murdered. Plus it would probably be a better payoff to rerun The Vampire Diaries in its own slot, especially if the spin-off gets picked up to series.

  • Jamie

The CW has always flourished in that time slot but you could be right. Either way it should anchor the night and launch a new summer series.

I saw Fri @ 8:00–it should do better than Nikita!

  • Shepherd

It would seem like a no brain-er to do a ‘co-mod’ season considering the show’s demographic. However, at this late in the game (season 20), the act of trying to capitalize on the Real World/ Big Brother style relationship drama stinks of desperation. Hopefully, this will be the last we hear of T Banks.

I’m still amazed that this show ever made it on air, and even more so that it has lasted so many seasons. I know s.20 doesn’t represent 20 years in this case, but still it surprises me how popular and/or profitable it has been for such a long time.

    “I say” Fri

  • OWL

At least they’re giving the crowds what they’ve always wanted. At least they’re gonna leave with a bang!

  • Jamie

Yes — but in the summer putting their best performing reality series on Friday while airing repeats Monday-Thursday seems pointless

  • RJ

They should have done this five years ago when most said to do it. Too little too late.

  • Brandy

@ Jamie, I don’t think there will many repeat, Breaking Pointe,Top Model, The Hunt and a dating reality show will air this summer and Mark may come up with other shows too.Last summer, The Next,Top Model,Oh Sit,Breaking Pointe,LA Complex aired during summer and a reality show called The Frame was supposed to air too but was cancelled beforehand.

  • Jamie

I know, but Nikita repeats quite well so Top Model should air during the week. Hopefully it can average a 0.6

  • Columbo

Why bring back Rob Evans? The dude’s a boring as hell clown.

  • 600 Years

They should go on ahead an air this on a weeknight, I understood the Friday scheduling due to the fall but in the summer its rerun city so there should be open slots.

The CW should’ve also kept LA Complex it probably wasn’t on them though since the Canadian network cancelled it first.

  • Greg

I hope this edition of ANTM does WELL! Its about TIME they had male models on this show! They should do Americas Next Top Male Model. Surprised they have not done that yet on the CW.

  • Dave

I agree with Jamie that it could air Thursdays at 8.7c and Breaking Pointe could follow it at 9.8c

  • Dave

*Scratch what I said about Thursday, i think they should fo this fir summer instead:

    8.7c:Oh Sit
    9.8c: New Datibg show

    8.7c: Top Model
    9.8c: Breaking Pointe

    8.7c: Arrow
    9.8c: The Hunt

    8.7c: TVD
    9.8c: Supernatural

    8.7c: NIKITA
    9.8c: BATB

  • Alan

They should had made an all-male cycle without girls!

  • Hillbilly

We know what Sara Bibel will be watching. ;)

  • DenverDean

HOD actually repeats pretty well, so if it’s renewed, I can’t imagine them not airing it.
