   Insurer with NY’s ‘worst’ record of complaints gets $340M Obamacare loan

   A health insurance company headed by an old friend from when President Obama was an Illinois state senator got a $340 million federal loan to establish Obamacare co-ops in New York, New Jersey and Oregon despite having a chronic record of consumer and regulatory complaints.

   The New York-based Freelancers Insurance Company has been rated the “worst” insurer for two straight years by state regulators, and data compiled by a national insurance association show an extremely high rate of consumer complaints.

   The firm was founded in 2008 by Sara Horowitz & before May 13, 2011, the Demos website described Horowitz and Obama as members of the founding group in 1999 that became “the core of Demos’ staff and Board of Trustees.

   Sometime between that date and Nov. 6, 2011, the Obama reference was deleted, according to cached versions of the site stored by the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.

   In 2011, the New York State Insurance Department ranked FIC last among commercial insurers with the most complaints and 49th of 50 among all the state’s insurance providers, including health maintenance organizations.

   In 2012, the Empire State insurance regulator again ranked Freelancers “worst” in complaints and 51st among 54 rated New York-based insurers.

   Ratboy and Coffee, It’s climate change. CLIMATE CHANGE… Get your facts straight. So, it doesn’t matter if it gets colder or warmer. We Humans have caused it. And we need to change are ways.

   Stop with your RIGHT WING science. It’s not the sun making things hot. It’s the carbon from burning fossil fuels. Oil is black, coal is black. They are evil. We need green energy at any cost.

   I like the fact that even with gas going from $1.80 pg to above $4, and they say that hasn’t affected the cost of living prices. The Government plays people for fools anymore.
   The liberals on this site will tell you it isn’t a problems. Silly, liberals fuel prices impact everything.

   Ratboy, I had been hearing that about spouses being drop. Just another big cost coming down the line for everyone.

   All these death panel talk is depressing. Can we talk about something else like, If North Korea does bomb a U.S. city which city do you think it will be? Oh, wait…. That is depressing too.

   Forthcoming regulation likely means no new coal-fired power plants will be built in the United States from US News today

   Looks like the clean coal tech Coffee Steve talked about yesterday will be for not. If black coal burns clean wont that make it green then ??
   I guess Bush investment in clean coal tech may have worked.

   They could prove a way to have Coal reverse (For Cathy) GLOBAL WARMING and this administration would not allow it. Why?

   It’s a con game, they want to fill the pockets of their Green Buddies the same way the Oil people and officials did for them.

   Have a great weekend folks, we’re heading out of town till Sunday, we been saving for a fantastic weekend at a hotel in Gatlinburg with a Hot tub and I plan on sitting in it for 4 hours tonight & Saturday, I may turn into a rasin but my Kid says I am one already anyway.

   D.D.–after your completely erroneous analysis of the US economy yesterday, you now offer your thoughts on Obamacare. Nothing could be worse than the 100% increases in healthcare every 10 years that the right wingers are content to live with. Obamacare is already resulting in lower cost growth in healthcare, more people covered, no preconditions, etc. Everything is under control if only the right wingers would stay underground until the next election….

    Well, I guess there are no right wingers who are willing to step up and state the accomplishments of the right wing GOP during Obama’s term…AND there are no right winger who can tell me how drastically cutting spending in a bad recession will grow the economy and create jobs. We did have extremist called Femeagle who said right wingers didn’t care about government growth or employment, but her views were so absurd that no other right wingers have stepped to join her.. here is your chance, right wingers….the only right wing “accomplishment” I can think of is total OBSTRUCTION of Obama’s job creation strategy and right wing support of legitimate rape….correct???
