Robin Roberts returned to Good Morning America on Wednesday after a nearly six month long leave of absence while she sought treatment for a rare blood and bone marrow disorder. According to preliminary ratings reports, 6.1 million viewers tuned in, giving the morning show its most watched episode since the day after the presidential election, November 7, 2012.
GMA also scored its highest rating in the Adults 25-54 demographic (2.28 million) since November 7. The Hollywood Reporter has more details.

So, I guess it beat TODAY.
Robin is a tough, talented lady! GMA is back at full strength. Brace for impact, Today!
TODAY self-destructed when they treat Ann Curry like garbage and threw her under the bus, which even Al Roker admitted on camera was wrong.
I am very glad that Robin Roberts is back and I wish her well and a complete recovery from all her medical problems.
Agree with Ben 100%.
I was a regular Today Show viewer but after the Ann Curry debacle, I tuned out and over to GMA!
Yeah, I never had a problem with Ann Curry. Yes she was more serious than the other hosts, but I like her a lot. Smart, pretty and has a pleasant speaking voice as opposed to so many other female hosts.
That said, Robin Roberts makes a perfect host. At first I was upset when Diane Sawyer left because she has all the attributes I llike in a host. But Robin Roberts more than compensated/
Robin Roberts is the best thing on GMA, which is often out of control and unwatchable when the lightweights are running the show (Josh, Sam, Lara).
Today who? Totally love GMA. Go Robin!
So glad she’s back. The reason I watch GMA.
