Cue all those people saying NBC will renew TNN despite its dismal ratings.

Doubt it. He’s probably earned more in one year as a TNN lead than he would in half-a-decade as a recurring character on Girls.

Okay, how long before the 9:30 pm TBS repeat of “The Big Bang Theory” gets more viewers in the 18-49 demo than the 9:30 pm new episode of “The New Normal” gets overall? Heck, “Cougar Town” is even beating “Smash.” Is it possible that Conan could actually beat Jay? Only time will tell.

  • Michael

I’ve got a press release for NBC:

    “Leno beat’s O’Brien despite vastly inferior lead-in.”

    8:00pm –
    NCIS —> Already Renewed
THE TASTE —> Should be tested in front of SHARK TANK Fridays. Bringing that 1.6 to Fridays would be great.
RAISING HOPE —> Final season renewal
OFF THEIR ROCKERS —> Cancelled by May.
HART OF DIXIE —> Renewed (for whatever reason)

    9:00pm –
NCIS: LOS ANGELES —> Renewal by May (duh!)
THE BACHELOR —> Renewal by May (unless there’s already been a multi-cycle renewal)
NEW GIRL —> Renewal by May
GO ON —> Renewed for 13 in May (a la UP ALL NIGHT) to stay in business with Matthew Perry
CULT —> Cancelled by or before May

    9:30pm –
THE MINDY PROJECT —> Cancelled in May unless FOX wants four comedies next year
THE NEW NORMAL —> Cancelled by May

    10:00pm –
VEGAS —> Cancelled in May (NCIS: RED will debut at 9, LA to 10)
BODY OF PROOF —> Cancelled by May (three seasons now and nowhere close to syndication)
SMASH —> Cancelled by May (too expensive… too low-rated… DEAD)

@Revenger – Someone mentioned that CW was preempted in Charlotte for basketball. Local preemptions cause drops in finals – that’s what happened to CSI last week – Raleigh and Triad markets booted CBS for ACC.

This is a disaster for NBC

I think they should have put Cult before hart of dixie. I get why they think shows premiering behind others might draw in more viewers but it won’t do that unless your show is really highly rated to begin with. Of course on Tuesday Night it’s hard to win either with NCIS and NCIS: LA combo but putting it behind a show that people don’t really watch to begin with is a bad idea. What they did with arrow is what they should have done to most of the new shows instead of still putting it behind old shows. Carrie diaries premiered by itself and wasn’t great but at least showed if it would be able to survive on it’s own or bring it’s own audience. With arrow that was a good move because Supernatural has a great fanbase I’m sure but it’s probably not as highly rated as it once was. I’m not saying cult is great I’m actually just watching it now but being behind an already dying show is a bad idea. Not that Hart of Dixie is a bad show in itself. That’s why while Carrie Diaries is not doing great you can see it is all it’s own doing as opposed to being behind 90210 which barely anyone watches or at least that’s what the ratings are saying.

On a side note is it true that CW, MYnetworkTV and back then WB and UPN doesn’t/didn’t reach as many people(as in not as many people can watch those channels) as FOX,CBS, NBC and ABC?

I am so sick of people adding the word flop in the show names a la The New Flop. It was no where near clever the first time and you are just getting ridiculous now. I’ve come to the conclusion that this website is filled with 12 year olds who have nothing better to do with their lives. Hell, I would rather listen to Max’s annoying rants than continue to read these “clever” titles. Get a clue people!

TNN episode was a downer with the puppy dying. Go On was good, but it has fallen since they added Simone. She is not funny, though adding Terrell Owens was smart casting.

  • Sammy

Murphy has to decide whether TNN is a drama or a comedy. The show is not the same as it was for its premiere. And anyway, this is all NBC’s fault. Why air GO and TNN without The Voice? That was the worst mistaker ever. They had something that clearly took over Tuesdays by storm and now they got the opposite. They will be regretting this forever.

  • Oliver

It’s true, but it’s 95%+ vs 99%+ and isn’t the reason why The CW’s ratings suck.

Fox doesn’t reach as many people as the big 3 either.

renew guys with kids ! nbc !! please !!!

  • JacobYates

    @Ryan Schwartz
I agree with you except on Raising Hope. I doubt that it will be a final season. It’s doing very good considering it’s a self starter up against NCIS. Fox will try to get two more seasons out of it at least. If it’s ratings tank next year it will be cancelled but Fox will not do a final season renewal.

Also, if Vegas holds up like this, it could get a 13 episode renewal (in another timeslot) or a summer renewal if Golden boy tanks and good wife continues to fall.

    @dan w
I agree. Well said on your part.

  • HalCapone

The only benefit to Comcast in buying NBC is football which will ultimately be migrated to cable (ala Monday Night Football from ABC to ESPN). The rest of the network is one steaming pile of dung.

  • @DiegoC

Come on NBC, get the comedies the hell out of tuesdays! 2 nights a week is more than enough!

  • Vanquished

TNN absolutely deserves to be cancelled. They changed the show, made Ellin Barkin’s character nicer and less homophobic/racist and took away a great deal of the comedy. They also made the little girl unbearable to watch. They did this themselves.

  • Oliver

NBCUniversal is a lot bigger than the network itself.

  • rob60990

NBC needs to focus on 1 comedy block at a time. Throw together 3 comedy blocks and hoping something sticks hasn’t worked.
