    Golden Boy better deliver next Tuesday. CBS has been promoting it like crazy, about three times per hour to the point of being annoying. Criminal Minds wasn’t even promoted this week until Survivor! Anyway, GB looks good so I’m going to check it out.

  • NBC Fan

    Hey everybody…

    When do you think Modern Family will beat Idol?

  • Ultima

    @SJ
    I remember a time, two, three years ago, when you could actually have a civilized discussion on these threads. The comments nowadays have certainly devolved.

    There’s still civilized conversations to be had, just a lot more crap to scroll past before you get there.

    I still think NBC should cancel all comedies but Parks (and maybe Community) and start from scratch.

    It’s certainly a possibility. All of their comedies are either new(-ish) or already in syndication. The production costs for an hour (new/repeat) of Off Their Rockers has to be less than 20% of those for an hour of sitcoms and it pulls better numbers. At what point does NBC decide that nothing is working and cancel every sitcom (except Parks & Recreation)?

  • Tony JJ

    @SJ

    Yes thank you! I remember when the discussions were actually meaningful and people actually gave legit predictions and reasons behind those predictions. Now we just have fanboys who call every show that dips a tenth a flop!

  • rob Idiot

    The Middle sucks rob60990, that hype is overrated garbage Whitney deserves to have its numbers and New Girl is better than that show.

    Good to know you have a favorite show now, I can pick on you and The Middle everytime I see you dissing shows you don’t like on here.

  • MichaelChickless

    That’s awful for Criminal Minds. But it still has ratings that’d make NBC jump for joy.

    Chcago Fire and Parentood are real 10:00 workhorses for NBC, but it will be interesting to see where Revolution shakes out when it returns.

  • karin

    CM ‘s series low

    “Hey everybody…

    When do you think Modern Family will beat Idol?”

    Never, MF is on the decline its own self.

  • JONNYSBRO

    I will say Nicki Minaj is one of the best judges ever on Idol. She is a complete surprise. She was fantastic last night. After 2 years of softballing, no critiques and everyone was great/beautiful it was extremely refreshing to see last nights judging panel. Keith gave great comments and critisicm, Nicki I adored, Randy was was just Randy but Mariah actually improved giving techincal critiques that actually were good not being as overly lovely dovey as Jennifer Lopez was. Btw Kree Harrison is a star IMO, just adore her.

  • Mickey

    @Max

    Damn good thing you are not a network executive, as you seem incapable of understanding that if a show is your highest-rated show (or second-highest if Revolution doesn’t drop after such a long hiatus) then that show is a success. You don’t can it, as you were saying NBC should do in the overnight thread.

    NBC isn’t the CW, but neither is it CBS with its much bigger pool of viewers. A show’s viability is rated according to how it is doing against other shows on the same network, not against other shows on other networks. That’s Ratings 101.

    The truth is, you hate on any show that is in the same time slot as your favourite shows. Regardless of how they are doing in the ratings or on their own network, you call them a flop.

  • Carl

    SPN was lucky with the 0.9. I hope next week will go up or at least stay the same, as the episode looks better.

    Survivor deserves those ratings. This is what a majority of last night’s episode was:

    Russell Hantz Nephew: I’m gonna be just like my uncle! Wait, no I’m not, I’m better than that. No wait, I’m not! I’m the baddest bad ever! Did I mention my uncle?

    Philip: Blather blather blather blather blather blather blather blather.

    The other team is somehow more of the same stereotypes that crop up in a dozen other seasons, and I still only know the names of one or two of them.

    This is all but unwatchable, and some of it has an extremely ugly tone. I don’t watch the show to see mentally ill people. This is why I stopped watching American Idol, when their audition shows became about little more than laughing at mentally ill.

  • RJ

    @SJ,

    I agree about the civility. I miss the old comment system too where you could get replies to your thread and had to login to send a comment. It kept some of the more annoying voices (ones who repeat the same thing over and over and over) away.

    SVU sucks whale a$$ under Warren Leight. Leight didn’t stop Stabler family drama, Chris Meloni did when he chose to depart. Leight’s storylines are WORSE than Neal Baer’s, crimes have been “dumbed down” and to top it all off, none of them are actually sex crimes where SVU would be called in. It’s deplorable, casting Mike Tyson was disgusting, and this Brown-Rihanna episode set to air is a spit in their faces, they are trying to reconcile and everyone should respect that, especially SVU. Had they done this episode in 2009-10, I would not have been so passive, but I am because those two are back together and they are trying to move on.

    They don’t need Law & Order: SVU redregging their media-covered pasts. Warren Leight is a selfish SOB and a crappy writer IMO and anyone who pays attention to what he says is just in it for themselves. Any person who ignores victims of rape and abuse, has a serious problem and THEY should be the one ignored. Sooner or later Warren Leight will get what’s coming to him, like all of us.

    Never in my days would I hope to want Law & Order: SVU canceled, but; I want Law & Order: SVU CANCELED… TODAY!

  • HGFM

    @Micha

    You do know that all the Law & Order series used “ripped from the headlines” stories for the inspiration for their plots. In that, Leight isn’t doing differently than the producers before him. He just isn’t doing it as well.

    @1313 SVU Lane
    Stabler didn’t have a daughter named Kimberley. Her name was Kathleen.
    As to Seasons 13 and 14, they are worse than the last years under Neil Baer. Don’t get me wrong, those were bad as well. But Leight doesn’t know what he is doing.

  • RJ

    My guess is Criminal Minds will rebound to at least a 2.8/2.9 next week. The show came back from break for two weeks, had the week off, came back, the two hour Survivor last week, and then returned again last night. The scheduling seems to have messed up the show just a tad. After two weeks of new episodes, Criminal Minds will go on another extended break, until March 20th.

  • EatMorePez

    Attention idiots:

    A show does not have to be either a massive hit or a flop. There is lots of space in between those two extremes. And many shows will run for years in that space.

  • GARY

    Arrow, 0.9, Supernatural, 0.9 and to think Veronica Mars
    was canceled with ratings from 1.8-2.5…sigh.

  • Micha

    @HGFM

    Thank you, that’s what I meant, typing faster than my brain is processing.

    SVU is horrible under Leight and the faster people know this, the faster this show can recover. People even have a petition on HIM!

    Yeah the comments on this site before used to have sensible arguments that’s why I liked to post here before unlike now where things are now out of hand with the haters and fanboy overtaking the comments just like EW, TVLine, E! and other entertainment sites.

    I also miss Bill & Robert interacting with the comments section. When they were around more often before, the comments is not as messy as it is now.

    Although I do appreciate commenters like Holly and Ultima who posts rational posts

    “The Middle sucks rob60990, that hype is overrated garbage Whitney deserves to have its numbers and New Girl is better than that show.”

    Before calling me an idiot, learn how to form a sentence. I suggest going back to 2nd grade.
