    @Rob idiot

Modern Family is declining but Idol has fallen more in the past month.

  • Dan S

I strongly believe CM will move to 10pm next fall either on Wed or maybe Thur. POI will likely move to Wed at 9pm to make way for a 2 hr comedy block on Thur for CBS. CSI imho will move to Fri at 9pm & I expect both The Neighbors & Suburgatory will pair up on Fri at 9pm as part of a 2 hr comedy block on ABC. As for Whitney & GWK I’d say buh bye

Arrow, 0.9, Supernatural, 0.9 and to think Veronica Mars
was canceled with ratings from 1.8-2.5…sigh.

“Before calling me an idiot, learn how to form a sentence. I suggest going back to 2nd grade.”

This coming from someone who acts like he’s in second grade. Oh the irony!

    @ NBC Fan

I shouldn’t had said never because there is a possibility that it can happen but its gonna have to happen this season probably before MF ages even more next season. A lot of it will actually depend on if Idol picks up because I heard the contestants are real strong this year so it might be like the Scotty McCreery season where it really picked up in late March.

I still miss Michigan J Frog.

is criminal minds ratings decling compared to ratings in the shows early run like criminal minds back in 2006 for example i check this website every day

  • Holly

Yes, Criminal Minds has declined overall, but so has nearly every show. Relatively speaking, it’s not declining any more quickly than the rest of the network.

  • Brendan

Supernatural’s ratings used to be 1.8 through 2.2 the first few years too. I am sure that if Veronica Mars lasted as long – the ratings wouldn’t be that high in eight years either.

  • Ultima

The year-to-year decline for Criminal Minds this season is up significantly from past seasons – it’s now actually declining at about the same rate as the network average as opposed to being virtually flat for five straight seasons.

@Dan S, I totally agree with your suggestions regarding the CBS dramas. I discussed moving shows last week and was bashed by some posters who stated that CBS would never make that many changes to its schedule. Criminal Minds still has life but it is losing steam. I feel it would now serve the network better in the 10pm timeslot on Wednesday. Maybe for its last season, it could be even darker in tone. And CSI should return back to its original spot for its last 2-3 seasons.

Suburgatory is really weak. It is not capable of pulling in more viewers than The Neighbors. And there is only a .1 difference in the demo, even though Suburgatory has a stonger lead in. ABC should really try airing another new episode The Neighbors after Modern Family to see how it would perform.

I think they should have just left the secondary agent role free, after Paget left, no one should have came in to take her seat at the BAU table. They did well w/o her in the latter of season 6. Jeanne Tripplehorn is okay, but she’s not Paget Brewster. I’d rather she play someone for Rossi, versus an FBI Agent.

Do I think Paget’s departure affected Criminal Minds’s ratings? I think it plays a factor, but Criminal Minds season 8 is roller-coastering quality wise. Giving Reid a girlfriend just to kill her off is a prime example of that. But I do love they have a new nemisis this season. Something that has been lacking since “the Foyet Files” in seasons 4-5.

Criminal Minds is still great, but they need to slow up in places. And dumping Tripplehorn from the BAU at the end of the season wouldn’t be a bad thing. Keep her as Rossi’s girlfriend or something.

What happened to Criminal Minds :0 ??

  • networkman

I really enjoyed American Idol last night. I feel the judges chose some really strong female singers. And Nicki is refreshing. She has turned out to be a really good judge. IMO, she is stronger at the panel than Mariah. She is not afraid to speak the truth, giving insightful critique. She is really concise, to the point but entertaining in her delivery.

Lastly, I really feel those involved with Law & Order:SVU should wrap it up this season. Not only are the numbers really low for this once great powerhouse, the quality of the show has dropped. It should leave while there is still some interest left. NBC now has Revolution, Chicago Fire, Grimm, Parenthood and hopefully Hannibal to build upon.

CBS is not expanding comedy block. It would have done so last year.
MOther is ending next year and 2Men is year to year.

The Neighbours fans are getting catty.
Don’t worry ABC has ordered a ton of comedy pilots, so it looks like there still trying to expanding comedy block.
Whether its Friday or Tuesday is the debate.

  • artzi

I’m happy that the special 20/20 did worse than Nashville in the same time slot, although I wish they would find a more suitable one for Nashville. It is clearly not a 10 o’clock show.

  • Jim

I think Max is still upset he couldn’t get a job at the NBC gift shop

Maybe they wanted to last year, but the quality of their pilots was so underwhelming that they decided against it.

Don’t worry ABC has ordered a ton of comedy pilots, so it looks like there still trying to expanding comedy block.

ABC ordering the same number of comedy pilots – looks like they’re still trying to expand their comedy block

CBS ordering MORE coemdy pilots – they are not expanding their comedy block

You’re right, it definitely won’t keep its post-Modern Family time slot, but some people were already predicting cancellation, which is not happening.

As for when Modern Family will overtake Idol, it could happen as soon as next week.

I don’t think ABC should be trying on another comedy block on Tuesdays with The Neighbors and Suburgatory. Neither is strong enough to anchor an hour, and even if ABC does go for another hour of comedy, it might be better to do it on Fridays. But even then, I’d wait another year to see how the multi-cams do there in the long run, plus, Suburgatory will be in its fourth season by then so even if its ratings do collapse, at least it’ll have enough episodes for syndication.

  • Dan S

@ v, if CBS isn’t planning on expanding their comedy slate why have they ordered more so than dramas ? They’re concentrating on adding some single cam shows like Robin Williams in Crazy Ones & Bad Teacher as 2 examples. Last year they just didn’t have a strong slate but I think they’re going for it this fall. Thur is obviously where they’ll add a new hour but wouldn’t rule out Fridays either.

A lower than usual Survivor could have affected Criminal Minds this week
