And we thought that California was the worst run by stupid people, now we have a new leader in stupidity.

Scooby SNAPs ( food stamps ): New York organization offers ‘Pet Food Stamps’

The number of people in America on Food Stamps remains at an all-time high, and now a new program is allowing Fido, Garfield and their peers to get in on the goods.

While the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal program administered by the states, Pet Food Stamps is a New York-based nonprofit that helps pet owners who can’t afford to support their animal friends.

didn’t I tell you last week you would be getting a snow storm ratboy.

ibsles continues to spout right wing lunacy to which the majority of Americans object. Ibsles and the DINOSAUR GRAND OBSTRUCTIONIST PARTY continue to set the dems up for vicotry in 2014 and 2016 with the anti-American extremist agenda. So far no takers from the right wingers on how drastically spending will grow the economy and create jobs….ibsles’ dinosaur party backed the legitimate rape guy and his ilk. He probably backs the right wing extremist Ted (Joe Mc Carthy) Cruz, too. Even Rove sees this guy as anathema to winning elections…

    Good Morning Everyone,

I looked at the horror show of TN.’s cuts for sequestration, &, broke them down by immediate cuts….0 . I then emailed my representatives to lend support for sequestration. I would have done it anyway , but, I thought sequestration was stupid at the time. This shows how far Democrats will go for tax increases. They should stop insisting on higher taxes and start getting serious about modernizing the entitlements like Medicare and Medicaid that comprise the other 60% of government. If they won’t, then sequester away.

(Closing loopholes needs to happen, not, just after R.’s gave Dems a tax increase without getting anything back. There is no fairness there. )

    What’s going on ???

According to a CNN article, corporate insiders are now selling nine times more of their own shares than they are buying…& brand new Bloomberg article, says insider sales of stock have outnumbered insider purchases of stock by a ratio of twelve to one over the past three months

According to Business Insider, the recent purchase of 100,000 put options by a mystery investor has a lot of people on Wall Street talking…
The trader bought 100,000 put options on the ETF (a put option increases in value when the price of the underlying asset, in this case, the ETF, goes down).

To put that number in perspective, few investors ever trade more than 500 contracts

And as Art Cashin of UBS has noted, there was also another extremely large bet that was placed recently that is banking on a financial crash within the next two months…

Then I read that freight shipment volumes have hit their lowest level in two years, and freight expenditures have gone negative for the first time since the last recession.

The World’s Biggest Gold Storage Company Is Now Turning Away American Clients

    ViaMat is dumping US citizens.

This is huge. I can’t possibly overstate the potential ramifications. So says Simon Black writing for Business Insider.

this just in from Fox Right Wing “News”…the right wing is criticizing Seth’s jokes at the Oscars last night. He rightly characterized the lunatic Christian right and apparently Fox is upset. Too bad…they don’t need the right fringe audiece, anyway. And they didn’t attract the rest home demographic which is Fox’s primary draw…..
wonder what Slimebaugh will say about Oscar night……

  • usa8888

D.D. and ibsles –two people who have not the slightest knowledge of economics are pontificating to the right wing uneducated. They should buy time on slimebaugh’s show–they could make money off the suckers who listen…

  • Mikey O

@usa8888 What was realy strange was Michelle Obama having the Military in backround and doesnt even mention the Military. What were they doing there ????

  • Matthew

And we thought that California was the worst run by stupid people, now we have a new leader in stupidity.

Scooby SNAPs ( food stamps ): New York organization offers ‘Pet Food Stamps’

It’s a private non-profit charity, not a government program, so what the H are you whining about?

  • usa8888

mickey–they were there trying to make the right wing fringe’s skin crawl. The right fringe was put in their proper place last night and positoned as they should be—backward thinking people who object to anything progressive and logical. the finge is SO jealous of the Obama family they can’t stand it. They have no one to trot out other than finge elemnts like Palin, gingrich, Cruz, Rubio, Demint, Ryan, the the pizza man who two-timed his wife…all the while purporting to be Christian right…..it’s sad , but that’s what the right wing GOP has come to…maybe Rove can change it…

  • Ratboy

    Idiot Alert!!!!

I just love the “Fox News reporting” bit! Most of wht this loon reports on has been reported by numerous different places and Fox is just passing on the message also.
The good thing, NO ONE HERE takes this loon seriously!

  • Mikey O

@USA8888 Dont know about you but proper manners, protocol would be to mention the people that are standing behind you. Just common sense.

  • Matthew

“America is broke — whether it’s mortgages, student loans or credit cards, we are broke,” Howard Dvorkin, CPA and founder of Consolidated Credit

This is just (one of many) another reason why comparisons between the federal budget and household budgets make me laugh – the average American household budget is run even worse than the federal budget. Personal debt as a % of income is at, what, 112% as of 2011?

  • d.d.

Ah, I see Featherweight 4 8s is opining again. I’m not a Rush fan a all . Sorry to disappoint him, but, just so he won’t be too crushed, I am a Beck fan.

The NYT’s has an article today:

“Mr. Beck has previously indicated that he plans to position the channel as a libertarian news and entertainment source, which would put it into relatively direct competition with Fox News Channel. The plan is rather audacious, partly because TheBlaze is owned by Mr. Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts, not by a media conglomerate like Fox’s parent, News Corporation.

Twenty months ago Mr. Beck left Fox and started GBTV, the subscriber-only Internet channel that he later renamed TheBlaze.

Within a year he had 300,000 subscribers, no small feat for any Web site. But by then he’d also decided he wanted to get back on old-fashioned TV. In September 2012 Mr. Beck announced a carriage deal with Dish.

What Mr. Beck has — and what other small channel owners don’t have — is an audience of millions on the radio and on the Internet. And some help from the Dish Network. When the channel was added last fall, he said, “We had customers sign up quickly, and we saw new customers join Dish. In fact, subscriptions attributable to TheBlaze outpaced our projections by 80 percent, proving that Dish is giving customers what they want with a choice in programming, not to mention the technology to choose how to watch it.”

Now, Beck is looking at some cable networks in which to expand. This start up has cost Glenn $100 million … all paid for, to date , by his books, subscriptions, & scheduled city shows.

More reasons for my liberal friends to laugh away.

  • Letmethink

I am a huge pet lover. Don’t know everyone on this site but if I am not the biggest pet lover, I would say that I most likely would equal any who post here. I am all for a private enterprise to help with pet food if it is run efficiently. However, if you read the article, they are pushing for government funding. I would be totally opposed to that.
As for your debt to income ration–where did you find the stats? I can’t find a recent stat. I did find a Clark Howard report from 2011 which indicated that debt-income ratio is decreasing.

  • Letmethink

One more thing I forgot to mention. Maybe I didn’t get the point of your post but the difference in the spending is that individuals are spending their own money. The government is recklessly and many times corruptly spending the tax payers money. I hold them to a higher standard–don’t you?

  • usa8888

This just in from Fox Right Wing “News”: the right wing is suggesting employers stop hiring and everyone stop traveling. Can you imagine? the right wing will be blown out in 2014 and 2016. I hope they keep digging their hole deeper…

  • Matthew

My original source (I read about this quite a while back) was a different article, but this one charts the same information, and the root source is the Federal Reserve. Basically, household debt as a % of disposable income is higher than federal debt to GDP, but actually on the decline; and, as the article points out, part of the reason growth has been sluggish.

  • usa8888

D.D.–there’s no question Beck and Limbaugh attract millions of listeners. The problem, in terms of elections, is that both their audiences together are a drop in the bucket in terms of the populace and are so far right that their audiences are a detriment to the GOP winning an election…..
