Obama the Transparency President: I Want ‘To Clear Out the Press So We Can Take Some Questions’

At his media blog for The Washington Post, Erik Wemple expressed amazement at how “President Obama finished an address to members of the the National Governors Association at the White House by saying, ‘What I want to do is clear out the press so we can take some questions.’”

This is the latest example of how Team Obama has utterly failed to live up to its promise of being the most transparent administration in American history, which the president still asserts.

  • Stan T.

Why don’t people trust the liberal media? just one more reason…

Obama has been out there for weeks screaming the sky is going to fall if we don’t raise taxes on the rich again, and end HIS sequestration…and the media lapdogs have repeated this mantra over and over and over…starting yesterday, as sequestration appears to be coming…”Oh, it’s only 2%, nothing to worry about.”…well, it was the same 2% for weeks, as they trumpted Obama’s words…so obviously the liberal media was lying to the american people for the past weeks, when they too were yelling “the sky is falling”…

  • Mikey O

@USA8888 You really want to bring up about two timing on his wife. We had a sitting POUS before and durning his term two timing on his wife, sexual haressment and lying under oath. What was being say back then, yeah no big deal that’s his personnel life. MMMM where was Gloria Elred at the time ??? Must have been out of country or something. Of course lying under oath is some what of a big deal.

  • Ratboy

Nothing like the sec of state knowing about who the other coutries are! Another doofus in the Obama camp!!!!

On the eve of his first trip abroad, John Kerry invented the Central Asian country of “Kyrzakhstan.” He was attempting to praise U.S. diplomats’ work in emerging democracies in the region, and said “they support democratic institutions in Kyrzakhstan and Georgia.” Unfortunately, the secretary of state seems to have conflated Kyrgyzstan, one of the U.S.’s allies in the War on Terror, with Kazakhstan, its northern neighbor.

  • usa8888

Hey mickey–you run with the double talking pizza man and I’ll run with Clinton and let’s see who wins, by a landslide….

  • usa8888

Hey Rat–don’t believe you ever answered the question about how cutting spending grows the economy and creates jobs AND what accomplishments the right wing GOP has made during the Obama term…I am waiting..

  • usa8888

Hey–have any of you right wingers seen the list of kooky speakers at the 2013 CPAC COMEDY CONVENTION–it’s hilarious. Hope they pick one of these extremists to run in 2016–it wil be a landslide for the dems. Didn’t see Rove as a speaker….

  • Hillbilly

@AppleStinx – Hillbilly and strangers in the night doing the doobie-doobie-do!

Strangers? Once the doobie-doobie-do starts they are no longer strangers. :)

  • Hillbilly

Thanks for not giving me more to research. :)

Now I’ll admit I’m against a new cabinet position being created just as i am against a new entitlement being created. I’m in the camp that the fed govt is to big. Nobama by his actions mentioned above & lack of meaningful deficit reduction obviously doesn’t agree with me.

I know you like a good debate & you haven’t had one (on here) in 2 weeks. So i thought engaging you in one would make you happy. See i can be nice even to my ex-wife. Maybe next week I’ll find something to debate with you (if sequestration happens) unless **somebody else engages you on another subject.

Somebody please find something to debate with Faith3. I debated the woman for the entire 10 years we were married. Mostly for the makeup sex that followed. ;)

  • usa8888

This just in: Seth MacFarlane’s Oscar ratings are up substantially over last year with the young demo up at least 18%. —this in spite of Fox Rtght Wing “News” saying it was too sexist and crass. Notably missing from the Oscar demos was the Lawrence Welk set which went go Billo…The Oscar ratings were 20 time what Billo gets…..

  • usa8888

Hey righgt wingers–D.D. , Rat, Mickey, Stan, etc–haven’t seen your list of right wing GOP accomplishments yet….I am waiting….

  • Ratboy

Hey Rat–don’t believe you ever answered the question about how cutting spending grows the economy and creates jobs AND what accomplishments the right wing GOP has made during the Obama term…I am waiting

Step One – Take a deeeeep breath
    Step two – Hold it
Step three – continue to repeat step two

  • usa8888

Hey, Rat–surely you can site some accomplishments of the right fringe???? NO??

If you can’t, how do you expect to win the upcoming elections, given they can’t be bought anymore…..

  • usa8888

this just in: The latest Bloomberg poll shows 54% of American want to postpone the sequester versus 40% who want it. This suggests a landslide victory for the dems in 2014 and 2016 as the right wingers continue to operate in an illogical vacuum with which most Americans disagree….

  • Ratboy

Who the HE1L left the door open????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!

  • usa8888

This just in: Michael Steel, former RNC Chairman, says La Pierre’s lack of logic regarding backgroud checks, is absurd and not the thinking of NRA members. He says La Pierre just wants to put more blood money in his pocket from the gun mfrs. Wayne was all for background checks 10 years ago and no is 100% against them. Why? Nobody Knows…

  • Jeff

Interesting that Mark2 openly admits he prefers to be told what to think by NBC
rather than listen to a fair and balanced report and coming to his own conclusions.

  • usa8888

Rat–I am waiting and so is the GOP ad agency…..

  • Cathy

Matthew, My thoughts have always been that many Americans don’t see the country’s debt as a problem, because they are in debt also.

    About the link you stated.
Did you notice that personal debt to income started to go up sharply in 2000 when Clinton started pushing to loosen mortgage loan rules. And that it kept going up while Bush relaxed the mortgage loan rules. It only stopped in 2007 when the housing market fall. Is it only going down because of people losing their homes? And/or that fed and state governments are forcing banks to rewrite and decrease mortgage amounts on homes?

I know Faith3 and 1nancy2 have repeated time and time again, stated the liberal medias view that the bust in 2007 was all due to banks making up high values for empty land and somehow created money out of nothing.

However, you need to look at the facts that the greed of the average person was also a big part of the bust. Once the mortgage rules were weakened many people started to lie about their income to buy McMansions that were outside of their means. Yes, the banks didn’t care that they were writing bad paper, but the home buyer started it all with their LIES about their income. The home buyer needs to be blamed also. But NO Obama has allowed many who lied about their income to keep their homes and get new mortgages for the current value of the home. So, the people who caused the housing bust are being rewarded not punished.
And to make things worse Obama is talking about lowering mortgage loan requirements again.
It would be nice if everyone could afford their own home. Not lowering loan requirements will not work.

I keep trying to post about the repeal of the GS in 1999 and its part in the economic crisis. It is from us news. For some reason I can’t post the site or the name of the act that was repealed. I hope you can find it as it is worth the read.
