“MEET THE PRESS” IS THE MOST-WATCHED SUNDAY PUBLIC AFFAIRS HOUR FOR FEBRUARY 17, 2013
NBC PROGRAM SEEN BY NEARLY 4.3 MILLION VIEWERS

FEBRUARY 22, 2013 – “Meet the Press” was the most-watched Sunday morning public affairs hour on February 17, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The NBC broadcast drew 3.094 million viewers, topping This Week by +476,000, the Face the Nation hour by +512,000, and FOX News Sunday by +1,807,000.

MTP delivered an additional 1,167,000 total viewers and 435,000 A25-54 viewers with rebroadcasts – 471,000 total viewers and 124,000 viewers A25-54 on the network, and 696,000 total viewers and 311,000 viewers A25-54 on MSNBC.

In Washington, DC, MTP averaged 87,000 total viewers (3.3/8 HH), +135% ahead of FOX News Sunday’s 37,000 (1.4/4), +156% ahead of the Face the Nation hour’s 34,000 (1.5/4), and +295% more than This Week’s 22,000 viewers (0.6/2).

  • MTP averaged 3.094 million total viewers, +18% (+476,000) ahead of This Week’s 2.618 million, +20% (+512,000) ahead of the Face the Nation hour’s 2.582 million, and +140% (+1,807,000) ahead of FOX News Sunday’s 1.287 million.
  • In homes, MTP delivered a 2.2 rating and 6 share, ahead of This Week’s 1.8/5, the Face the Nation hour’s 1.8/5, and FOX News Sunday’s 0.9/2.
  • In rating A25-54, MTP delivered a 0.7 rating, +1 tenth more than This Week and the Face the Nation hour, and +4 tenths more than FOX News Sunday.
  • MTP averaged 889,000 A25-54 viewers, +20% (+147,000) ahead of the Face the Nation hour, +29% (+198,000) ahead of This Week, and +135% (+511,000) ahead of FOX News Sunday.
  • Week-to-week, MTP improved (+3%, or +100,000) in total viewers, +20% (+1 tenth) in rating Men 18-49, and +14% (+1 tenth) in rating Men 25-54.

Sunday’s edition of “Meet the Press” featured interviews with White House chief of staff Denis McDonough, Senator John McCain (R-AZ), and husband of former Rep. Gabby Giffords, Mark Kelly, as well as a roundtable discussion with California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom (D), founder and chair of Good 360 Carly Fiorina, Republican strategist Alex Castellanos, and MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.
