    @melissa

    “Yes, sorry I have a life.”

    Right! You sure could have fooled me, because you sure don’t act like you do! Ha! :)

  • Billy

    NBC needs to cancel all their sitcoms, and just start over next season. They cannot bring back these low rated sitcoms just to appease the few people that like them. People just do not watch these shows.

    Re: Melissa

    Don’t try to logic w/ the illogic, you’ll never win. Anyone who claims she has a life, then is able to pull a link from 11/16/02 that contains one oft-color remark about GA & spin it to prove a point(?), well, you get my drift!

  • Androme

    It’s funny that every time a show drops a tenth or more, every other comment here is “Bye bye (such and such)”, because it is thought to be automatically cancelled. It’s just hilarious.

  • Josh

    Go Grey’s so glad it was adjusted up

  • Serial Rocker

    @THE OLD MAN

    Yeah, the sudden appearance of that link did make me smile. That combined with the all too specific list of Grey’s various nominations doesn’t exactly scream “I have a life”. More “come see my basement collection of Grey’s memorabilia, including a life-sized Patrick Dempsey doll”.

    You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave…

    As mentioned in another thread on accident, I really hope the CW lets Nikita finally air at least 3 episodes in a row cause TVD, Arrow, SPN all aired episode 15 this week and Nikita only episode 11. Nikita needs to catch up

    @THE OLD MAN:
    Is it just my imagination, or does anyone else find it irrational to compare the accomplishments of a TV show, like ‘Person of Interest’–which has been on television since Sept. 2011 (2 seasons)–to a TV show, like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, which has been on television since March 2005 (9 seasons)?

    If I may say so, POI is still in its infancy, and it remains to be seen if it holds steady, or tumbles, or rises with every season (a rare feat, like ‘NCIS’, now in its 10th season). So, you can’t expect such a show to have a truckload of accolades after its freshman year (not every show is THAT lucky), and compare it to an aging show like GA, which has everything to show for its time on TV.

    If I must say so (to settle the argument, fat chance though it may be), to compare POI to GA would require POI to be on TV for 6 seasons, because it was at that point when GA started to lose its 18-49 audience.

    Love Parks and Rec. Great show, so underrated.

  • Roco

    @Rob, why don’t you adjust being off this site for a while, hater!

    SerialRocker, SC also fit the genre yet it was cancelled getting the same ratings 0.5-0.6 in April May that BatB gets before the spring drop happens.Also, I’m 100% The Originals will take BaTB spot.Theres a lot of genre pilots so need to keep an underperforming one that will no doubt pull 0.3-0.4 on fri next season if renewed and they didn’t risk it with SC.

    I wouldn’t consider a one or two tenths increase over 2 weeks to be a post Super Bowl bump but Elementary fans are obviously trying to be as optimistic as humanly possible. One more season and Elementary is toast. The POI reign of terror over Greys was sure short lived but POI still puts in a respectable number 2 showing.

    While piling on the woes of NBC is like shooting fish in a barrel, even the venerable network to the nursing homes in America, the Crime Broadcasting Syndicate is starting to show some wrinkles. Unless CBS starts to develop programming aimed at younger auds (and scripts stop including chalk mark outlines around one or more character per show), their fall from the top will be steep and a rebound very difficult.

    NBC. What can one say? Time to turn the lights out and go fishin’ until football and The Voice return. If The Voice starts to turn hoarse like other unnamed cheesy singing competition shows, NBC has even farther to fall (behind the Cheese Whiz, er…CW).

    Yikes! BatB is pretty much a goner. Too bad because last night’s episode was pretty decent.

    Sorry beasties!

    Bazinga.

    I thought Scandal would get adjusted down because of the two-minute overrun for Grey’s meaning that the ending of that would inflate Scandal in preliminaries.

    Actually the opposite impact – Grey’s went up – but likely that reason. Probably many people switched from AI to Scandal at 10, and both audiences were watching from 10:00 to 10:02. That in turn implies that plenty of people out there watch one but not both of Scandal and Grey’s.

    Asides from that, more Big Beast Theory numbers, and wow Parks skews young – Community, hardly an old skewer itself, had more total viewers than either Parks but was 0.3 lower in the demo. And the SVU rerun beat either original of DNH, so right move there.

    @ Cooky Monzta

    The only show I can think of would be The Good Wife. I think it has 21 Emmy noms through 4 seasons–not sure though, but I know it has a lot of noms both Emmy & Golden Globes, as well as numerous others.

    @ Serial Rocker

    You are too wild (but probably on the mark!). Can you imagine being the man in her life? That is if she has one! Scary thought, nonetheless.

    BatB must be a terrible show to drop from 1.3 lead-in to .5
    Definitely the worst retention ever for a show post TVD

  • Ael

    I love BatB!, it is my favorite show on TV. Everyone just needs to give it a chance. I bet it would do a lot better if it was on a different night.

  • John

    I love that the Elementary haters are resigned to “one more season, and then it’s toast” like it’s Smash (dropped from 3.8 to 2.3 in two weeks, finished with three straight 1.8s to end first season, which was only 15 episodes long) or something. They’re conceding that the show will be renewed and now have to cling to it being canceled “next season.” Uh huh. The fact is that Elementary has a consistent audience (it has never gone below a 2.1, and it only hit that number once) that is good enough to be renewed. Maybe it bomb next season and be canceled. Or maybe it will take off the way Scandal has. Given that Elementary has a loyal core audience and that it is the best new network show on TV, the latter seems more likely.
