CSI: NY, a drama which is on the bubble for renewal, airs its season finale tonight. The episode's ratings could seal its fate. On February 15, it earned a low 1.2 adults 18-49 rating. But on February 8 it matched its season high with a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating. Tonight, it will benefit from the return of Undercover Boss as its lead-in, after two weeks of following the low rated The Job. So how do you think it will fare? And will it be back next year? Make your predictions.

@Shepherd “not one to put a whole lot of stock in a show’s lead-in”
It made a difference when Ben & Kate was gone. TMP and NG went up.
@AJ “CBS needs to move out of its Friday night time slot. Put it on Sundays in CSI: Miami’s old slot. Or, put the 2 CSI’s together like they do NCIS.”
Yes. The fact it rates higher than Blue Bloods indicates the show still has some mojo. And as CBS proved last year, they prefered NY’s 1.5 on Friday than Miami’s 2.0 on Sunday. Which bodes poorly for the Mentalist.
No guesses, because I am *terrible* at it, but the episode sure felt like series finale.
It come back CBS would not so stop keep the csiny it good jest one more season .
I want it renewed…but then I have always wanted it to be renewed! I love CSI NY, the best of the CSI shows. So much has happened this season and there is so much more they can do. This season has been the best so far. Cutting the season short, we deserve another one.
I just watched CSI: NY. It sure looked the last episode of the series to me. The only thing that was missing was the cast waving at the camera and saying good-by. Most of the main actors appeared at the end to be having what looked like a wrap up party, while Gary Sinise delivered a “farewell” speech and then proposed to his girl friend.
I really doubt if the show is going to return with any new episodes.
@Hugh
CBS’ decision to axe Miami last year was due to a domino effect of scheduling that went far beyond simply asking ‘did CBS prefer 1.5 on Friday or 2.0 on Sunday?’
They wanted Elementary in that Thursday slot, which means they needed a home for The Mentalist (which was still doing really well). So it was a toss up between axing NY or Miami. They chose Miami as they felt The Mentalist would fare better (and for longer) on Sunday.
Also, lets not forget that ratings overall have dropped this year.
Hill Harper leaving does not mean much, he is the only one of the regulars without a contract for a potential season 10.
Somewhere between 1.4-1.6 i guess. Tossup still for renewal, cancellation.
Will depend on how Golden boy does, a syndication deal for TGW, how CBS wants to fill fridays. Cannot see CBS launching a new show on friday after the last couple seasons everything failed miserably. Last success is/was Blue Bloods.
But maybe they will promote Blue Bloods to 9 pm and do something new at 10 pm.
1.3 and booted off the Crime Broadcasting Syndicate island for good.
CBS must make room for their newest chalk mark outline dramas.
So CBS. After canceling CSI:NY how many more good quality TV shows do you wanna screw over this time? Oh that’s right, other than CSI itself you have none!!! You cancel so many great TV shows and for what? To watch The Job put itself out of a job? To watch Miami Medical pull the plug on its own life support without even having to try? To watch Made in Jersey make history as the crappiest show in history? 12 years ago your network ruled the airwaves now you’re just a shell of your former self being run by idiots that are full of hot air.
now you’re just a shell of your former self
A shell that has been #1 in viewers for most of the last decade and will be #1 in the demo this year…. that’s some shell.
#1 in viewers doesn’t mean #1 in quality. But then of course you probably wouldn’t understand that since you think Big Bore Theory, Mike and Fatty, and the rest of their comedy line up is quality TV. If anything today’s TV viewers are completely retarded and don’t have the brain capacity to appreciate great shows like CSI or CSI New York. And if you’re one of those people that think CSI New York should be cancelled you are the TV viewers I am speaking of.
Ah yes, the ever popular “you’re stupid if you don’t like the same shows I like” argument…
@Jim
Is this bizarro world? Normally, that sentence goes…
But then of course you probably wouldn’t understand that since you think CSI, CSI: NY, CSI: sarcastic location and the rest of their procedurals are quality TV. If anything today’s TV viewers are completely retarded and don’t have the brain capacity to appreciate great shows like (basically any non-CBS drama).
It’s done, it had a great series finale, but it’s time to put it to bed.
CSI: NY (2004-2013)
According to TV Media Insights, CSI: NY got only a 1.2. I think it’s done.
1.5, renewed.
I have no reason for thinking this.
Series Finale as it got just a 1.2.
CSI NY and Miami are over. Long live the mothership that started it all!
@Holly
in your case it’s the ever popular “if it’s old throw it away” argument.
@Ultima
you wouldn’t know a great show if it bit you in the butt and said I’M A GREAT SHOW!!!
@scarps
No it’s time for YOU to be put to bed, a hospital bed that is.
CSI NY deserves another season and if you don’t agree then you don’t deserve to have an opinion.
