“Exciting final laps”? Tuh. Those final laps were dull. I can’t believe that they couldn’t even muster a reasonable pack for six laps in a row to finish the race. NASCAR seriously needs to fix the Gen-6 car so that the other plate races aren’t this dull.

  • Yea OK

Agree that was a dull race

How convenient for them to leave out the fact that the Daytona 500 was rained out last yr & moved to Mon night. A 30% gain over a re-scheduled event is not much to be proud off boys! As for the only part of the report with real substance:
    – Best metered market rating for the Daytona 500 since 2006 on NBC (10.1/20)
That was all Danica Patrick. I have no doubt about that. She had a similar impact on IRL & watch those ratings tumble with her gone.

    The Danica Effect?

  • Joseph

    Two Words: Danica Patrick.

Had she been in the lead when the last caution period ended, I think Fox might have had a 15 or 16 rating!

Fox also caught a break in that ABC’s NBA game featured two teams (the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks) that have been struggling this year and probably won’t make the playoffs,. NBC did not have an NHL game, and that neither Tiger Woods nor Rory McElroy made the finals of the match-play golf event NBC carried.

  • Yea OK

Danica was in the 500 last year.

Might of been a lap but she was still in it

DANICA. All that needs to be said. The race was so so. Good number for FOX Hopefully it will continue for the next 12 races.
