@ That being said if somebody truly was for everybody’s Liberties and Freedoms I think gay marriage should be one of the easier ones to be for since it harms nobody

devils advocate for a brief moment. Gay marriage goes against the treaching of nature. A child raised in a gay household will have a huge disadvantage as they are taught the laws of nature of male and female = new life. Therefore the future generations could in fact have issues derived from the change in the marriage laws.
My point is only that it can not be said it “HARMS NOBODY”! That is only your opinin based on no fact.

Even Obama cant change the fact that it takes a man and a woman to make a baby!

  • Matthew

Therefore the future generations could in fact have issues derived from the change in the marriage laws.

This is absurd. Validation of relationships that already exist does not, in any way, prevent heterosexuals from procreation. For that matter, it doesn’t prevent homosexuals from having their own biological children through surrogates. You cannot seriously believe that same-sex marriage represents a legitimate threat to the species.

And, I might remind you, in a country that respects civil liberties, ‘the potential for harm’ alone is not enough to implement a restriction on freedom. You can also use your freedom of speech to cause a lot of harm, that doesn’t mean it makes sense to take it away. If we’re going to restrict someone’s freedoms in the name of protecting someone else, you need a much stronger case than that. If two women in Colorado get married, who is the victim of that act? Who are we protecting?

  • Mark

    @Ratboy

If you want traditional marriage, do you want to go back to the system we barter off our daughters? that system was used for hundreds(if not thousands) of years and even done in early American history. Why change the system if it can screw things up. Maybe all our current problems are due to us not using the barter system of marriage and we should make laws to go back to that.

Beyond that you are also making rash generalizations that

    1) Gay marriage will cause a negative to society. Simple fact is gay people will do things with gay people gay marriage or not. if you feel that your moral values should be pushed on society as a whole and they shouldn’t be allowed to get married fine, but don’t act like you 100% know what the result pro or negative is and if you don’t allow gay marriage that you can bury your head in the sand that gay people exist.

    2) That everybody will end up getting gay married and then there will be no more kids(well at least implying this one indirectly with you think about the children and how they will be lost. lol)

Simple fact with gay marriage is do you want to impose your beliefs and morals on 2 individuals. If you do that’s fine argue on the base of that but don’t give me a bunch of BS when you campaigning how you are for peoples liberties and freedoms in a general sense or I will call BS.

  • Cathy

Gabriel, There are no studies to support your statements. The only study done was the Pew Poll and it doesn’t support your statement either.
Can you list proof of your statement?

Are you really trying to say that all the scientist in the study who said they believed in God where saying that Nature was God?

It surprises me how much non-believers think they know about the teachings of Jesus Christ. The tax man in Jesus’ view was going start to Hell.

Believing in God and being a christian are not the some thing. Only 1/3 of the world is christian.

What the HELL does the barter system have to do with ANYTHING I said???

WOW!!! As a devils advocate I asked about the impact on the learning of the youth and Mark took it to a real exteme.

I am OUT of this one!!! YIKES!!!!!!!!!

    1) Only in America could the rich people – who pay 86% of all income

taxes – be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who

don’t pay any income taxes at all.

    2) Only in America could people claim that the government still

discriminates against black Americans when they have a black

President, a black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal

workforce is black while only 12% of the population is black

    3) Only in America could they have had the two people most responsible

for our tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury

Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means

Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher

    taxes.

    4) Only in America can they have terrorists kill people in the name of

Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims

might be harmed by the backlash.

    5) Only in America would they make people who want to legally become

American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens

of thousands of dollars for the privilege while we discuss letting

anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just ‘magically’ become

    American citizens.

    6) Only in America could the people who believe in balancing the

budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as

    “extremists.”

    7) Only in America could you need to present a driver’s license to

cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

    8) Only in America could people demand the government investigate

whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas

went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company

(Marathon Oil) is less than half of a company making tennis shoes

    (Nike).

    9) Only in America could the government collect more tax dollars from

the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion

dollars more than it has per year – for total spending of $7-Million

PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.

    10) Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the rich

    at a $35,000.00 a plate campaign fund-raising event.

    11) Only in America can a man with no background, no qualifications

and no experience …and a complete failure at his job …be reelected.

  • usa8888

Rat–Only in America could a right wing, uneducated racist get away with such erroneous comments because there are lots of suckers, most of which watch Slimebaugh and Beck….

  • usa8888

Hey Rat–I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!!! Tell me about the accomplishments of the right wing GOP……

  • usa8888

Hey Rat–you took the bait –hook, line and sinker from the bubba who published your 11 absurd points…..

*Australian Billionaire Unveils Blueprints Of ‘Titanic II’…

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – An Australian billionaire is planning to build a replica of the original Titanic.

The Titanic II will follow the planned trans-Atlantic path of its doomed namesake from Southampton, England to New York City and will have the same interior and cabin layout as the original. Passengers will also wear costumes from 1912.

  • Cathy

    Obama and job creation.

GM cancels its IT contract with HP. 500,000 HP employees loss their jobs because of the contract being canceled. GM hires 50,000 employees to replace the HP contract workers.

In the real world that’s a job less of 450,000. But in the liberal Obama world, he grew 50,000 jobs.

  • usa8888

Rat makes an important point: President Obama was re-elected by a large majority because he saved the country from certain depression had the uneducated, backward thinking right wingers gottten control. Further, with the changing demographics and with the right wing GOP refusing to accept the advice of GOP moderates, we can look forward to even greater dem gains in 2014…..

  • usa8888

Cathy–as most people know, GM and the auto industry were saved by Obama and millions of jobs saved and created. Had we followed the erroneous suggestion of the right wingers, we would have NO auto industry today…The American people understand this and support Obama–that’s one reason he won big…

  • usa8888

Hey–I haven’t heard if the CPAC convention is the best comedy show in town. Has anyone attended…pls advise….

  • usa8888

Hey Rat–who do you think is the best comedian at the CPAC COMEDY convention???

  • usa8888

This just in: Right wingers in the House continue to ignore the American people’s wishes on the sequester, spurred on by the right wing propaganda arm Fox “News”……

  • usa8888

Right wingers– I am waiting for a list of right wing accomplishments….if you can’t provide them, how do you expect to win future elections???? Voter suppression and gerrymandering won’t get for you anymore…

    Step up….if you dare…….

  • usa8888

Hey right wingers–seriously–I beleive that the right wing has accomplishhed NOTHING in the past 4 years except to obstruct economic growth and job creation and…they have supported the legitimate rape candidates….but I am looking for the right wigers to prove me wrong and state succinctly state your accomplishments…..but only if you dare…….
