MMM Seems to be alot of angry and hostility for people that seem to be winning the hearts and minds of the american people. Could it be they are worried that the house of cards is about to crumble ??? Why so angry ???

I bought a new ASUS tablet with Windows RT over the weekend. Interesting tidbit. There is no third party antivirus for it! Mictosoft wont allow it! In fact they say that RT is almost as virus free as Mac. We will see.

  • Coffee Steve

    @Mickey O

It used to be funny about Mr. Nanny, I just wish someone would explain to me how this bozo mayor decided he had this kind of power.

    Morning , crew.

    True ???

Since I neither watched the Oscars ,or, know Morse Code , I can’t say ..-

REVEALED: Military Members Used as Props by Michelle Obama During Oscars Were Blinking Coded Messages

The analysis can exclusively reveal the following:

    • One male service member appears to have signaled: E-X-T-R-E-M-E P-A-I-N S-T-O-P

    • A female service member repeatedly blinked: P-L-E-A-S-E S-E-N-D R-E-S-C-U-E P-A-R-T-Y S-T-O-P

    • And another serviceman signaled: S-H-E N-E-E-D-S H-E-R O-W-N D-A-M-N V-A-R-I-E-T-Y S-H-O-W M-A-K-E I-T S-T-O-P

Longtime Hollywood insider Sparkles Malloy observed that, “if the Obamas really want to break the record for most television appearances, they ought to at least move to Los Angeles”

    G.M.’s Itsy Bitzy Deception

Total operating expenses for 2012 total $41.2 billion, but this includes a large goodwill write-off of $27 billion. Excluding this charge OPEX sits at just about $14 billion. This leads to an EBIT of $-3.2 billion. So how did this loss of over $3 billion become a gain of $6 billion?

    Deferred tax valuation allowance

Now that GM expects to be profitable it has reversed that write-off and reinstated most of those assets. This increased the book value of the company above the market capitalization, requiring GM to write off the excess goodwill.

    This leads to two conclusions:

GM will not be paying taxes in the US for quite some time.

Excluding the effects of the goodwill write-off and the tax benefit GM actually lost money in 2012

  • Coffee Steve

I bought a new ASUS tablet with Windows RT

I heard some good things about them Ratboy, Microsoft needs to do something cause all I get 3 times a week anymore is Security Updates for IE 9. I think yours comes with IE 10 though.

    @Mickey O
From some of the computer models I’m seeing (5-10 years) they may be fearing another mini-ice age soon. This will only happen if NASA & NOAA are correct in the guess that the Sun will go into a 30 year cooling and dormant period.

NASA will be releasing the new data and an animation of the 30 year trend in Late May or June.

  • Coffee Steve

    Morning d.d.

I’ll check on that Blinking story, that would be funny if true, and I wouldn’t put it pass the Military people LOL

Anyone who downloads stuff that has a copyright to it, be warned, Uncle Sam is now looking for you and can get information from your ISP.

*Net providers begin warning of illegal downloads
National ‘Copyright Alert System’ To Go Live On Internet…

The Copyright Alert System, organized by the recording and film industry, is being activated this week to target consumers using peer-to-peer software.

Under the new system, complaints will prompt an Internet service provider — such as Verizon or AT&T — to notify a customer whose Internet address has been detected sharing files illegally. A person will be given up to six opportunities to stop before the Internet provider will take more drastic steps, such as temporarily slowing their connection, or redirecting Internet traffic until they acknowledge they received a notice or review educational materials about copyright law.

Consumers who maintain they have been wrongly accused would be forced to pay $35 to appeal the decision. The fee would be reimbursed if they prevail.

Proponents say the focus is on deterring the average consumer rather than chronic violators. The director of the organization behind the system, Jill Lesser of the Center for Copyright Infringement, said in a blog post Monday that the program is “meant to educate rather than punish, and direct (users) to legal alternatives.”

I know this will interest you .

Glenn Beck said that over the past 18 months, TheBlaze has spent close to a $100 million investing (Beck only investor so as not beholding to any one else)in programming and infrastructure that now broadcasts 42.5 hours of original programming every week. As a result, TheBlaze is ahead of Comedy Central, HGTV, History, Fox Business, and Bravo in online unique viewership on TV-related websites.

” Let me put it into perspective,” Glenn said. He compared TheBlaze to the left’s darling The Daily Beast. After one month, TheBlaze had web traffic that beat what The Daily Beast built in one year – and they did so with less money and less staff.

“TheBlaze currently is bigger than Politico, CNBC, Reuters, LA Times, PBS, & NPR.

Plus, I read , American Cities with Highesst Taxes listed :

    Louisville, Ky.
    > Taxes for family earning $25,000: $3,594 (8th highest)
    > Taxes for family earning $150,000: $18,008 (5th highest)
    > Unemployment rate: 7.9% (20th highest)

Billions in stimulus funds sit unused or expired in US

Nationwide, the recovery board lists more than $3 billion in funds committed to more than 3,100 projects that haven’t begun and $128 billion — yes, billion with a B — tied to projects still in progress.

That’s out of more than $800 billion that’s been issued since Congress passed ARRA in 2009.

That money will stay on the books of the issuing agencies for five years to cover invoices for projects before being returned to the U.S. Treasury. The government will be free to begin spending the billions of taxpayer money in 2017 or so.
