Do the Live+7 ratings tell us anything about a show's renewal prospects we didn't already know from the Live+Same Day ratings? No. Click here to learn more.

Definitions:
DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.
Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.
Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate
Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

CSI extends its demo lead over CF and Trashville with DVR. CF should be moved to Thursday 10/9, SVU back to its old Tuesday 10/9 slot. They could do real damage there, but NBC has been off the mark since December.
So more than 40 percent of Modern Family’s demo audience doesn’t watch the commercials. Great news for the advertisers.
@Tyson
Except advertisers don’t pay for people who don’t watch the commercials.
Bad news for ABC, indifferent for the advertisers.
So much for Community blowing up this list… Sigh…
@Oliver
I think maybe Tyson was being sarcastic
Great for Revenge
Hopefully this means viewers will eventually return when the show is back.
Honestly, that’s not good for Revenge. Several weeks ago Revenge had almost the same ratings in same day viewing, not live+7.
@Mi, the same exact thing could be said for Once Upon A Time too. They are moving back up though and seem to be on a rise again.
Do DVR numbers even matter when it comes to renewing shows?
I thought only live numbers mattered. Or does the network take into account DVR numbers?
I was excited when I read the Title for this dvr post with Revenge having the top percentage gain for all new episodes.
Well, this episode was the series low episode. With dvr it only brought Revenge up to a 2.5. Revenge was pulling 2.4-2.8 before ABCs drastic and horrible scheduling move for Sunday Nights. Not to mention with DVR Revenge was pulling 3.7-4.3 easily. So a 2.5 is pathetic in my eyes. I do take into consideration this was the night it aired against Golden Globes and all shows were down, although ABC was the only network stupid enough to air originals against it.
I figured with Revenge losing live viewers “due to strong competition” it would make up for a lot of viewers and demo in DVR. So a 2.5 isn’t impressive, and the viewers with DVR added in brought the total viewers to below 8 million viewers? Revenge was getting 8 million plus live not to mention it was getting high 10 mil-high 11 million viewers with dvr added. so with a drop of 1.2-1.6 in demo and 3 million viewers plus with dvr added Revenge isn’t doing so well.
Abc needs to promote the hell out of Sunday Nights and try to learn from their mistakes, unless it is truly because the shows are on a downward spiral who knows? I’m in Season one of Revenge and I’m loving it, I’m hoping I will enjoy S2 as well
Nice to see the respected shows of the CW on here as well. Vampire Diaries gaining .7, SuperNaturaL a .5, and Arrow with .5 gain as well.
What I find weird is that none of the pathetic lower rated shows that usually show up on this list are on the percentage list at all. Were there a lot of repeats? I don’t think so b/c it is February Sweeps. I for sure thought Emily Owens Series Finale was that week and HOD was new.. I believe this was the week Carrie scored its series high of .7 so I figured it wouldn’t make an appearance.
Apparently a lot of people are fleeing from the once hot zipcode of 90210 (not only live but on dvr as well!) and lets face it this zipcode was only popular with the Fox Beverly Hills 90210 not the remake! Not to mention when was the last time Beauty and the Beast made the DVR List? I don’t remember seeing it on here, and if so it definitely isn’t a frequent visitor like VD, SPN, ARROW, HOD, and NIKITA.
Nikita was a no show as well? Oh well atleast the top 3 shows are doing great
Why are Revenge fans boasting about this? So with DVR it has just a 2.5? Yeah great Rating.

Anyone know the number for BONES???
@Diana
Thank you.
I thought I was the only one who still wanted to know the demo for Bones. I’ve looked for 2 days and haven’t had any luck. I thought for sure Bill or Robert would have posted it by now like they’ve done before when it’s not been in the top 25.
