   I could go to college & learn that spending more than you take in for decades is a good thing.

   “Republicans voted twice to replace the president’s sequester with smarter spending cuts and reforms. And—for the third year in a row—the House will pass a budget that promotes economic growth and addresses our debt crisis. Now we need Senate Democrats and President Obama to do the same,” Republicans state on Boehner’s website.

   Matthew, we will never know if the birther would have gone away, because Obama waited three years before releasing his birth cert.

   By the way, my neice and the family got all moved in over the weekend. She sent me a great big homemade card (1 ft x 2 ft) and all it said was “YOU ARE THE BEST UNCLE IN THE WORLD!”
   I cryed like a baby!

    The right wing GOP headed by extremist Eric Cantor told Boehner he could not agree to Obama’s and Boehner’s $4 trillion grand bargain which cut entitlements and other spending, all because of right wing reclcitrance. This is why there is a big fight in the GOP and Rove says the GOP needs to dump the t-party….

    Teacher pink slips claim by Duncan not backed by evidence

    The descriptions of the post-sequester landscape that have been coming out of the Obama Administration have been alarming, specific–and, in at least some cases, hyped.

    “There are literally teachers now who are getting pink slips, who are getting notices that they can’t come back this fall,” Education Secretary Arne Duncan said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

    When he was pressed in a White House briefing Wednesday to come up with an example, Duncan named a single county in West Virginia and acknowledged, “whether it’s all sequester-related, I don’t know.”

    And, as it turns out, it isn’t.

    Officials in Kanawha County, West Virginia say that the “transfer notices” sent to at least 104 educators had more to do with a separate matter that involves a change in the way West Virginia allocates federal dollars designated for poor children.

    But the question is..Is he leaving the government? As we are finding out, a lot of “resignations” are from the position not the job.

    Homeland Security official resigns after release of illegal immigrants blamed on budget cuts

    WASHINGTON (AP) — The Associated Press has learned that the Homeland Security Department official in charge of the agency’s immigration enforcement and removal operations has resigned after hundreds of illegal immigrants were released from jails because of government spending cuts.

    In an email obtained Wednesday by the AP, Gary Mead told coworkers that he was leaving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the end of April. Mead is the head of enforcement and removal operations at ICE.

    “Bitter Pill” could have me . A few years ago , I had numerous surgeries & bone grafts at the Cleveland Clinic for a bicycle accident. My bill was $1.5 million. I needed 4 specialists who all charged , plus IV’s for 2 months , tests, tests, labs, tests, labs, medicine …. you get the picture for a year of care .

    My point is , I understand the medical system from a patient’s & from a healthcare worker’s viewpoint. There is a lot of waste in a hospital, but, if a sterile glove touches something unsterile, I’d much rather see an extra charge for a pair of gloves , or , a catheter that is going to be inserted.

    Patients also contribute to waste & I saw over the years , much of this waste was from Medicaid patients , extra lotion , more than one pair of slippers , hygiene items, food demand items at odd times. It was like many of these patients… mainly the women , could not get enough things. It seemed almost to be a need.

    As for cost of meds., treatments, tests, labs , there are a lot of write offs. For example , an X-ray might cost $300 & Medicare will pay $38 plus secondary pays a %. The rest is written off. Medicaid pays very little with the rest written off.

    It’s those individuals under 65 , under a private pay plan that are squeezed the most.

    As for obesity, you’re right. According to OECD statistics, Americans are twice as obese as Canadians are.

    Prescription drugs cost about 50% more in the United States than they do in other countries. I know why …developing & testing new drugs is expensive , but, Obamacare indulged in cronyism with these firms. According to a report by Health Care for America Now, America’s five biggest for-profit health insurance companies ended 2009 with a combined profit of $12.2 billion.
