    Carrie Diaries is done for.

Only shows now of interest in terms of cancellation on the CW is BATB and HoD – and HoD has a much better shot given it’s closer to syndication.

The Following went down two tenths and back up a tenth, so it’s fine. This week’s episode was pretty good – although I’m appalled at the stupidity of the FBI who DIDN’T WATCH THE BACK DOOR of the house! I mean, REALLY – how plausible is that? :-) I was hoping the moronic trio would be eliminated from the show and now they’re still running around?

    @Bill Gorman

Melissa, you cannot accurately perform averages on already rounded numbers.

Final A18-49 avgs for Monday were ABC 2.7, Fox 2.6, CBS 2.5, NBC 1.8.

I know, but it usually works for me! I got the same nightly averages as you by doing that.

Autumn: “Then, I would move BATB to Friday night with Nikita”

I doubt BATB is going to survive to do that.

“In fact, I would make BATB the lead in on Friday night since Nikita will only get renewed because of syndication anyway.”

Bad idea. Nikita is at least a reasonably stable lead-in. It did better at 8PM than 9PM. While the ratings for Nikita don’t matter, the CW might as well try not to damage them further.

“Moonlight did well in that timeslot”

    Gunsmoke rule violation.

“This fan base will also like Grimm and Haven (both urban fantasies), so putting it after Nikita would be a bad idea.”

All you’re establishing here is that BATB is going to be doing .3-.4 if it’s moved to Friday night in any hour slot. Which means it’s not going to be renewed at all.

Here’s hoping “Deception” is granted a second season.

    @ Panda

“I think the CW should just throw out every bubble show….except Nikita…”

i mentioned this in another thread, but I’m enamored enough of my own thoughts to repeat it: The CW should toss out B&B and Carrie because they’re low rated and have no syndication value. Assuming 90210 is cancelled, that leaves the CW space to run three new pilots. Maybe something will stick. I haven’t seen any indication that the CBS/WB joint venture will fund more than three pilots, so keeping HOD is the best option. However, HOD has been doing better lately and is approaching syndication territory.

    @ Mr. Hack:

Nice catch on the Gunsmoke Rule. This is the second time in recent weeks I’ve seen a Beastlie trying to go back half a decade to make a case for keeping B&B around.

What’s with all the Fake Empire hate? Did I miss something?

  • Judy912

Nice that ‘Castle’ was the most watched program of the night with the overall viewers. Would have been an even greater accomplishment if it had increased it’s 18-49 viewership. Still it was an exceptional episode and not one I will soon forget. WAY TO GO CASTLE!!

I like TCD. Hoping this isn’t the end. At least it hasn’t gotten Cult’s fate yet.

  • Cara

Nothing to cheer about. Castle was up against a repeat of H50!
