    13.0! WOW!

  2. WN

    TGW adjusted down. I wonder if CBS learned anything useful from this TM/TGW switch.

    After reading the list of new contestants for DWTS 2013 , I looked up American Idols ratings from when Pickler was a contender. Correct me if I’m wrong. But AI used to command audiences of 20-30 million in its heyday. This years Oscars with all the hoopla , ( seven hours of broadcasting) and Seth McFarland drew way less than half of Carrie Undrwood’s winning night.

    I thought this finished at 12:05p on the east?

  5. Dennis

    Less than half?? Did Carries winning night attract more than 80 million viewers:S, don’t think so

    During its best season in 2006, American Idol averaged a 12+ rating and 30+ million viewers over the entire season.

    This years Oscars with all the hoopla , ( seven hours of broadcasting) and Seth McFarland drew way less than half of Carrie Undrwood’s winning night.

    However, the 2005 Idol finale where Carrie Underwood won only drew a 12.5 rating and 30.3 million viewers (so less than Sunday’s Oscars).

    I’m confused. All the whinettes were dancing a jig when ST adjusted up to 1.9 on Fri but crying a river over TAR against the 13.0 for the Oscars.

    Kids, go figure!

    @ rich

    I think it was more like 12:15–I turned it off after the Argo crew walked off the stage

    @The Old Man

    They cut to Seth MacFarlane right at 9PM PST/12AM EST and the credits started and his final musical number. Ben Affleck and the Argo people stopped talking almost exactly at midnight. I added 30 minutes to my DVR recording and it stopped right when Affleck finished.

    @ MattR

    Speaking for myself (and of course for rich)–THANX!

  13. Keith

    @Keith

    Also pure eye candy in HD. The Bora Bora scenery is breath taking :)

  15. Mark2

    40 Million!!! Not bad at all.

  16. Michael1

    Wow, so Seth MacFarlane kicked Billy Crystal’s arse in the Oscar ratings, and then repeats of his regular shows kicked the collective arses of the remaining competition. Not a bad night.

    I love The Mentalist!!!! It is actually better than Criminal Minds. And MUCH BETTER than Law & Order.
