Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    There is a decent chance that 4th place ABC may catch up to second place NBC by season end. As it stands now FOX is just a touch away. NBC needs the Voice back ASAP.

  • Ultima

    @Jonnysbro
    Its official the Following has earned a second season for FOX.

    Link?

    “I have to wonder why H50 was a rerun last night”

    Probably because it aired an episode after the AFC Championship.

  • Lifey

    I don’t think NBC will actually find a Mid-Season HIT TV-Show.
    By the way , they showed “Hannibal” Teasers during “Deception”.

  • Billy

    @CrimTV and @ Petar Ivanov

    Totally disagree on 2BG syndication. That show is not nearly as strong as TBBT and it does not repeat nearly as well. It is much more likely to do about the same as HIMYM in syndication than as well as TAAHM or TBBT. It is simply not nearly the hit that those shows are. I don’t expect a huge boost from syndication and more importantly that is over 2 years away. 2BG needs better ratings now! It is the CBS 9:00 anchor.

  • POI

    The Following, How i met your mother and 2 Broke Girls were all great last night. Mike and molly was boring.

  • Ultima

    @Dan S
    I have to wonder why H50 was a rerun last night ?

    They might not have had an episode ready due to the extra airing after the AFC Championship.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @eridapo who said:
    It might, but given Idols performance this cycle I think those who are expecting the Voice to be as big as it was during the fall are going to be in for a surprise.. IMO viewer fatigue is setting in on reality voice competitions, and the Voice will see a drop of about a half a demo point… It still will be great for NBC and better than most shows on Mondays, but it will not be the monster that it was during the fall..

    I agree. Will be down but other monday shows will be even more down when TV returns.

    No, there’s not even a remote chance that ABC will catch up to NBC.

  • eridapo

    @ Sam

    It completely collapsed with the DWTS leadin and its rising with a good leadin from the Bachlor.

    The ratings for Castle have remained steady regardless of lead in…. around 1.9 to 2.1… The 2.3 of the past two weeks is due more to the two parter (which is a tradition for the show) than to the bachelor.

  • Petar Ivanov

    Well not agree. But also CBS don’t have any other better sitcom for that slot. All others sicoms are aging and dipping. ONly TBBT but there are no logic moving TBBT back on Monday.

  • TomJH

    It’s quite noticeable how much younger skewing HIMYM is compared to every other CBS show. And that’s why CBS will try to keep it on as long as they can with the numbers their getting from it.

  • eridapo

    The Bachelor 2.8 9.09/ 2.8 9.01/ 2.8 8.79 / 3.1 9.58
    Castle 2.4 10.91/ 2.2 10.48

    Bones 2.2 8.50/ 2.4 8.84
    The Following 2.8 8.58/ 2.7 8.30

    TCD .5 1.19/ .4 1.01
    90210 .3 .625/ .2.526

    Biggest Loser 2.1 5.78/ 2.1 5.53/ 2.2 5.68 / 2.2 5.80
    Deception 1.3 3.46/ 1.1 3.03

    @Petar Ivanov

    Then we agree to disagree. I do not think 2BG is going to be a huge hit in syndication. It does not repeat that well. That is the criteria. Syndication only has helped TBBT recently. Also, it is too far away to consider. CBS needs better numbers from 2BG now.

  • Skylar James

    Wouldn’t be surprised if TCD and 90210 adjusted down

  • BigBrotherFan

    @TM

    Got it. ABC does carry *some* male skewed shows but I know NASHVILLE isn’t really one of them.

    @JAA
    Naaaw..Not really my type. Sarah Jones is pretty much the hottest babe on TV right now.

    @Eridapo
    I sure did see the OSCARS but the thing is I only may attention to promos of shows I care about and CASTLE has never been a showed I cared about, so if they promoted it I wouldn’t of paid attention DITTO at RED WINDOW didn’t even know that got any promo but once I saw HAYDEN or KERRY WASHINGTON you are darn right I started paying attention at that point.

  • JONNYSBRO

    I loved watching the Voice in the fall. It was really good. I think people tune into see the new coaches and what their chemistry is like. It has been three months between seasons. I expect lower ratings but still doing well for NBC.

    FOX needs to cancel the X Factor. I guarantee its cancellation will boost Idols numbers and its just not worth it with the price tag and what it does to Idol. Its a very bad show that didn’t work here in the US. U want to make a bet when FOX cancels X Factor. Simon will be lobbying to get back onto Idol. Its very clear IMO Simon will be back on Idol.

  • LeighLee

    Go Castle! I hope it gets adjusted up again.

    @BigBrotherFan I didn’t know crime dramas were just for girls. I think Castle is as much for guys as it is for girls. I mean, last night’s episode had spies and explosions. How is that not a guy thing? The romance aspect of it (which I’m guessing is why you think it’s not for guys) doesn’t get much airtime.

  • Rachel

    @CrimTV

    But the CW didn’t pick up as many shows last season. I think 3 compared to this years 5. 1/5 shows is not good.

  • JONNYSBRO

    CBS made a mistake making 2 Broke Girls an anchor it wasn’t ready yet. Honestly CBS should move it to Thursdays after BBT. I have a feeling the Sarah Michelle Gellar-Robin Williams buzzed new comedy for CBS will be on Monday nights.
