TV Ratings Monday: '2 Broke Girls', 'Rules of Engagement' & 'Mike & Molly' Hit Lows, 'The Carrie Diaries' & '90210' Rise + 'The Following' Dips

ABC was number one with adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On ABC, The Bachelor garnered a 2.9, down a single tenth from last week's 3.0 adults 18-49 rating. Castle was even with last week's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.

On CBS, How I Met Your Mother was even with last week's 3.4 adults 18-49 rating. Rules of Engagement garnered a season- low 2.6, down three tenths from last week's 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. 2 Broke Girls scored a series low 3.2, down three tenths from last week's 3.5. Mike & Molly notched a season low 2.7, down half a ratings point from last week's 3.2 adults 18-49 rating

On FOX, Bones earned a  2.3, up a tenth from last week's 2.2. The Following scored a 2.7, down two tenths from last week's 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were about right.


On NBC, The Biggest Loser was flat with last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating. Deception was also even with last week's 1.2 adults 18-49 rating.

On the CW, The Carrie Diaries garnered a 0.5, up a tenth from last week's 0.4 adults 18-49 rating. 90210 earned a 0.3, also up a tenth from last week's 0.2 adults 18-49 rating.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

    Okay. I’m a male in my mid 20’s and tons of my buddies don’t bother with this show so if there is any action who would know? ABC sure promotes the whole dynamic between the leads and less action.

    Thats why the show has never interest me. I used to watch BONES until it became the whole “will they or won’t they” routine. At that point..they totally lost me.

    Isnt that comedy supposed to be a single cam? there is now way it can fit among multicams. I think it doesnt make much sense for CBS to order any single cam comedy, unless they order two and create an hour long block of them – let’s say on Friday or Sunday, since they have nothing to lose when it comes to these.

    The Following is doing very well is able to establish itself as a show with teh voice and DWTS.

    Actually, I see the Following staying above a 2.5 even with full DWTS and Voice compettition and the vocie falling hard, and DWTS will be stable vs last season it won’t fall at all though – great cast this season.

    For Castle, it’s a satisfying result now, a not so good sign in the long term. With 2.3 both now and in last week even the tiny theoretical risk of cancellation has been removed from above its head. (Of course I assume that the show will not fare significantly worse in the rest of the season than it did in the first half.) Luckily for Castle the other, possibly rival ABC shows (Revenge, BoP) brought worse numbers, and I must admit I don’t see Red Widow a strong midseason contender, though I can be wrong.

    On the other hand, this season was the first time when the show was unable to increase its rating for the second part of the two-parter. It is indeed higher than it was last year, but yesterday it was achieved against a rerun and a flop, unlike last year when it was against a strong Smash and H50. (Last year H50 alone had 2.5 ratings, now NBC and CBS together had 2.6). Gaining extra audience exclusively from the older age groups and having one of the oldest ABC audience even now Castle will be on the limb.

    I predict that for the rest of the season its demo will fall back to the 1.9-2.0 level of the fall, maybe with a minor jump for the finale. With all the other failures of ABC this year it should be enough for the 6th season. But ABC can afford neither to be the last runner up among the Big Four with its 2.2 average nor to keep shows which are unable to bring even this low level. So either Castle will be able to attract more younger audience from now and in its next season or its only hope is that ABC spirals even further down and they can be the one-eyed among the blinds.

    CBS Mondays are not what they used to be. With DWTS, The Voice and Revolution back, CBS will drop to Number 3.
    The comedy block is not that strong anymore, and H50 has always been a weak performer in an easy spot.

    @Deo I’m pretty sure there was a decrease in the half hour numbers last week and it still got adjusted up. I could be wrong, but I think the adjustments happen to both the half hour numbers and the whole hour average.

    @CBS made a mistake making 2 Broke Girls an anchor it wasn’t ready yet. Honestly CBS should move it to Thursdays after BBT. I have a feeling the Sarah Michelle Gellar-Robin Williams buzzed new comedy for CBS will be on Monday nights.

    This will be biggest bomp from years. Robin Williams is good actor but is 65 years old. Too old even for CBS. Sarah Michelle Gellar is not even funny. But i doubt that will be even pick up from cbs. They pass on martin lawrence multi cam last year and he is real comic and funny. This is single cam so zero chance to be on Monday. 2 BG will stay where it is. Is stronger and hit on its own without ny good lead-in. With better lead-in will be even bigger.

    The Following was entertaining up until this point. I even watched this episode live because the preview last week made it look great. Yeah…it didn’t live up to the hype. Instead they took it in a direction that made it beyond absurd. There is no way that ending would have happened…SWAT would have completely surrounded that house.

    Now watching it there is no suspense, anyone can be part of The Following and used as a plot device to get out of any situation. And I still don’t buy Carrols influence over these people which the viewer has to be strongly attached too to buy the premise of this show as is.

    I also don’t understand how this show feels so much longer than The Walking Dead. Do advertisers just buy up more commercial time on AMC…I don’t get it.

    Apparently, the success of “The Big Bang Theory” reruns means that any broadcast of any CBS show will be judged against new episodes of its competition.

    CBS wont slip to third position, ABC will : ) DWTS won’t pull as good numbers as Bachelor does, plus Revolution will make Castle collapse (or won’t it? maybe it will flop?), of course it also will happen to H50 if Revolution is as powerful as it was.

    I don’t see why people are saying 2BG will be crushed by the voice- it already went up against it and got a season high (4.1) directly against the voice and often hit hight 3s against it- I just think that for some reason it went down but it will most likely go back up again when it is on next

    Hahaha, the ratings of 2 broke girls were “only” 0.3 higher than the next highest show in that time slot. Apparently, any CBS show that doesn’t beat the combined total of it highest and lowest competitors is considered to be “struggling.”

    Why is deception still on ? Also after last night I’m done with The Following …. There’s no reason to watch when it’s redundant . Everyone is on the side of this cult leader …. Cops included . The FBI and police force are complete idiots and always 3 steps behind . How many times can Kevin beacon’s character get beat , slapped , tased , pace maker damn near stopped by people every episode ? Variety in a storyline ? Whatever I’m done with it .
