Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Didn’t watch any of those shows. Played video games instead. I wish the networks would try to put something new on the their channels to grab my attention. I don’t need any reality TV or crime show drama. Think outside the box!

Sarcasm is difficult to convey with inflection. Thought the :) would have given it away. Should have written #sarcasm

Golden Boy was junk and deserves to be cancelled fast. CBS already has a solid NYC cop show and it’s Blue Bloods. Golden Boy’s number 1 in it’s time slot, was because it followed NCIS and NCIS: LA, and/or, the weakness of Body of Proof and Smash. I have never watched Body of Proof or Smash, so I do not want to comment on how good they are (critically speaking), but, their ratings are terrible from week to week.

Vegas is a decent show, but, the lousy ratings mean that it’s all-but-certain to be cancelled.

I, (and many other people), would be very surprised if CSI: NY returns in the fall. The season (series) finale sure felt like the end to me. I think the cast knew they would probably not be returning in September when they filmed that last episode.

I hope Rules of Engagement returns for another season. It’s a good show that delivers good ratings and it has brought in the viewers for the past several years.

I think last night’s two episodes of Off Their Rockers were like clip shows (and maybe other previous episodes?). I saw that they were labeled as “The best of Off Their Rockers.” The ratings look low compared to high 1s it was getting earlier this year.

  • zth

That was last summer. The last originals of Whitney were around 1.3-1.4.

    HoD vs. B&TB fans….always entertaining :D

  • Ultima

Melrose Place was a BS cancelation by the CW

Season averages for the CW in 2009-10

    The Vampire Diaries – 1.7
    Supernatural – 1.2
    Gossip Girl – 1.1
    One Tree Hill – 1.1
    Smallville – 1.0
    90210 – 0.9
    Life Unexpected – 0.9
    Melrose Place – 0.7
The Beautiful Life – 0.5 (pulled after 2 eps)

It’s BS that the CW canceled their 8th highest rated drama so that they could actually premiere more than one show the following season?

I’m convinced that 90% of the people who use the word “flop” have no idea what it means.

Quite disappointing for Golden Boy, but a lot of people did watch it online, which could’ve slightly affected the ratings.

  • SS

Yay HOD. Wade’s journey to find his self worth has just begun.

Too bad for Cult, but I’m enjoying it and will watch it’s full half season (since CW doesn’t usually yank shows early).

  • Lexus

I read that someone from The New Normal crew said on Twitter that they’re working on season 2 already…

“Celebrity Wife Swap wasn’t at 9pm because? I guess ABC doesn’t care much about boosting Body of Proof.”

They pulled Happy Endings and aired it after The Bachelor last week so ABC definitely had good intentions on boosting BOP but it wasted the opportunity. They likely moved The Taste to 9 to move it away from Hell’s Kitchen while attempting to boost The Taste. Honestly, I think ABC is shocked right now how well CWS premiered and they probably feel stupid holding off on premiering it so long.

    @ r0ckmypants

NBC opened experimental TV station in 1930, CBS in 1931. You knock my socks off!

  • SJ

    I wouldn’t call a 1.8 for a CBS premiere OK…

Everything on this night is so weak, there is just nothing left to say here.

  • BigBrotherFan

    Fine I’ll play @fanexcusebingo
CW treated the show like crap…it followed a horrible second season premire of 90210 (show about teens and a soap about 20-somethings just doesn’t work like it used to in a pair).
They pulled it off the air for months upon months.
    They barely promoted it.
    The actual promotions where HORRIBLE.
They should of never held so much clout in Heather and did more to promote the actual story not a half a$$ effort with Heather.
As the CW fanbase is starting to hit mid 20’s THIS SHOULD of been the direction they stayed in in terms of their shows, their fanbase is growing up thus the massive 90210 failure and CARRIE DIARIES
The retool was stupid and not needed. Nick Zano’s character was dumb and made no sense.
CW did nothing to hype it’s return after 4 months off the air!

I’m gonna laugh so hard when CSI:NY gets renewed AGAIN, and you people are like, “Wait, what?” :)

  • Joe

Hart of Dixie will be getting renewed. Hopefully the announcement is ASAP so I can stop being paranoid :)

  • a p garcia

Given a strong promotion by CBS and a strong leadin, a 1.8 is poor. Somebody’s head at CBS sure got a royal chewing out. Wouldn’t it be something if SMASH got better numbers. I predicted a 2.7 optamistic.

  • Petar Ivanov

I think this is one of the worst if not the worst rookie network season from years. Not sure how many.

Ultima, Holly are with more info and they will tell us but so many flops on both dramas and comedies looks like network nightmare. Only new dramas that perform well are Revolution, The following, Elementary. New comedies this season are in worse shape than dramas. CBS NBC fox ABC not sure which will be renew they all are in so bad shape.

And crazy thing is that some reality shows looks better and better. Expext new NBC Eva Longoria reality show to be 2.0+ on sunday and than all other nbc shows will look even worse. But also some old reality shows like TB on abc or TBL on NBC.

  • eridapo

So Basically every other Network besides CBS has given up on Tuesday… Seriously… the two NCIS have more viewers than the rest of the broadcast networks combine…

Once you get past Monday and Thursday (you can even throw Wednesday into the equation), there is not that much to watch.
