THE CW ANNOUNCES SEASON FINALE DATES

FOR ITS PRIMETIME SERIES

February 28, 2013 (Burbank, CA) ? After five seasons of new loves, old flames and shocking betrayals, the stars of 90210 will bid farewell to the world-famous zip code, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW.   With seven original episodes left to air, the show will sign off with a series finale on Monday, May 13 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).

“The CW has had five great seasons with America’s favorite zip code, 90210,” said Pedowitz.  “I’d like to thank the talented cast, producers, and crew for all their hard work and dedication to the series. We are very proud of the West Beverly High alumni.”

During this final season, the characters put their relatively carefree days at West Beverly High behind them and launched into adulthood, with only their friendships to lean on.  The series stars Shenae Grimes as Annie Wilson, Tristan Wilds as Dixon Wilson, AnnaLynne McCord as Naomi Clark, Jessica Stroup as Silver, Michael Steger as Navid Shirazi, Jessica Lowndes as Adrianna Tate-Duncan and Matt Lanter as Liam Court.

    BATB forever!! We believe!!

There are only 2 possible scenarios here. Cult is canceled in both.

    1. The CW cancels one between Beauty and the Beast and The Carrie Diaries. Then renews everything else.

    2. The CW cancels both The Carrie Diaries and Beauty and the Beast, but renews Hart of Dixie.

In both scenarios, Hart of Dixie and Nikita will reach syndication.

I just realized that every year, the CW will choose a new show that they will let reach syndication.

    2007 – GOSSIP GIRL
    2008 – 90210
    2009 – THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
    2010 – NIKITA
    2011 – HART OF DIXIE
2012 – ARROW (probably Beauty and the Beast as well, but very unlikely.)

i’m going to preface this with something. do i watch tcd? yes? will i be heartbroken if it doesn’t return for s2? no.

that being said, i think tcd will renew over batb. cw has pumped alot into tcd being a success. and while its ratings aren’t amazing, they’re stable. no one, including execs at cw, know what the stability of batb is because it has the highest rated show of the net to lead it in.

as i’ve stated a bajillion times, cw should have (and should, from now on until tvd is no longer viable) moved batb to another night for the spring to see how/if it can hold up on its own. (that spot after tvd should be used specifically for launching shows for whichever half season then the show moves to see if it can stand on its own.) while ratings are scantly higher for batb, i still renewal for batb looks minimal.

i think that the net might also see that tcd and hod would pair well and may even feed each other viewers.

there is an argument to be made about cancelling them both, but the issue with that argument is the cw budget and its ability to viably promote that many shows for fall. if anything, i think they’d pick up tcd for 13 in the fall and see how it does paired with hod.

    @gerry,

and while its ratings aren’t amazing, they’re stable.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Ugh all my shows have been cancelled almost besides vampire diaries. I know the ratings are low so it is what it is. However I hope there’s a true ending like gossip girl. I hate when shows you watch for years just end and there’s no closure.

That sucks I love this show.. I followed the first series to the end and this one as well :(..

CW sucks now!! all their new shows this year except arrow are crap! biggest mistake was cancelling secret circle
