Correction: an earlier version of this story incorrectly noted that last night was American Idol's lowest viewership since 2002. It wasn't, it was just the lowest viewership for a *Wednesday* telecast since 2002.

FOX was the number one network in adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On FOX, American Idol scored a 3.8 down three tenths from last week's  4.1 adults 18-49 rating. This is the series' lowest adults 18-49 rating for a Wednesday  since July 3, 2003  and its smallest total viewership for a Wednesday telecast since August 14, 2002

On CBS, Survivor: Caramoan: Fans vs Favorites earned a 2.6, up two tenths from a 2.4 adults 18-49 for last week.. Criminal Minds was even with last week's series low 2.6 .CSI garnered a series low 1.8 from last week's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, The Middle earned a 2.1, down two tenths from last week's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.  The Neighbors scored a 1.7, down two tenths from last week's 1.9 adults 18-49 rating. Modern Family garnered a 3.9, down a tenth from last week's 4.0 adults 18-49 rating. Suburgatory notched a 2.3, up three tenths from last week's 2.0 adults 18-49 rating. Nashville  earned a series low 1.6 down two tenths  from its last original's 1.8 two weeks ago

On NBC, Whitney earned a 1.2, up a tenth from last week's 1.1 adults 18-49 rating. The Guys With Kids season (maybe, series) finale garnered a 1.1, up a tenth from last week's series low 1.0 adults 18-49 rating. Law & Order SVU was flat with last week's 1.6 adults 18-49. Chicago Fire was also even with last week's 1.9 adults 18-49 rating.

On the CW, Arrow garnered a 1.0, up a tenth from last week's 0.9 adults 18-49 rating. Supernatural was even with last week's 0.9 adults 18-49 rating.

Late-night results are below the primetime data.

Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Suburgatory’s momentum should come to a big halt next week, its airing after a Modern Family repeat, I’m expecting a bit tumble

To be honest with you I am liking this panel quite a bit. I think they are meshing well but somewhere in my mind if FOX reunited Randy-Paula-Simon ratings would skyrocket.

@JONNYSBRO: The current judges on AI have 0 chemistry together, I am pretty sure The Voice will destroy it when it comes back.

  • Devin

Nashville has gotten better every week. I hope it comes back but ABC looks like they have some strong new dramas in the can for the fall.

  • dorma

Yes! The Middle went down :D

  • AaronExplicable

Maybe at this rate AI will finally disappear in a few years.

@My guess is that CBS pushes CM to 10, pushes CSI to Friday/Sunday, and moves one of the NCIS shows to Wed.

I think POI to wednesday at 8 beverly hills cop at 9 and CM at 10.

Suvivor to sunday and csi back to where started to ended friday.

ncis la without ncis in other day can collapse. Tuesday is day with zero competition. Althou wednesday is not so tough day but its not the same.

    I guess this week it’s

    New Girl >> The Middle

  • Rebecca

Cosby’s Rudy and Vanessa on GWK last night! Enjoyed it along with Middle, Neighbors and MF. Just watched Psych online. About to go watch SPN. Hoping Community does better tonight since TBBT is a rerun.

  • Bob

American Idol is still doing extremely well. When all the NBC shows are in the 1’s. ABC shows (except a small few) are in the 2’s. CBS is doing great all around but still lower then when American Idol was getting high ratings. EVERYTHING IS DOWN so I expect American Idol to be down too. Percentage wise American Idol is down like the other shows. American Idol will end up being on TV longer than MOST shows.

@Maybe at this rate AI will finally disappear in a few years.

Or will be move to summer. I really not see how x factor will continue to be 2 day for a week. WIll drop below 2 for result show. They can try 2 hours for a week in my opinion or move result show in 9 pm. But again will be disaster.

  • Hillbilly

Nielsen’s people meters must have been hit with the same bug TVBTN was. They didn’t get Nashville’s ratings right. ;)

  • BigBrotherFan

Way to go stupid ABC for premeting NASHVILLE last week for your STUPID OSCAR SPECIAL that did laughable. Hate you ABC and your stupid sched.
Thanks so much for giving CHICAGO FIRE the edge now just when NASHVILLE was picking up steam! agh They wouldn’t know something good if it smacked them in their face.
..but by all means, lets make sure THE NEIGHBOURS follows a perfect sched!
SCREW YOU ABC for killing your GREAT shows!

When i premired last year it wasn’t exactly a ratings HIT but CBS promoted the heck out of it because they knew they had a WINNER on their hands. Also didn’t sched. in THE DUMBEST of “break” sched. and LOOK AT IT NOW..It’s pretty much a hit or their BELOVED ABC SCANDAL! AGH!!!

  • The Rookie

CM is missing Paget Brewster. Her acting and chemistry with the other cast members is superb. Time to get her for the season finale. We need Prentiss back and to continue with good storylines.

At this pace can not see the show running more than 9 seasons.

  • BigBrotherFan

I really REALLY hope SUBERGATORY falls to low 1’S without MF as a lead-in. MAYBE THEN NASHVILLE will get a proper lead-in THAT REVENGE(S2) AND SCANDAL HAVE GOTTEN from the start!

  • Buddy

Nashville is doomed. I think people have been way too optimistic predicting its renewal chances. I just don’t see ABC renewing a show consistently below the 2.0 mark even in the 10:00 PM hour. Scandal was at almost exactly a 2.0 when it got renewed. Castle dips below a 2.0 often, but can really bounce back on stronger weeks, giving it a more impressive average. Nashville has been stagnant and fading fast. No doubt, it would tank even if given a pity renewal. Mostly likely ABC would only do so to save face and avoid canceling all of their new dramas (isn’t that how V got renewed?).

  • Hardline_Pro

CSI will be on Friday next year.

  • Danielle

    Suburgatory up, yay!

  • BigBrotherFan

Why can’t you guys put a picture of someone maybe….more attractive in your pictures? I don’t know who that guy is and he’s weird looking. You always pick the strangest pictures for your ratings report. lol

May I suggest NIKKI MINAJ for tommorow picture? or Mariah?

  • Danielle

And Suburgatory waired without modern family last season, and succeeded, so shut up haters.
