@Bsotgnw
In general if you look at polls the UK system still has favorable support from the citizens. Sure the system may have some issues but a large majority are in favor of keeping the system and fixing it through various ways(tax increases, cutting spending elsewhere, etc) then just completely getting rid of it.
here is a recent article from the daily mail
“The British public has fallen out of love with the NHS in dramatic fashion, according to a ‘social attitudes’ report.
Satisfaction with the way the health service is run fell from 70 per cent in 2010 to 58 per cent in 2011, the survey published by the King’s Fund, found.
The authors of the report said the drop was the biggest fall in one year since the survey began in 1983.”
As bad as some things are going with the system it still has a 58% approval rating
@Cathy “Good day for fox”
Actually it was a great day for CNN’s sister station HLN in the key demo.
HLN’s Evening Express actually beat Fox’s The Five and Bret Baier. They also beat MSNBC at 7 and 8pm.
@Michael1

It’s been a while since any party has done that well in senate races, but for some reason, they didn’t translate into Obama victories.
————————-
I think i general the Democrats are much better picking candidates in “red” states who are just enough to the left that they still can win(ie moderates or blue dogs). Republicans on the other hand stupidly pick the most extreme candidate and then wonder why they lose easy seats that should be theres(see Akin and Mourdoch)
Mark,
There may be a political price to pay … the 2014 election . IF, there is snafu ,after snafu, IF costs go up, IF there aren’t enough doctors, IF the doctors will not take Medicaid patients, IF previously enrolled people don’t get care they feel is as good as what they had, IF jobs are lost , or , hours are decresed to 20 hours of work , IF DME prices rise because of new tax , IF young people just pay the penalty , IF you lose your employer healthcare, IF your dental visits cost more because of dentists DME , IF your hospital doesn’t readmit you for complications of last visit to save $125,000 penalty , IF patients don’t mind having telecommination online doctor visits at Rite Aide for common illnesses, seeing a pharmacist or N.P. at CVS , or N.P. , P.A.’s in place of more doctor visits at their offices , IF the healthcare exchanges don’t go smoothly , IF there is crony capitalism , union, i.e., …… see, how the Dems could pay a price ?

Report: Cost Of Obama’s Green-Car Mandate Will Add $10K To Vehicle Price, Eliminate 260,000 Jobs…
One of world’s most respected automotive research firms that reveals that President Obama’s radical CAFE mandate that vehicles average — average! — 62 MPG by 2025 “could force vehicle prices up by nearly $10,000, reduce sales by 5.5 million vehicles annually, and eliminate more than 260,000 jobs.” -
The Michigan-based Center for Automotive Research and the 260,000 job loss figure (consistent with past job losses from CAFE rule hikes) is another dent in White House’s propaganda that Green creates jobs

Have a good night.
This just in: Michelle Obama’s campaign for healthier kids in schools is working. She appeared on Dr. Oz’s show yesterday. This is already making a difference in keeping kids healthy and helping them eat the right foods for proper health–which will DECREASE healthcare in the future………
Fox Fake News and Rupert’s WSJ have not run this story yet…..
Oil Companies continue to gouge consumers as oil prices hit lows, demand decreases in US, China and India, and US Oil production equals that of Saudi Arabia. The ruse under which this is happening is “changing refineries over to summer grade gas.”
Truck Fleets are now being switched to natural gas, saving a fortune. In 3 years, 30% of all heavy trucks will use natural gas. Big changes are coming.
With the right wing GOP philosophy being abhorred by most Americans, the only hope the GOP has of winning House elections is gerrymandering and voter suppression, which are the two key strategies of the current GOP.
While D.D. and the right wing is content with 100% increases every 10 years in healthcare, most Americans are not. Obama’s progressive stance is already saving billions and will save much more. Just the focus on wellness will save hundreds of billions. Get ready for any end to insurance companies, medical device mfrs, drug companies, and healthcare service companies bilking Americans on healthcare. The analogy: “how are going to keep them down on the farm after they have seen Paris” holds here…….
US,
Where is the proof costs are lower? You have been saying that but I have not seen it anywhere
how did hln do against hannity?
Don’t forget—the GOP was against Social Security and Medicare at the beginning and tried to defeat these systems which the vast majority of Amiercans (dem and repub) LOVE now. Of course, the right wing John Birch type GOP is still against these systems as they are against all government program. But they are in the vast minority…… Obamacare will lead to a much more efficient, better and less expensive healthcare system which Americans will embrace just like they do Social Security and Medicare today….
LOL @usa
When it saves money I will be the first to credit him. The Mets are going to win the World Series this year too, but I want to see it before they get the credit for it
If I could opt out of SS and Medicare I would. I’m paying in and EVERY study shows it won’t be there when I retire.
Imagine if some politician decides to raid it again for the general fund.
This just in: It looks like Colo will pass gun control bills, in which case a gun mrf there will move out (just to save face with La Pierre). Same thing is true in Maryland. They may move to Mississippi or Texas. Who will be the Plant GM:? BUBBA…..
Mr. Gone—I’ll give you a hundred dollar bill if you will give me a thousand dollar bill. Deal???? I hate to say this but you sound like the kind of guy who buys high and sells low….hope not…Soc Security and Medicare will be fine…..
This just in: looks like Obama will support the Keystone pipeline….
Well I guess them cleaning up the bugs on the site was only 99% effective. They didn’t get rid of the Dung Beetle. Therefore………….IDIOT ALERT!!!!!
This just in: Las Vegas Sands Corporation billionaire own Adelson (the same guy who bought $100 million of false advertising for Robme) says in regulatory filing that he “probably” bribed foreign officials which is agins US federal law……
