The February 28th episode of Piers Morgan Tonight, which featured an exclusive interview with Gus Searcy, the mentor of Jodi Arias suffered a yearly low in the key 25-54 demographic with only 87,000 viewers. The show is down 27% in total viewers and 38% in the demo from its debut in Jan. 17th, 2011.
Piers Morgan Tonight also had the lowest demo in its time slot and was even beat by HLN’s Dr. Drew (with 208,000).

As a brit I can confirm that he is not like most brits – please don’t send him home – we don’t want him either – I can just imagine the reception over here if Jerry Springer came over and started telling us that we had to close all our pubs cos they are bad for us … and actually Jerry Springer is fairly well tollerated here!
So CNN is still on TV…Who knew?

How dare he presume to try and speak for any American, even if 84,000 in the entire contrary actually tuned in … I’m sure most of those people tuned in because the were interested in the Arias case and not to hear his arrogant, snide remarks.

The British are not at all arrogant so cut it out. There are many american tv personalities that I can’t stand but that doesn’t mean everyone in America is like that.
As others have said here we too hate the man here in Britian, if only he would come back and face the phone hacking allegations would love to see him locked up.
Low ratings alone don’t seem to cause a cable news program to be canceled. As a matter of fact, the Cancellation Bear appears to those behind low-rated programs like a little girl bear in a red dress holding a lollipop (i.e. Bearlie Temple).

How CNN has gone from the premium quality of Bernard Shaw to the low caliber likes of Piers Morgan is totally baffling to me. There was a time all I watched for cable news was CNN. Those were the days of CNN journalists like Bernard Shaw, Judy Woodruff, Lou Dobbs, David Gergen, Robert Novak, Pat Buchanan, Rowland Evans, Mark Shields etc. and shows like Crossfire, Capital Gang, Evans & Novak or Lou Dobbs Tonight. Back then Candy Crowley was fresh and interesting. Today CNN’s exciting lineup included Wolf Blitzer, more Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper and more Anderson Cooper, Erin Burnett, Piers ‘is there anything else on’ Morgan, Candy Crowley and an assortment of spectacularly unspectacular hosts, reporters and guests. I have stopped watching CNN and generally get my news off the internet these days. Do the executives at CNN actually believe that Erin Burnett, Wolf Blitzer, Piers Morgan and Anderson Cooper are what Americans want to watch? Sorry CNN, America thinks you lineup stinks and your ratings prove it. Please do something to make CNN worth watching again. Honestly CNN has become like a sick pet that needs help fast.
