@timsdale Have to agree with you on the Sharon/Faith thing. High heeled boots and a jacket that barely covered her. I couldn’t understand why the kid ran away. The kid must be as looney as the mother. Also amuses me that in the middle of a snowstorm the women in this show walk around in sleeveless and backless shirts/dresses. But, that side, I am enjoying the show more now. Glad to see Lauren getting herself a little Carmine.

  • jonboyelk

As for GH I expected even higher ratings with the return of Laura and Scotty. Wasn’t this the week they returned?

  • Mike

Laura returned the week before….her return was the highest rated episode that week but still not as high as Frisco’s return. She returned on Feb 11.

Here are the dailies for that week (for GH)

    Monday: 2.1/2,913,000
    Tuesday: 2.0/2,674,000
    Wednesday: 1.9/2,510,000
    Thursday: 1.8/2,472,000
    Friday: 2.0/2,643,000

I didn’t even realize that was when she was returning but several pointed it out last week in some of the ratings threads at other sites.

NOW THATS SEE WHAT GH HAS FOR US THIS WEEK WITH THAT VAMP STORYLINE OVER

  • jonboyelk

@bizzarr Looks like its not over. Only on GH can a dagger go through the heart and the victim lives to fight another day.

  • bizzarr

@jonboyelk i think there just giving the fans who like that storyline an open and in case they cant use easton has john they have a way to use him butt i think that storyline is over i hope JOHN takes young RAFE IN

  • Mike

Overall not a bad Feb sweeps for soaps but not an impressive one either.

  • Jeff

GH should rock very soon. 50th anniversary at end of month and Ingo and Vanessa back. She normally helps spike the ratings, and with a talented writer and producer, she should sizzle like she used to. And, Johnny out, which is great news. Time to send away Kristina, and hopefully Sabrina will be soon to follow.

  • TimsDale4ever

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.zzzzzzz.zzzz.zzz.zzz.z Well it’s about half way through another week and I’m still waiting for something, anything, to happen on Y&R. Why does this show have to explain EVERYTHING to the Nth degree COMBINED with the fact for the most part that what they are talking about is boring to boot? Viewers are not stupid — we can figure things out on our on. There’s just not enough action on this excessively conversational show. Yo Josh: LESS TALK AND SOME MORE ACTION!!!

Dang…. at this point I would love to see Daisy or Ricky come back, At least there was some heat going on around these 2. ?????

SO Y&R FANS ABBY AKA EMME RYLAN HAS BEEN CAST TO PLAY THE NEW LULU ON GH IM A BIG FAN OF EMME RYLAN

  • MBmomof3

Glad to see all the soaps doing so well. I’ve really been enjoying them.

Not to be too picky, but I agree that Sharon hiking in the woods in Wisconsin in February dressed in high heels and light jacket is ridiculous. That is the one thing that consistently bugs me on YR is the inappropriate wardrobe. You can be fashion forward and realistic. Sleeveless, backless and braless in corporate WI in the winter? Just saying…

  • Jeff

ABC and CBS need to honor GH and YR with a primetime show (2 hours for each). If you look at primetime ratings, they are essentially disasters these days, and a clip show of their soaps with some interviews wouldn’t cost much, would do at least as good as their horrible primetime lineups (especially ABC), and promote their soaps all at the same time. Let’s get with the program network execs.

  • MBmomof3

Jeff, I like your idea and I think even a 1 hour tribute show for each is in order. I remember when NBC did primetime DOOL specials. I think ABC may have also done this. I believe I read that NBC primetime is in lower than last place in ratings. Not sure how that is possible, but a primetime DOOL special couldn’t hurt. I’d watch. lol

  • jonboyelk

@timsdale You’re just way too harsh on the subject of Y&R, dude. I’m actually enjoying it. I like the slow pace. Sorry. BUT, I gotta comment….do you notice EVERY time Victor bestows another piece of token jewelry on Nikki she reacts like its the very first time she ever saw one???? LOL!!

  • bizzarr

THAT WOULD BE GREAT PRIMETIME BUTT WONT HAPPEN GH Y&R

  • TimsDale4ever

It’s ok jon — I know I drive some of you crazy. I just miss how amazing this show used to be….. like when Jill stole Phillip 2nd away from Katherine who then wanted nothing but revenge; or when Suzanne Lynch drugged Katherine for months to steal her estate; or when Lori and Lance were trying to get together and the b!tch soon to be mother in law Vanessa committed suicide to try to prevent them from marrying; or when teenager Phillip came back and moved in with Kay instead of Jill (Brenda Dickson — Jess Walton’s Jill is a huge joke) which ignited their war all over again; and the entire crazy Sheila and Lauren storyline. It was all just so incredibly interesting and perfectly put together where most eveything made sense as well. Yes the show moved very slowly back then as well but because the stories were so rich you didn’t care because you were savoring all of it. The show today reminds me of the clips on Youtube of shows in the 50′s where all the characters sit around a kitchen table and drink coffee and do nothing but talk. I’m sorry, but it will always be a pet peeve of mine to know that this BRILLIANT show was destroyed unnecessarily and no one anywhere seems to be the wiser.

  • jonboyelk

@timsdale Such memories! Loved it all. The Jill recast always irked me. Even Deborah Adair was better than Walton, but Dicksons portrayal was campy good fun….and she was a sexpot. I had a hard time ever thinking of Walnut as sexy. Ruined a classic character. I even recall those great Brooks sister stories: Lorie undermining her fragile pianist sister Leslie, Chris’ rape by Ron Becker who later did the same to her shy sister Peggy, their mothers breast cancer storyline, so much good stuff….

  • Sophie

I loved todays show on GH… Great job bringing all these great Vets back.
What a GREAT SHOW!!!! Thanks GH!!! The ratings are sure to rise. Love these
    new writers!

  • TimsDale4ever

Can I call it or what?– look at my first post this week about having the same storylines all at once. Now everyone is sick: Nikki with MS, Katherine with dementia I assume, and now Dylan’s father (who we’ve NEVER seen before) is sick. Who’s next Josh? Let’s make Michael sick so Lauren will return to him, let’s make Dylan sick so twit Lily will finally jump his bones. Oh I know – let’s make Adam sick so that Chelsea will tell him she’s pregnant. ENOUGH with the illnesses already…..

  • jonboyelk

@timsdale And I was home two days with the flu. Does that count? Cripes, these people are making me ill.
