In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday night:

Note coming soon

Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Hostages/The Ordained/The Surgeon General would do no worse then Csi Ny in fact they could do much better.

  • Billy

    Good to see LMS rising. I hope it gets renewed.

  • Dan S

    Regarding Touch I agree the show has gotten much better. Unfortunately it isn’t only dead in the ratings but I read where Kiefer Sutherland is starring in a pilot but he wouldn’t be the main star. When actors start shopping around you know their show is dead. Only question is if Kiefer will ever reprise his Jack Bauer role for the big screen ?

  • Ultima

    @Ray
    We know that overall viewers don’t matter when it comes to renewal. We know that syndication is a powerful force. Do overall viewers matter when it comes to decisions about syndication?

    With a handful of exceptions (like premium networks), overall viewers never matter.

    However, a show’s first run performance in demos other than A18-49 (e.g. A25-54, M18-49, etc.) might be important to whoever is buying it for syndication, because they probably have specific target audiences in mind.

    @dave
    CBS was all reruns no idea why they only station all reruns lastnight.

    Sweeps is over and CBS has a new show moving to Friday next week.

  • Justin121

    TV By the FLOPS :D

    I honestly thought you turned off the commenting system due to all the (FLOP) trolling :D

  • Justin121

  • BigBrotherFan

    REBA OWES BLAKE A BIG THANK YOU!

    Nikita NIKITA :( I wish it gets adjusted up to a .4
    Touch WHAT A JOKE!
    When does that GRIMM show come back, I don’t watch it, but have I missed something? has it been canned?

  • BigBrotherFan

    @TVBYTHENUMBERS

    Get a RED WINDOW poll up..I think it’s gonna do bad tonight
    1.4-1.6

  • Ultima

    @BigBrotherFan
    When does that GRIMM show come back

    Next Friday.

  • Peg Sims

    Why do people pick at shows they do not like? Other people like them. I do not like LMS or Shark Tank but love Malibu Country. I just do not see picking at the ones I do not like. I do agree with William about MC and hope it does get a pick me up and ABC keeps it around for another season. I do agree it needs promo shoots during LMS so viewers will be inclined to stay on ABC. I think Chris Rich would be a good guest on this show. He and Reba have great on screen chemistry and can be so funny together.

    last man standing was great friday, not surprised it did well. if that show was on any other day of the week i think it would do fine. last year it held its own all season. i think abc may not like it or tim allen or something. that show didnt belong on friday based on last years numbers but look at that, its been number one in its slot 3 out of the last 5 weeks.

  • tommie

    I watched the Red Widow pilot – I don’t think it’s particularly strong, but I will give the second episode a shot.

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Ultima

    Thanks.

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Tommie

    I never watch these things online and I’m hoping it FLOPS hard for NASHVILLES sake. I’m still PVRing it, though. Revenge isn’t exactly a strong lead-in for a new show, though next week.

  • Hi

    Where I can see Nikita’s A25-54 ratings?

  • Paul

    That bump for LMS and Malibu Country might have just sealed a second season. They need to keep those ratings.

    @ Jon

    Ya, he is a character that we love to hate, but that is why he is there. Mike can make fun of him and its considered funny. It kinda reminds me of All in the Family and the dynamic between Archie and Mike.

    As for the cast change, she has fit in very well. I think I like her more than the previous actress.

    The writing this season had been very good and so has the actors performance. I think the writers have figured out what works and what doesn’t and are using the cast based on their strengths. Take Kyle for example, he wasn’t this stupid last season, but it works cuz the actor has been able to sell it. Another example is Mike, his character is much different this season compared to last, but again it works cuz Tim Allen has been able to sell it really, really well.

    Finally, the dodgeball episode…enough said…lol

  • Mary

    I think the cast of Malibu Country is well chosen. They seem to work well together. I hope it comes back for many seasons. Sometimes, a different type show is just what tv viewers need to break the monotony of a boring tv schedule. Hope the renewal is announced soon.

  • Marc

    I think ABC would do well with:

    8 Last Man Standing
    830 girl Meets World (From Disney)
    9 Malibu Country
    930 Guys w Kids (From NBC)

    That’s a solid 2 hours my whole family could watch for once.
