Put it this way: If your family is bringing in $200,000/yr, the economy is the best it’s ever been. You got half price waterfront property and real estate deals into oblivion; for business owners you have cheap and desperate labor. The GOP will continue to strangle the economy moving forward. They crashed it, and now they will trample it.

Also, this rather abstract notion that we should balance the budget, and the economy will automatically rebound is an invisible notion. How about this invisible idea: Let’s get the economy back, and the problem takes care of itself. Hey, at least with this invisible theory, you can envision more tax revenue based on the fact that people will actually have taxable income. Hey, there you go. BTW, I used to be a Republican.

    Mike W

USA888 is a self prolaimed 4 th grade graduate stop picking on her!

  • usa8888

MIke W. –obviously you have not attended college and have little education AND are a certified right winger…..

  • usa8888

BS–otgnw–you are like rat–devoid of any ability to respond to simple questions because you don’t have a 6th grade education…

  • Ratboy

@ Put it this way: If your family is bringing in $200,000/yr, the economy is the best it’s ever been. You got half price waterfront property and real estate deals into oblivion; for business owners you have cheap and desperate labor

Someone has been sipping the happy juice

  • usa8888

db–cooper maybe–another lost right winger with little or no education…..

  • AM

Yeah Ratboy. That’s crazy isn’t it; fitting name, btw. I will enjoy using it.

  • usa8888

The key thing with right wingers is that they have virtually NO education and can not answer simple questions….Always remember–Obama got 53 million votes, Billo got 2-3 mm viewers….

  • usa8888

Rat can’t answer any questions but he has attended grade school….

  • usa8888

Mickey O–raising taxes on the rich during a recession has NO affect on job growth because these people do NOT create jobs in a recession BECAUSE there is no consumer demand….and hence no reason for the rich to build plants and hire people…This ia all so simple but if you have the mind of a moron with no education (like most right wingers), it’s difficult, I guess,…

  • usa8888

Obama is asking the right wing to do what Robme asked for —close tax loopholes on the rich–like private jet and yacht subsidies. Any objections from the right wingers???

  • AM

The most hardcore Fox News cheerleaders like to gather here, and think that somehow ratings are an indicator of the next election. More misguidance. Their lives are filled with it.

  • Mike W

    usa8888

Don’t you see that you never make an argument based on the merits. You seem to only make personal attacks. I feel sorry for you but not offended.

  • Bobbyv

    US/AM,

I am not a hardcore cheerleader, I just want responsibility from this White House. It is going on 5 years and the economy is still bad so we cannot cut spending and unemployment is higher than the President said it would be. It may get better, may not, but he has to take the responsibility for it. As I point out, he has been compared to Lincoln who had it much tougher but took the onus on himself.

  • AM

Here’s an argument with merit: When Obama won the election, Fox News won the ratings battle. Here’s another argument with merit: Fox News repels myself and other reformed GOPers, and will be a long, long time before I ever vote GOP again. I’ve got another one: the GOP is slowly dieing and Fox News is to blame.

  • Bobbyv

    AM,

So Fox has that much power that they are bringing down the entire GOP? Most on here talk about how bad their ratings are and how few watch them compared to the rest of the media

  • mikey o

@usa8888 Oh yes the old saying the rich dont spend money, buy houses , fix , repair homes, vaction, new cars, boats, go out to eat they just live in a bubble hoard the money. Yes just keep taxing the rich just look at maryland’s millionare tax. They have less millionare now, guess what happen they left the state. So whats does Maryland do they raised taxes last year on people making 100,000 dollars or more. I guess that’s the new rich in maryland. Shouldn’t be like this now we spent the 800 billion Obama wanted , but its a failure by Obama’s own standard.

  • AM

Newsflash Bobby: Fox News is the GOP. Roger Ailes runs the GOP. He’s the human version of Jaba the Hut.

  • Cathy

But USA8888 I do know advanced calculus. I’d like you to refresh my memory.

For the economy are you saying that if the U.S. government stopped spending the U.S. economy would DIE. That the only thing that keeps our economy going is the U.S. government?

If there are not enough people with money to “drive” it properly to prosperity. How does increasing taxes help enable the economy? How does the government taking money out of the hands of the people help the economy?

Would it not be better if the government decreased regulations, decreased taxes on business so businesses had more money to invest and making it easier for people to start new businesses?

Are you saying that we have no consumer demand in the current economy? Are you saying creating demand is as easy as giving people money?
Are you saying that the U.S. government has been putting money into the economy in the proper place. Obama’s last trillion created only 400 jobs. That money would have been better spent if Obama would have given $317 to every person in the U.S.

  • Bobbyv

    AM,

So who is the media version of the DNC and why are they not sinking the Dems? It sounds like you have an issue with the GOP first and then Fox since they are the messenger
