@Nick LMS was on tuesday last year and averaged a 2.5 rating there. I say keep it on Friday but expand to two hours next year. I wouldn’t mind seeing The Neighbors and maybe some other comedy on there as well.
The reason LMS was moved from Tuesday night to Friday night was the line-up they were against…they had the misfortune of bumping up against not just one popular returning show, but two popular returning shows. When people are already watching shows they like, it’s hard to steal viewers…at least LMS is moving up in the ratings on Friday…they were like 4th for the night…now only Shark Tank beat them at 9:00 PM…it’s hard for a new show to open the night…so, I’d say LMS is doing just fine…so far…no 8s like Tim did with Home Improvement, but look at most of the shows on these days…they’re right in the mix.
This may seem stupid, but if Nikita is pulling those ratings again with the exact demo as 90210, Mark Pedowitz may just pull the plug. He didn’t hesitate with 90210 even though he hinted at a short final season. I think Nikita may be over at this point.
Wow, Nikita is huge! Suck it haters! 1.01 A18-49 that is incredible for Friday show, especially on CW. Season 4 incoming
Jarrod: “This may seem stupid”
Yup…
“but if Nikita is pulling those ratings again with the exact demo as 90210, Mark Pedowitz may just pull the plug. He didn’t hesitate with 90210 even though he hinted at a short final season. I think Nikita may be over at this point.”
The difference is Nikita hasn’t made syndication episodes yet. 90210 did. Therefore there was no reason to renew 90210 with abysmal numbers since it already had enough episodes for syndication.
As long as WB pays the CW to air Nikita and the CW can’t see a way to make more money by canceling it, Nikita stays on the air until it reaches 88 episodes – which will be end of next season.
Bizarro: “the CW might as well tell the writers and the fans that the fourth will be its final season when they announce its renewal and tell them to wrap it up to give the fans a satisfying ending.”
Maggie Q has already said that four seasons would be enough to wrap it up, so clearly that’s the plan. The only reason they would get a fifth season would be to get additional episodes to reach 100 a la Fringe. Very unlikely given Nikita’s ratings will probably be at 90210′s ratings in season four and 90210 was canceled because it already had enough episodes for syndication.
I’m fine with just one more season after this one.
Keep Malibu Country on the air. It is the cloest thing to a cleaner type family show!!!-
Malibu Country is getting better every week. They need to keep putting on decent guest stars. It’s great to have Reba back on television. I hope it is picked up for another season.
