Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

ABC — the does AnyBodyCare network — has done it again. With so many pre-emptions already in that time slot why would they premier a new show there and expect ratings? ABC has no respect for their audience and they’re getting what they deserve. Glad to see “Good Wife” ratings improve — much better writing and acting vs. the silly faux-revenge of the uber-rich.

  • Joe

Okay, gotta give my two cents on last nights shows…

The Good Wife still looks weak but to be honest it’s not much weaker than most shows as only 3 shows were above 2.0 demos…this night is looking like Fridays isn’t it?

OUAT is tanking…but I don’t blame ABC so much as the story lines are just ridiculous…I fast forwarded through quite a bit of last nights episode, the show has been sucking royally all season long and the ratings prove it.

Simpsons is down but still big enough for this night

Family Guy is the biggest show on this night….sad that an old show like this repeats and wins its timeslot

TAR while down is again taking down another ABC show…first it was Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, now it’s OUAT….oh ABC tsk, tsk, tsk

    Celebrity Aprentice is dead period

    Red Widow is also dead

  • Wayneosworld

Wow at ABC’s decline on Sunday nights. When will they learn? They should have kept Brothers and Sisters for another year and renewed GCB last season and this year is even worse. Perhaps time to move Scandal to Sunday at 9pm to boost Revenge at 10pm?

  • Jo

Be interesting to see numbers for The Walking Dead and The Bible, no doubt hurt the networks.

  • SarahL

What is happening to OUAT? It is still very good.

  • kbmv

The Walking dead owns everything. Probably got another 5.6-5.9.

  • THE OLD MAN

First off, 1.8 for the highest nightly average is serious CAUSE FOR ALARM

Watched OUAT last night for the 1st time this year & all I can say is What Happened? Red Widow is abysmal at best but can ABC actually pull a 2 ep’s & it’s gone? Unlikely

NBC is again the biggest loser as the reality of their all reality sched kicks in

TAR back up again & TGW is looking good w/ a 1.6 as CBS ties 18-49–GO CBS!!

  • A.C.

Good to see AMAZING RACE reclaiming the 8PM slot lost to ONCE UPON A TIME a year or so ago.

  • Jordan

Glad to see The Good Wife rise. But I have a question. The Good Wife and Celebrity Apprentice tied in the 18-49 demo for winning the 9pm hour. In this case, which is better? A 1.6 for CA and fewer viewers (meaning there is a higher percentage of adults 18-49 filling that total), or the 1.6 for TGW with more viewers (and less viewers 18-49 in that coveted demo)?

  • Skylar James

@Wayneosworld: Scandal would bomb big time on Sundays with all the irregular scheduling. ABC should not be moving any of their hit dramas to Sundays

  • BigBrotherFan

WHY are people saying CA is dead!? YEAH it’s down BUT NBC is likely THRILLED with a 1.6 rating and it went up in it’s second half. A 1.6 most surely be WITHIN NBC average MINUS SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.

That READY FOR LOVE looks like it’s READY TO FLOP!

  • frodo

ABC killed their Sunday line up with their awful scheduling, looks like Revenge and Once will really struggle now.
    Red Widow is gone!!!

  • Fred

OUAT was amazing last night. Hope all the missing fans will catch up with it again. The show was a bit boring earlier this season, but all is well now. Whenever OUAT focuses on Cora, Regina,Hook and of course Rumpelstiltskin OUAT is on fire. Like it has been recently.

I fell asleep 10:30 while watching the mediocre Red Widow, that NEVER happened with me when 666 Park Ave was on. Come on ABC, please air the remaining eps soon!

  • the_trouble_with_the_truth

Wow, abc Sunday tied its Friday 18-49. Makes the friday line up look pretty sweet!

  • matt

Celebrity Apprentice Flop. No one cares about Trump anymore

  • Wright

What the hell is going on with OUAT? It’s a good show. Why are the ratings going down?

  • Holly

    @Jordan,

But I have a question. The Good Wife and Celebrity Apprentice tied in the 18-49 demo for winning the 9pm hour. In this case, which is better? A

The real difference isn’t in the the viewers or demo, it’s in the cost. CA is better off with a 1.6 than Good Wife because it is much cheaper.

  • Rebecca

Looks like a tenth of the Nielsen viewers watching OUAT last night stopped watching in the second half hour, which is too bad because that’s when it seemed to get really good IMO. The show has at least another season in it, so I’m not worried about its renewal.

No new Bubble Watch yesterday? Did things just not change much since the last one?

  • K

Yay for TAR, A great episode in a beautiful part of the World (New Zealand)

Yay also for TGW, and The Cleveland Show, which is much funnier than lame Bob’s Burgers. This bolds well for The Cleveland Show to be renewed

  • Rebecca

I agree with Fred….bring back the rest of 666PA soon. I saw maybe the first 15-20 minutes of Red Widow before turning it off (wasn’t exciting enough that early on).
