48 HOURS: “The Usual Suspect” was Saturday’s #1 program in both households and viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for March 2, 2013.

At 10:00 PM, 48 HOURS was first in adults 25-54 (1.6/04), the demographic most important to those who advertise in news, as well as viewers (5.88m), adults 18-49 (1.0/03), and households (4.0/07).

Saturday’s broadcast featured Correspondent Maureen Maher and the 48 HOURS team’s investigation into the murder of a Memphis businesswoman, Tina Caronna. It is a story filled with betrayal, fast cars and a secret double life. Caronna was killed and left in her Chevrolet Avalanche on the side of the road. The police investigation exposed her husband Joe Caronna’s double life, which included a history of financial fraud and a mistress. The mistress wore a wire to help police. Close friends of the family would ultimately provide a key piece of information that helped lead to the arrest and prosecution of Joe Caronna for his wife’s murder.

48 HOURS: “The Usual Suspect” is produced by Sara Ely Hulse and Ruth Chenetz. Charlotte Fuller is the associate producer. Gregory F. McLaughlin is the producer/editor. Robert Orozovich, Gary Winter, Marcus Balsam and Kevin Dean are the editors. Al Briganti is the executive editor. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
