The Cancellation Bear has been asked lots of questions about why Glee wasn't among the shows renewed by Fox yesterday (none of which were any surprise). The bear assumes it's due to contractual wrangling, but that's just a guess, the bear doesn't work via "inside information". The bear would be startled if Glee wasn't renewed
Where the heck is The Goodwin Games? In an update last week, it's premiere was announced for May 20. May 20? Yep, it's certain to be canceled already, but that's for next week's headline.
Better to Follow The Bear, Than Be Chased By Him. This season you can follow the Cancellation Bear on Twitter via @TheCancelBear. The Cancellation Bear will retweet all the Renew/Cancel Index post titles and links as well as engage in a little more back and forth banter than we do on our standard @TVbytheNumbers Twitter feed.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.
From now through the end of the broadcast season in May, the Renew/Cancel Index values will only be calculated using new episodes airing during 2013. However, until new episodes of a show air in 2013, I will keep the "old" Fall predictions in the table.
Notes:
-
- certain to be cancelled by May, 2013 -
- more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2013 -
- toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2013 -
- more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2013 -
- certain to be renewed by May, 2013
The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

+1 for this picture of the bear
@Bill
Cleveland show pulled a 1.6 and a 1.8 on Sunday. Does that mean it May go back to on the bubble if it stays there.
why not premiere Goodwin in the fall?
“The bear assumes it’s due to contractual wrangling, but that’s just a guess, the bear doesn’t work via “inside information”.”
I assume the bear does not want to properly credit other entertainment sources for their reporting of the “contractual wrangling” reason. That’s just my guess.
Love the bear picture. One of the best ones yet.
I’d say The Cleveland Show is an easy cancellation, since they can just move the characters back onto Family Guy. Besides, don’t they have to make room for The Flintstones?
cancel Glee please.
@Just Desserts
Maybe because they want it to get canceled by not giving it a chance or they wanna try to premiere more shows by May.
the goodwin games must be pretty bad if it has been pushed back to may 20…
Not too many decisions for Fox, basically just the Cleveland Show.
I just noticed how many FOX renewals there are overall.
YMMV
the goodwin games seems really fun but maybe it sucks tho
All my Fox shows are already renewed.
Glee won’t be canceled but no way it goes past next season. And wouldn’t surprise me if next season is shortened and runs straight through, either finishing early or starting in January.
Weird seeing so many shows already renewed. Hardly any drama left for Fox to see which shows return & which shows the bear dines on. If there was any upset it would be Glee getting canned which isn’t likely.
if Glee is renewed, i just hope it will their last season.
Even though they look like a potential renewal, it could be that their ratings are not what most people have come to expect of the show. So, they are quite probably giving serious consideration to pulling the plug AFTER this season is done, or they are sharpening the axe for next season.
Most boring renew/cancel index ever !!!
Fox is going to look awfuly familiar next fall.
*yawn*

FOX never has want for a show to be canceled as they are the ones that cancel the shows…
One can always dream of gLee getting canceled.

Doubtful. The production time on animated shows is very long and FOX already has a new show ordered for next winter.
