Considering how many new shows are doing this season I think The Following has very good numbers. A drama at 2.8 is good. If The Following can hold those numbers it will be on for a long time to come.

The CW should have never moved 90210 to 9 pm. From what I remember 90210 was doing better than what The Carrie Diaries has been doing in the demo. I like The Carrie Diaries..its a cute show but I’m personally not invested enough..especially since its only airing 13 episodes this season to care either way whether it’s renewed or cancelled. I’d much rather see HoD and BATB stick around for another season.

Because it didn’t pick up in the ratings until midseason, at which point they might not have been able to have additional episodes produced (or the producers simply wanted to limit it to 22).

TCD didn’t need to sink further for HOD to get a 3rd season. It’s already a lock essentially considering the mediocre performances of BATB and TCD and the already dead Cult.

Im tired of the HOD fans celebrating TCD failure. Some weeks HOD gets 0.5.
BATB May have low ratings, but they are better than this. BATB I feel is getting a second season. Hypothetically, all of the remaining dramas (minus cult) are safe. Even if CW does one of the things Bill mentioned they could do in the renew/cancel index, TCD will be the one to go. Low retention be damned, what matters is overall ratings.
