After what seems like an eternity, the voting rounds of American Idol finally begin tonight, with a two-hour episode. Will that generate new interest in the show? Last Thursday's episode scored a 3.8 adults 18-49 rating. How will it do tonight? Make your prediction, or, if you prefer, cast your SuperVote, below.

NBC certainly doesn’t like it. I’d be shocked if Go On/New Normal are above 0.9 going against Idol
NCIS will more!
Go NCIS
Its not going up against any real competition (ncis viewers don’t correlate with idol), going to be a huge night for Idol
to be honest if idol holds well against ncis. fox should consider moving back to tuesday/wednesday. ill say it will have 14.6 million viewers tonight.

Because FOX obviously has no interest in its comedies?
I’m hoping for low-2′s.
FOX will win night.
Ratings don’t really uptick with the live shows, though, do they? (barring the finale, of course)
NCIS does well in the 18-49 demo, so we can’t really say its audience doesn’t correlate with that of Idol (except that it has more older viewers).
It depends on how early in the telecast they make the new ‘super’ voting system known. I think the whole idea will turn off all but the youngest and most die-hard fans of the show. Much less competition on a Tuesday, but lower PUT numbers as well. ~3.9 +/- .1
I’m far more interested in the ‘battle of the flops’; CBS, ABC, and NBC’s lowest rated dramas premiers all going up against each other. Will people simply tune out completely? Will one show rise to ‘stellar’ numbers in the upper mid-1′s?
I say that BOP takes a decent hit now that the two part ’24′ style gimmick is over. Part Two was a let down as well.- .9-1.0 max.
Golden Boy has the clear advantage with this only being its second episode, but I can still only see it doing a 1.4 at best. The WC finale should pull it down more than the usual 20% drop.
Will Smash make a comeback? Will it hold steady? I doubt it. I say it falls to .7-.8; there has to be something on cable Smash fans will find more interesting.

Ratings don’t really uptick with the live shows, though, do they?
Last season, the final non-live week was 5.1 (Wed, 2-hour) and 4.5 (Thu, 1-hour).
The semifinal week was 5.1, 5.0, 5.4 (all 2-hour) and the first finals week was 5.7 (Wed, 2-hour), 4.9 (Thu, 1-hour).
After that, the ratings gradually declined until the final two weeks.
Ultima, the semifinal week has never been live for previous seasons of Idol. All of them have been pre-recorded. This season is the first time that the semifinal week is live.
With this episode being on Tuesday, a night that isn’t typical for Idol, I expect that the rating will be even with last week’s Wednesday episode. This is the week that generates the most interest outside of auditions, but being on Tuesday will probably mitigate this.
I say tonight’s episode will pull a 3.9.
I home for a 4.0% ans 14 millions viewers
No matter what. Idol should leave Tuesdays to CBS. Idol kicks big time ass on Wednesday and does extremely well on Thursday. Why get greedy????? American Idol is kicking most of the show’s butt on all networks.

Nope.

“The male semifinalists take the AMERICAN IDOL stage for the first time to perform live for the judges and for the nation. On this season’s first night of voting, America votes to pick their favorites in the “Semifinalist Boys Perform” episode of AMERICAN IDOL airing on a special night Tuesday, Feb. 28 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. (ID-1118/19) (TV-PG D, L) “
FOX will win. But “Idol” will be in the 3.8-4.0 range.
Idol is slowly , but I think tonights ratings will surprise. I think they will beat the 4.2 mark.
Now that the finalists are in place the audience will tune in to access.
@Vance semi-finals have always been live, this is just the first time that they have been held in Vegas.
This show has been on a downward trend all season. It’s either going to be steady with what it got last week or a little lower.
It’s girls night tonight, also it’s in their Hollywood set, no longer in Vegas
