“To me it’s not AI but The Simpsons that has defined the Fox network. That show spawned countless animated primetime shows including the long running Family Guy. They have devoted their entire Sunday lineup to all animation & there’s no signs of it slowing down. After nearly 25 yrs The Simpsons is almost as old as Fox itself & a chapter will truly close the day The Simpsons airs their last episode.”

The Simpsons? Gone? That, I did not know. :-(
Assuming they air their last episode in May, it’ll be 23½ years since their first broadcast (a Christmas show, if memory serves) aired late in 1989. They’re right up there with 60 minutes and Gunsmoke!

“Chris Daughtry didn’t win AI his season but he came in second, right? He’s another one whom I think is doing well (with his band) – at least, I hear his songs on the radio (like Underwood and Clarkson).”

Chris finished 4th in Season 5 in 2006 (Taylor Hicks won, Kat McPhee 2nd and Elliott Yamin 3rd). His 1st album sold nearly 5 million, his second 1.3 million, and his 3rd had to fight to go gold. I hate to be a spoilsport, but his 4th-album prospects don’t look good; meaning he needs a surprise hit to keep RCA from dropping him.

But then again, a major label doesn’t necessarily define the artist, so long as he or she can still draw fans. It’s about selling ANY WAY YOU CAN.

Happy for Body of Proof. I hope the ratings are steady like this and possibly rise higher by the end of the season. If they remain satble like that, I could see ABC renewing the show next season and putting it on Fridays. If BoP can average these ratings on a Friday them the show could get a season 5.

So funny how all the BOP haters just keep talking **it, your all sooo lame!
    Get a life!

@CookieMonzta – “The Simpsons? Gone? That, I did not know. :-(”

No, the previous poster wasn’t saying it was gone. The statement was about “someday when it happens” because The Simpsons won’t last forever, of course. No plans to end any time soon, I’m sure.

I think Chris Daughtry is the only contestant on a TV singing show I’ve ever heard on the radio stations I listen to. (I don’t listen to country music, or to top-40 for that matter.)

My faith in AI was lowered the year Chris Daughtry was voted out in 4th place. It sank lower when it turned out that David Cook was the only true amateur the year he won, and i stopped believing in AI when Adam Lambert lost to whoever won that year. AI isn’t looking for talent, they are looking to make a quick buck with whatever they think will sell to middle america.

My bad. I took my eyes off the whole statement and misread it the second time. ‘The Simpsons’ still has quite a bit of fuel left in the tank, having lost no more than half its 1st-season audience since it debuted.

Like I said, it is now in the realm of ’60 Minutes’ and ‘Gunsmoke’. :-)

I’ve always liked Dana Delaney. However, for some reason I find her character Megan Hunt to be really, really, really annoying.

Never really liked BOP. Only watched it cuz my mom liked me to. Now that Mark Valley is in it I actually look forward to watching it

hart of Dixie should go. What story line should they give it? She is not being a doctor anymore. All its about is her sleeping around with guys all the time. That is not being a doctor. No ome does that in real life should go and say they had canceled it already what are they waiting on.?
