You can always blame the GOP. What is that great line from the movie Papillion – Blame is for God and small children. A leader leads. The R’s are the opposition party and they are at times wrong but so is the President – by his own words he has failed, at least so far, on a number of things (lower H/C costs, 6% unemployment, etc)

  • Ratboy

Well I can see the king of “let’s only post part of the picture and call it good” is back.
Well at least there is someone to keep the Dung Beetle company

Leading up the first housing bubble bust in California in the early 1990’s: “Unemployment down, DJIA, S&P, and NASDAQ up, homes are being sold at profit putting money in people’s pockets. Where are the Doomsday prognosticators when you need them.”

Leading up to the dot-com bubble bust in the late 1990’s: “Unemployment down, DJIA, S&P, and NASDAQ up, people making money in the stocks. Where are the Doomsday prognosticators when you need them.”

Leading up to the national real-estate and derivatives bubble bust in mid 2007: “Unemployment down, DJIA, S&P, and NASDAQ up, people making money, making profit on their homes. Where are the Doomsday prognosticators when you need them.”

Each time a little bit bigger bubble and a much bigger fall. The red flags were available each time, but scoffed at. Cognitive dissonance is not a cure, it is a symptom.

I am still a doomsday prognosticator, Mark2. I just don’t see the point in wasting time with people who want to tell me that a rose with black fungus at the base of its pedals still smells good.

OOOOPSY Juan! Say it aint true. Oh wait! In the true Obama way of doing things………………….blame it on someone else! Dont take any personal responsability even though it was YOUR name on it not the “young man’s) name on it!

Juan Williams Caught in Plagiarism Scandal

Lefty Fox News analyst Juan Williams is in hot water after it was discovered that a column he’d written for a political insider publication contained plagiarized material.

According to a report by Salon.com, a Feb. 18 piece that Williams wrote for The Hill newspaper copied almost word-for-word from a study by the far-left Center for American Progress on the subject of immigration and Social Security
In a phone interview Thursday evening, Williams pinned the blame on a researcher who he described as a “young man.”

“I was writing a column about the immigration debate and had my researcher look around to see what data existed to pump up this argument and he sent back what I thought were his words and summaries of the data,” Williams told Salon. “I had never seen the CAP report myself, so I didn’t know that the young man had in fact not summarized the data but had taken some of the language from the CAP report.”

TZCA – I have a 1-ton 7.3L powerstroke diesel (gets about 16 mpg). I wish a Nissan Leaf could haul the things I need to haul, but alas, no, it can’t. I was walking into a store a few weeks back when a lady says, “sir, I have to ask you, do you know how much you are polluting the world with that truck?

I always say i drive a Hummer & tow a trailer full of cows that are eating beans. :)

  • Hillbilly

    Don’t eat bumble bee’s or tuna. :???:

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Bumble Bee Foods LLC has more than doubled the size of its recall of some of its 5-ounce canned tuna because of a risk that the fish could become contaminated and spoil.

  • TZCA

lol at cows eating beans. Output worth 3 of my trucks.

Doug–you have to be 65 to be on medicare. Not sure what you meant by medicare won’t do kidney transplants after age 30.

You do not have to be 65 to get medicare. You can get it much earlier if you go out on disability. It’s a two year process, but if you can prove you can not work for physican or mental reasons you can get medicare.

I used to be a phone rep for Medicare part d

  • Raz

About the kidneys, depending on what state you are in (like TX) there will be special programs for renal issues. And it’s for people of any age.

  • Mark2

Yep, yet another Fox News host Juan Williams and research team caught lifting stories…go figure. I guess NPR was right for getting rid of his sorry azz. But I guess he fits in well with Faux News. LOL

  • Mark2

Just last week Fox News got caught for lifting an entire story from Politico…bunch of thieves over there at Fox News.

NOW he is not a leftie he is FOX! Spin baby spin!!

    Cant Fix Stupid!!

  • Letmethink

@Raz–you are right. Did not know that. Here are the exceptions I found.

Before age 65, you are eligible for Medicare hospital insurance if you:
Get Social Security disability benefits and have amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s) disease; or
Have been a Social Security disability beneficiary for 24 months; or
Have worked long enough in a federal, state, or local government job and you meet the requirements of the Social Security disability program.
If you receive a disability annuity from the Railroad Retirement Board, you will be eligible for hospital insurance after a waiting period.
It still seems that he was not differentiating the exceptions that can apply for medicare and just stating something that did not make sense to me. Maybe I just misunderstood his post.
    Thanks for the info–

Tz–you may be an engineer –if so, you should anayze things with a little more depth. You need to make sure your independent variables are causative and not just correlated with the dependent variable –stock appreciation. The stock market was driven by phoney factors during the bubbles mentioned by TZ–notably a dot com frenzy which had nothing to do with profit. Further, most people then did not understand computers and were sucked in. The next bubble was cause by extensive real estate fraud and bank fraud which drove house prices to phoney highs and had no basis in finance or reality. This time it’s different–the market is being driven by the highest corporate profits ever and lots of m&a activity, not to mention emerging markets. The Fed helped, too, by buying bonds because the right wing was obstructing Obama’s jobs plan and threatening to bring the economy down. Fortunately, the Fed was on top of things and we are much better off for it. The 2008 recession is the worst in history–in comparison with the past recessions. The Stock market now has RECORD PROFITS, which it didn’t have in 2000–it was pie in the sky then. It takes time to recover from the worst recession of all time, given the right wing is fighting all job creation activity. Further, we are coming out of the worst downturn in 70 years and profits should continue strong as the economy expands further. On top of this, China and India and emerging markets are helping the world economy. In short, things now are COMPLETELY different from the recessions TZ alluded to and his rudimentary correlation anaysis is fundamentally flawed……end of story…..
