@DougZ “Paul criticized the hawkish senators….”

Say bye-bye to the Republican Party as we know it today.

“Speaking of Rand Paul, he’s become of hero for the Liberals.”

I guess the people on some of the sites I read have not been told yet.
All day on MSN they have had articles about him.
They are still calling him a nutjob and a Teaba****.(will not say it)

The Violence Against Women Act is nothing but a way to buy votes and paint the GOP in a bad light. A way for the democrats to show that the GOP has a “War” against women.

Violence against anyone should not be tolerated. So why are we celebrating a law that overlooks 50% of the country’s population. A simple look at MTV’s reality show Teen Mom 2, shows that women do abuse men often. One of the four young mom’s abuses her ex very show, even hitting him with a TV once. She assaults him on TV weekly and has never been arrested for this crime. A second physical attacks her ex because his new girlfriend is with him. When the young man defends himself, she runs to the police and gets an order of protection against him. Luckily for the young man, he had witnesses that she attacked him.

This is bill is a spending act. It’s get 660 million from the Federal government each year. However data shows us that only 1.3 million women are victims each year. That’s over 507 million for each victims. But still they ask for more money, saying they need housing for these women. At 507 million a victim I think they can buy each of them a house. Can’t you see how wasteful that is?

This act went into place in 1994 and yet domestic violence is on the raise. If a program almost 20 years old hasn’t decreased domestic violence then that program is not working.

This act should be changed to protect everyone in the USA, the funds cut and there should be oversite on how the funding is spent.
    Here are some stats.
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence show that
many forget that significant amounts of domestic violence cases happen to both sexes as well as children. The same study that found that 1.3 million women were assaulted by their partner every year also found that 835,000 men fell victim to the same violence. Aggregate totals of more than 250 studies since the 1970s find that men and women nearly split partner violence rates halfway. One study in 2011 conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 40 percent of severe, physical domestic violence cases were against men.

When we ignore male victims of domestic abuse, we also ignore their children, who continue to be damaged by witnessing the violence regardless of how severe it is. We cannot break this inter-generational cycle by ignoring half of it. That’s why a global coalition of experts has formed to support a research-based, inclusive approach, and their website has solid data showing women initiate the violence as often as men.

A University of Florida study recently found women are more likely than men to “stalk, attack and abuse” their partners. “We’re seeing women in relationships acting differently nowadays than we have in the past,” said Angela Gover, a UF criminologist who led the research. “The nature of criminality has been changing for females, and this change is reflected in intimate relationships as well.”

The republicans who voted against this act did so because of the spending it is given. The fact that it is nothing but bowing to the wants of special interest groups.
This act as a whole is not good for anyone in this country. It has some very good points but it should increased to protect everyone. And it’s funding needs to be cut and there needs to be an over site of the way the funds are spent.

@DougZ “the money is not real…”

Oh so now the money isn’t real? But it was real in 2007 before the crash…right?! LOL

  • Doug Z

    Son of Grasshopper-Mark2

Gov buying of debt up , so goes the stock market. Your Demos, like the bank that are in Obama’s pocket. Dems are the 1%, follow the money.

No one has a clear idea how the Fed plans to unload such staggering sums. As it sells off its hoard, the value of all bonds could plunge, more than wiping out the small returns bond investors are getting. But holding onto the bonds as the economy stabilizes would set off inflation, which the Fed is required to combat.

  • Doug Z

Mark2 as you know Bush was the second worst President of all time. The money was not real. It is call a bubble .

  • Letmethink

First time conservatives and progressives agree on anything–Rand Paul is. Hero. McCain and Graham need to go!!!!!!!!

  • Mark2

    @Cathy

The end result is that the Democratic Party favors the rights of Women, why the Republican Party doesn’t. Whether it’s Women’s pay, Women’s protection, or a Woman’s right to choose, the majority of the American Public knows who’s on which side.

Mark, you know Cathy hates woman

  • Letmethink

@Cathy. I saw the brave girl who was shot by the Taliban for insisting that girls get an education. That is a war on women. Women not getting free birth control that they can get for $9 is not a war on women. Sandra Fruuck should be ashamed and get a life!!!!

  • Mark2

@Letmethink “First time conservatives and progressives agree on anything–Rand Paul is. Hero”

I’m not too sure that most Conservatives agree with Rand Paul. Afterall, he is taking a Liberal cause in this case.

I think Graham put it best:
“To my Republican colleagues, I don’t remember any of you coming down here suggesting that President Bush was going to kill anybody with a drone,” Graham said. He added that even Democrats never accused Bush of wanting to assassinate Americans with a drone.

“What is it, all of the sudden, that this drone program has gotten every Republican all spun up?” Graham asked. He said that many are “astonished” that Obama has continued President Bush’s war on terror. “I’m not astonished, I congratulate him for having the good judgment to understand we’re at war,” Graham added.

“To my party, I’m a bit disappointed that you no longer apparently think we’re at war,” he observed. “Not Senator Paul, he’s a man to himself. He has a view that I don’t think is a Republican view – I think it’s a legitimately held libertarian view.”

  • Mark2

@DougZ “Mark, you know Cathy hates woman”

    She’s just confused…lol.

  • Cathy

Doug Z, It was a great thing. It was legal to beat your wife before the Dems save us.

I’m guessing. But you are joking right?

Again Violent against Women, 660 million a year to help 1.3 million women. We play more then 507 million per women.
It’s been in place almost 20 years, domestic violence keeps going up.

And dumba$$ like Mark2 think it shows the dems are for women and republicans aren’t because republican see that money is being wasted.

  • Doug Z

Mark2 I am a neocon and had not voted for a Republican since Ronny R.

  • mikey o

@Mark 2 Thats nice of Van Jones but the real question except for one Dem Senator where were the Senate Dems on this issue??? The ones that hate water boarding or playing loud music ? So then the Liberal logic is water boarding, playing loud music to get intel and they are still alive afterwards bad. Just drop a bomb on them getting no intel and causing collateral damage deaths good.

Water boarding is bad, murder is good . Demos way of thinking.

Letmethink, Women not getting free birth control that they can get for $9 is not a war on women. Sandra Fruuck should be ashamed and get a life!!!!

    =========================================================================

Free birth control that cost them 2.5% increase in the payroll tax, which is $33.30 if you only make min wage. So, silly little Sandra is truly paying $33.30 for her free birth control. The nut lost $24.30.
