CBS's NEW DRAMA "Golden Boy" TO REMAIN IN TUESDAY,
10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT TIME PERIOD

An Original "Golden Boy" Will Air This Friday as Previously Scheduled

"Vegas" Moves to Friday, 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, Effective April 5

Golden Boy, CBS's new drama about the meteoric rise of an ambitious cop who becomes the youngest police commissioner in the history of New York City, will remain on Tuesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), after two special previews in the time period.

CBS previously announced that Golden Boy would move to Friday (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) after the preview broadcasts on Feb. 26 and March 3. An original episode of Golden Boy will still air this first Friday (March 8) at 9:00 PM, ET/PT as planned.

CBS will give the freshman drama VEGAS a look in a new time period, moving it to Friday (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) beginning April 5, following the Network's coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament.

In its two Tuesday broadcasts, GOLDEN BOY is winning its time period in viewers and key demographics, averaging 9.98 million viewers, 2.6/07 in adults 25-54 and 1.7/05 in adults 18-49.

GOLDEN BOY stars Theo James, Chi McBride, Kevin Alejandro, Bonnie Somerville, Holt McCallany and Stella Maeve. Greg Berlanti and Emmy Award winner Nicholas Wootton are executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.

VEGAS stars Dennis Quaid, Michael Chiklis, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jason O'Mara, Taylor Handley and Sarah Jones. Greg Walker, Nicholas Pileggi, Cathy Konrad, Arthur Sarkissian and James Mangold are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

    @Andrea
    If CBS doesn’t renew a drama this season, it will have been four seasons since it landed a hit drama. That can’t be good!

    ??

    Elementary will be renewed. Person of Interest was a hit last year.

    Good news for Golden Boy. I love Theo James.

    @David Howell

    CSI:NY is dead, dead, dead. Nothing that happens to GB or Vegas will change that.

    Those numbers will be useful next week when Golden Boy airs after repeats and there is a mass outcry from Vegas fans who forgot how bad their show is doing! ;)

    Holly,

    Touche. Getting old early!

    Darn right! GB will hit a 1.3-1.4 and Body of FLOP will go up.

    Ultima,

    You told me TGW, not POI! Good me confused!

    I think Vegas will go better with Blue Bloods on Fridays – both shows skew older.
    I’m probably deluding myself, but I hope that Vegas replaces the Good Wife as the low rated show that CBS inexplicably renews . . .

    I watched the pilot of Golden Boy. Chi McBride can’t save that mess. What an unappealing lead character. No thanks.

  • Georgia

    What happens to Blue Bloods? Aren’t they moving Vegas into Blue Bloods’ time slot?

  • JustMe

    Golden boy is a dud

  • Chase

    I think a good friday night would be golden boy vegas blue bloods next year. Also let good wife and mentalist both wsit til after the fall for each of their final seasons.

    @Melanie

    What? You didn’t like THEO JAMES perfect orange tan or how about the tweezed eyebrows? lol

  • DeanW

    What will happen to Blue Bloods ? It will obiously remain at 10 but what will air at 9 until Vegas returns ?

  • Holly

    These times are Eastern time zone, so Blue Bloods is on at 10, not 9.

    DING DONG…

    (that’s the vegas death knell.)

    Vegas is an older skewing show. If it can get 1.5′s at Fridays at 9pm, it can stay.

    I actually see this as a validation of Vegas and a giving up of Golden Boy. They are seeing if Vegas can survive on Fridays because SURELY Golden Boy has no shot of renewal with those Tuesday numbers. Vegas still has a minor, small shot with this Friday move.

    “I watched the pilot of Golden Boy. Chi McBride can’t save that mess. What an unappealing lead character. No thanks.”

    I was going to say the exact same thing. You beat me to it.

    Took GB off my watch list after stuggling to stay away during the second episode. The lead character should be in jail. He already broke 4-5 laws/rules in two episodes.

  • Oliver

    I think it gives a distant hope to both shows.

    Vegas might get “good for Friday” ratings and Golden Boy has a chance on Tuesday.

    Messy scheduling, though.
