CBS's NEW DRAMA "Golden Boy" TO REMAIN IN TUESDAY,
10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT TIME PERIOD

An Original "Golden Boy" Will Air This Friday as Previously Scheduled

"Vegas" Moves to Friday, 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, Effective April 5

Golden Boy, CBS's new drama about the meteoric rise of an ambitious cop who becomes the youngest police commissioner in the history of New York City, will remain on Tuesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), after two special previews in the time period.

CBS previously announced that Golden Boy would move to Friday (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) after the preview broadcasts on Feb. 26 and March 3. An original episode of Golden Boy will still air this first Friday (March 8) at 9:00 PM, ET/PT as planned.

CBS will give the freshman drama VEGAS a look in a new time period, moving it to Friday (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) beginning April 5, following the Network's coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament.

In its two Tuesday broadcasts, GOLDEN BOY is winning its time period in viewers and key demographics, averaging 9.98 million viewers, 2.6/07 in adults 25-54 and 1.7/05 in adults 18-49.

GOLDEN BOY stars Theo James, Chi McBride, Kevin Alejandro, Bonnie Somerville, Holt McCallany and Stella Maeve. Greg Berlanti and Emmy Award winner Nicholas Wootton are executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.

VEGAS stars Dennis Quaid, Michael Chiklis, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jason O'Mara, Taylor Handley and Sarah Jones. Greg Walker, Nicholas Pileggi, Cathy Konrad, Arthur Sarkissian and James Mangold are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

Vegas will be gone soon. Stupid CBS! Shows go to Friday to die. They better not pull this with PoI.

  • Dave

    I knew this would happen!

  • PurpleDrazi

I’m pretty sure anyone who was paying any attention at all saw that coming a mile away. Not much of a surprise but at least it will finally allow for a different headline on the Renew/Cancel post.

  • Greg

I do agree that both shows are still dead, but this is better for Vegas than to Golden Boy. Vegas has steady ratings and it will have a good lead in with Undercover Boss. It’s a long shot, but it could perform well enough to warrant a renewal.

Airing after repeats, Golden Boy is completely dead.

You told me TGW, not POI! Good me confused!

Sorry, I was a bit confused about what you were asking.

    @Paul
Vegas is an older skewing show. If it can get 1.5?s at Fridays at 9pm, it can stay.

It’s getting 1.5s on Tuesday following two of CBS’ top dramas. There’s no way it isn’t going to drop when it moves to Friday.

More headline potential is always good!

Well, I like Golden Boy better than Vegas, But neither more than Grimm. I love Grimm that’s what I’m watching on Fridays.

  • Shepherd

Am I going crazy, or was the post picture changed? Who was that crazy looking guy anyway?

  • ChuckMe Forever

Good for both shows I hope Golden Boy P/U a few more 18-49′ers and Vegas stays the same. The only Change I’d like is to Sandwhich GB between The NCIS’ It may P/U more of an Audience….Gotta Love Chi McBride…dude is great…..

  • BxActor

    Whaaaaaaaaaaa ?

  • BxActor

    Good bye Vegas

  • BigBrotherFan

Chi Mcbride was GREAT in THE NINE and that was a great show.
    This show however…

    IS NOT!

i would have waited to see how golden boy does this friday before this change….i don’t think this bodes well for vegas…i see it as being shipped to friday to burn off the rest of the episodes before they kill it, but that’s just me…

Seriously, CBS announces this 1 day before Golden Boy was to move? Ridiculous plus Fridays could have possibly been the only way to save it. Now Vegas is looking a tad better.

  • Jazz

I watch Touch and Grimm at that time. But I always felt Vegas belonged on the weekends. We used to watch it then. I also think 9 is a better time slot. It’s so laid back and calm, I used to fall asleep.

  • CBSviewer

CSI: NY fell from 2.6 to 1.8 when it moved to Friday. Vegas only got a 1.5-1.6 on Tuesday and it will get between 1.0 and 1.3 on Friday.

  • Mon

This is goodbye Vegas. It’s NOT going to top 1.5 on Friday especially it is Friday and its lead-in would be Undercover Boss for only a week. How about in May sweeps? Repeats? CBS Fridays are going to be UGHly on May.

CBS have seen enough so maybe Golden Boy skews a bit younger than Vegas and might have a better shot of getting ok ratings (holding NCISs ratings) on Tuesday than Vegas.

  • Mon

    @CBSViewer
Where did you get those numbers? I believe CSI: NY averaged 3.0 on its last season on Wednesday. The following season on Friday, it went all the way down to 1.75 season average. That’s about 40% down.
