Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @Zth

    Blake is the best judge on that panel. I sure hope people are tuning in for him. I can’t stand Adam he’s so DRAMATIC and overthetop emotional and so artsy..It’s annoying.

  • Keith

    Worldwide fanbase does not matter. The ratings are only for U.S. households. Xtina has only had 2 top 10 hits on the hot 100 since 2003 and her last two albums and singles have done horrible-she must not have that much of a fanbase left.

    I think people are underestimating the fanbase that Shakira has with the Hispanic community (Univision is becoming a major player) and Usher with the Black community. I think the ratings will hold or even increase with the new judges.

  • BigBrotherFan

    Not one judge on ANY of these shows hold anything on the career of Mariah Carey though and that didn’t seem to increase AI. Not ONE of those stars are anywhere near her legendary status AND I’M NOT EVEN A FAN! LOL

  • zth

    @meah:

    Cassadee Pope will surprise with good sales when her next album comes out. I don’t understand why they aren’t releasing a single really fast after she won – a la American Idol’s ‘Home’.

  • BigBrotherFan

    Jlo= HUGE LATINA STAR= AI RATINGS STILL WENT DOWN

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ BigBrotherFan

    Usher has Confessions, an album that has sold 10M+ stateside alone & he was/is very influential in Bieber’s career. He’s probably the #1 R&B male on the planet today. Google him & you’ll see all his accomplishments which are just too numerous to mention.

    Shakira has a fan base (especially in the Latino community) in the Carribean, South America, Spain, Portugal & all Latino speaking nations that encompass age 9 thru 90. Check out her Laundry Service CD to see her versatility. Her Oral Fixation Tour DVD is considered a modern-day classic & rightly so!

  • Guest

    @BigBrotherFan
    Shakira is a lot bigger than Jennifer Lopez in the Latin community. Mariah Carey didn’t help AI because she isn’t as relevant anymore.

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Theoldman

    Yeah, I know USHER snatched that no-talent Beiber up. AGH. Wish he didn’t.

    …What I’m saying is USHER OR SHAKIRA have NOTHING on Mariah Carey and her career and it’s not helping A.I one bit. J LO has a HUGE Latino fanbase and that didn’t help AI much, either.

  • BigBrotherFan

    Okay, Folks. We’ll agree to disagree.

    I can’t really argue the LATINO argument because I’m really not fully familar with the culture and I don’t have many hispanic friends. I guess I’m out of touch @25 in that sense. lol

  • Keith

    @BigBrotherFan

    Your point is not relevant regarding Mariah Carey. If this was 1995, she would have increased ratings. Her popularity has dramatically decreased with each album released after Daydream. The Emancipation of Mimi album has been her only major success since the 90s (Butterfly and Rainbow were about average at the time, but didn’t perform anywhere close to Daydream/Music Box). So one massive album (Mimi) since 1995 is not that impressive.

  • Cyrax86

    Nice to see The Neighbors flat, it’s a lock for renewal, regardless of the 3 remaining episodes. Next week it’ll be the ONLY new show in ABC’s lineup!

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Keith

    Dude, she was recovering from GLITTER lol

  • Ash

    @BigBrotherFan

    When someone makes a point to state that their not a fan something, they really are a fan :)

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Ash

    You calling me a Mariah Carey fan? lol
    No way. She was a beautiful woman but her music…not my thing lol

  • toadytoady

    A re run of anything is beating Smash.
    SVU got 1.1 (4.25)
    CF got 1.0 (3.95)
    Smash got 0.8

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ BigBrotherFan

    The younger demo (12-17) will know Usher thru his association w/ Bieber which could be good exposure for him.

    Mariah Carey has airplay on her side where Shakira & Usher have sales & as you know, money talks!

    JLo’s fan base is no where near as strong as Shakira (trust me on that one).

    I’m interested to see how they fare on The Voice–I’ll probably more than likely watch the premiere to see.

    Also, if you didn’t already know, Natalie Zea was on Justified S01-03 & is recurring S04.

  • MDM

    I still can’t imagine Whitney getting renewed, but it’s been one of their better performing comedies. Going out on a limb and saying Whitney and Go On get renewed, Community is on the bubble but they could put something new in its place that would most likely do similar ratings at a much cheaper price.

  • BigBrotherFan

    @TheOldMan

    Yeah, I knew that about Zea. I actually fell in love when she was on the AMAZING DIRTY SEXY MONEY! haha

    I’ll take your word on Shakira.

  • r0ckmypants

    This whole comment battle about The Voice is silly. But still, regardless of how big a star Shakira is in other nations, that’s not going to help The Voice’s ratings.

    And Usher may have big singles and big album sales in the past, but his most recent album bombed, much like Christina Aguilera. Talent and fame don’t always translate to sales, especially nowadays when there are so many ways of obtaining music.

  • Keith

    @The Old Man

    Mariah doesn’t even really have airplay on her side anymore. Since 2006, she has 2 hits-”Touch My Body” and “Obsessed.” Guess her record company stopped the payola. She released far more singles than that.
