via press note:

Based on the first 3 days of TV playback (Live + 3 Day Ratings), ABC’s Sunday debut of Red Widow (on 3/3/13 from 9-11pm) grew over its Live +Same Day numbers by 1.7 million viewers (7.135 million to 8.850 million) and by 27% in Adults 18-49 (1.5 rating to a 1.9 rating). As a result in its time period, ABC’s Red Widow caught NBC’s 2-hour season premiere of Celebrity Apprentice in Adults 18-49 (1.9 rating each) and widened its Total Viewer lead over the NBC unscripted series to 3.1 million (8.850 million vs. 5.739 million), up from 2.0 million in the next-day numbers. In the preliminary L+SD ratings, Celebrity Apprentice held a 2-tenths advantage over Red Widow in Adults 18-49.

It might prevent viewer attrition. Not all people know what a solid 18-49 demo is. If they believe that the show is doing ok, they might stick with it. ABC would be in the wrong if they didn’t try to prevent a further fall.

Everyone who writes these reviews is an idiot!!!! Red Widow is good and written just fine. You people are not critics you are losers that spend way to much time waiting for unemployment checks and typing verbal diarrhea. Get a day job and let abc worry about ratings. LOSERS!!!!!

  • Gigi

The Red Widow premiere kind of dragged a bit. But I did keep watching the series. The last two episodes were great! I really hope the series isn’t cancelled. I can’t wait to see what happens with the arms shipment and Shiller cocaine.

  • Leslie

Omg, I don’t want to sound lame but despite this show’s unpopularity, I love it soooo much. WHY ARE THEY CANCELLING IT????
& can someone offer some insight into why people dislike it so much?

  • Melanie

I really hate the thought of cancelling this show! Great plot and every Sunday on the edge of my seat! Pleasssse don’t cancel, I think viewers should try to give it one more chance!
