Community-Cast-2011-12

via press note:

At 8 p.m. ET, > "> Community> "> (1.5/5 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall) jumped week to week by 25 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5 from a 1.2) and 19 percent in total viewers (3.362 million vs. 2.832 million), to deliver its top results in both categories in four weeks (since the show's season premiere on February 7). "Community" has now generated week-to-week gains in 18-49 the last two weeks in a row. In a highly competitive time period versus CBS's "Big Bang Theory," Fox's "American Idol" and ABC's "Shark Tank" encore, "Community" tied "Idol" for #2 in the half-hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in men 18-34. Last night's episode featured a guest appearance by James Brolin as the father of Jeff (Joel McHale).

    Spinning is fun, but man I’m on cloud nine with Community this week. :D Top rated NBC COMEDY TELECAST IN THREE WEEKS could have been a nice headline though, NBC ;D

  • MichaelChickless

    Yeah!

  • Ryan

    Cool. Cool cool cool.

  • Neil

    NBC almost as good as ABC at PR spin.

  • Jack Doh Gaughy

    cool cool cool, pew.

  • TVDude

    I think this warranted a press release. Although Community’s 1.5 would have gotten it pulled long ago on CBS, this is NBC and a 1.5 looks really good compared to 1600 Penn’s (and The New Normal’s) 0.9. Plus, it’s a 25% rise from the previous week. Not bad.

  • Oliver

    I bet the NBC press release writers are just happy they have something positive to talk about.

    There are no more words.

  • Evil Abed

    Very happy for Community. Last night’s episode was very good – the endean in particular was changtastic.

    We’re getting there, Human Beings.

  • Michael1

    Wow, just wait until the NCAA tournament starts. That was a boon for “Community” last season.

  • Ravenrei

    I’m surprised it was the #2 show in M18-34. I sorta remember them having good male numbers in the past, but we so rarely hear about that demo (beyond Fox’s AD block) that it slipped my mind. But it really makes me wonder what those numbers look like for TBBT. I would’ve figured that show had something close to an even male/female ratio watching, especially considering the main cast was mostly male for a while.

  • Oliver

    @Michael1

    NBC is putting Community in repeats opposite NCAA basketball.

  • Oliver

    @Ravenrei
    Google “What Are Men Watching Other Than Sports in Broadcast TV Primetime?” for numbers from Fall.

    Big Bang was the highest rated scripted show in M18-49 with 4.4 and 4th highest rated scripted show in M18-34 with 3.1.

  • Neil

    Balls!

  • KG

    Go Community!

  • Justin121

    <NBC almost as good as ABC at PR spin.

    Not even close.

    “Community hits a 2-week high in women 12-17″ is the kind of spin ABC soupts out

    – and the previous week would’ve been a repeat, to boot :D
