    Eh, people like the show, and the ratings spike was unexpected.

    No-one really cares about NBC.

  • Melissa

    @Anonymous

    and once again, melissa is on one of her typical psychotic rants against a cop show that airs at the same time as one of her precious soap opera wieners that has cast members jumping ship every year

    You’re delusional. Please let me know how 3 sentences, not dissing Person of Interest at all, is a “psychotic rant against a cop show”. I said nothing negative about Person of Interest, but rather the truth that most expected the show to tick up to the 3’s this week, including Petar Ivanov (possibly the show’s biggest fan on this site), due to the decreased competition.

    @Oliver

    Maybe people like the show, but judging by the ratings it is a very small number of them. Let’s be honest, a 1.5 is not much of an audience.

  • Dan

    NBC should probably bring back Community even if for a short final season. A show that has a Thanksgiving episode do well in March should get another shot.

    My guess is NBC will bring back Community, Parks and Recreation, Go On, and Whitney among other new comedies this fall.

  • Phil

    Yay for Idol!

    do you really want me to go back and copy and paste everything negative you’ve said about it? jesus, every time there’s a competition between POI and Ellen Pompeo’s gray(ing) anatomy, you leap to defend it like it’s your duty. Why can’t you just be ok with the fact that everyone has their own personal taste, so it’s perfectly fine to like one or the other, or even both.

  • Jon

    Melissa should really get a life. tru dat Anonymous

    @Anonymous

    lol, exactly what i was thinking. Grey’s Anatomy has jumped ship. Even its actors seem to think so. Why else would people like Katherine Heigl and Kim Raver leave?

    See now you’re shifting the goalposts. I know I have talked negative about Person of Interest before, but your comment was clearly insinuating that my comment on this particular article was in some way trashing Person of Interest, when it clearly wasn’t.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Community sucks balls. Die stupid show!

    “American Idol’s Thursday average is now a 4.3″

    OY! They keep spitting out 3s from here to the finale (which is highly likely, given that those are results shows, and the people can get the results anywhere without ever having to tune in), Thursday’s demo will finish in the 3s.

    I wish there was a screen shot of the Big Bang girls in their Disney Princess outfits from last night – that was great. Happy it adjusted up; fun episode. Enjoyed Community and 1600 Penn too.

    This season of Community has been very “meh” over all.

    Prior to this year, it’s been one of the most original comedies on TV – exactly the sort of thing that doesn’t do big ratings. The right people get it.

    A show like Big Bang Theory does big ratings. A show like Community does good TV.

    Unfortunately, big ratings are the goal.

  • CC

    If CBS was airing new shows all night I bet POI would have broke 3.0. It was a spectacular episode regardless and it just continues to get better.

    CBS aired 3/4 of its original Thursday lineup, including Person of Interest‘s lead-in, Two and a Half Men. Are you telling me that had Elementary aired an original after Person of Interest, the latter show would have gained 2 additional tenths? The Fan Excuse Bingo for this show is hilarious.

  • Samm

    JMHO, I too think last night’s POI was great and very entertaining. Didn’t see the bad guy coming till the lightning strike. LOL!

    Jim Caviezel – a good code, as Finch would have said.

    Melissa didn’t say anything wrong and was too nice about it. POI completely underperformed last night. Grey’s Anatomy & The Office were in reruns and POI still dropped this week. It has the best lead-in out of all their 9pm shows and still struggles to crack a 3. A 2.8 is nothing to cheer about. That rating is Grey’s Anatomy’s series low.

    Cast members leaving a show is so unusual now?

    Btw, Melissa didn’t even mention Grey’s in her post…

  • David Howell

    No surprise with any of the adjustments. Glee down was inevitable given the 9:32 changeover time, and Idol/TBBT always seem to adjust up. (I’m still trying to work out why.)

    Elementary is a procedural, it repeats well. Scandal is a serial, it doesn’t. The real shock is not that Elementary is a half-point ahead in reruns, it’s that it’s a half-point behind in originals.

    Thanks. Even when I try to be nice, these Person of Interest fanatics still flip out.

    If I recall correctly, Community is up .3 from last week! And it was finally a good episode, felt a more like the characters we’ve loved since the first three seasons.

    #SixSeasonsAndAMovie seems like an actual possibility now…
