Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • Max Vrany

First NCIS, Now Two and a Half Men. This is CBS shows beat Idol week!

  • KT

I don’t watch it, but I assume Beauty was a rerun too? If not, YIKES!

  • MichaelChickless

Can we please sort Community above Shark Tank.

That’s pretty solid for Glee in the unusual timeslot.

    CBS comedies dominate, as expected.

BatB is dead without a lead-in.

  • Stacey

AI ran over by a couple of minutes so I expect that at least the viewer numbers for Glee will go down a bit in that first half hour, if not the final ratings.

  • PurpleDrazi

Surprised at the Community up tick. Not sure where that came from.

CW still a study in failure I see…

  • Kerry

This is the first time in four years of watching Community I’ve ever felt like this is true: I think it’s getting renewed.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

    “BATB was a repeat”

    That will get fixed ASAP.

  • Kyle R

Wow! Community with the surprise comeback! On a night surrounded by repeats, no less!

  • HalCapone

So much for POI doing well with all repeat competition. That’s a horrible performance.

  • Rebecca

About to stream Community, but I found Big Bang very entertaining last night (maybe because I’m a Disney Parks fanatic and the girls went to Disneyland). The only wrong thing about it was that technically people over age 12 aren’t allowed to have the princess makeover Disney offers – so the girls wouldn’t have been able to be in the park in full costume (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White – but they looked great!). Disney only allows people over age 12 to be in costume on their special Halloween party nights. Oh well, it was a fun episode. Loved the guys’ reactions at the end.

  • samurai99

I had BBT at a 5.7. I am not that great at predicting ratings, I need to get more pessimistic. Too bad, it was a good episode.

Glad to see Elementary doing well in reruns. The episode from last night was one of the worse ones they did, so I’m not surprised it’s down from last weeks. The people who think that show is moving to friday or sunday next year are delusional.

And Beauty and the beast did wors than the Carrie Diaries. I might just have two renewal predictions come true in my freshmen year!

  • s0303

poi skews really old…more viewers than tahm, but more than a whole point lower in the demo…

pretty good for community considering the state of the nbc comedies…i personally think they should cancel all of them but maybe 2 or 3…

  • EatMorePez

So Community does better against originals of The Big Bang Theory than it does against repeats of The Big Bang Theory. Huh.

  • Jeff (Canada)

Last night was an example of more people watching a good episode of Community. Hopefully this will be enough of a ratings jump to offset the obvious dip it (and all other shows) will experience next week.

  • MichaelChickless

    Oh, BatB wasn’t new.

  • Matthew Chapman

And Glee’s season high in total viewers (baring any adjustment) must surely seal it’s renewal now.

  • tv_viewer

Nigel Lythgoe needs to take a refresher ratings class from Sheldon Cooper Leonard Hofstadter, and Howard Wolowitz.

  • Ryan T

Community isn’t getting great ratings, but NOTHING NBC puts in that time slot against BBT will do better. They should keep that in mind.

  • Keith

Person of Disinterest can’t even get over a 3.0 with no competition. CBS should move it to 10 pm and expand its comedy block on Thurs. If their comedies can get over a 3.0 on Mon, then it will be easy for them following Big Bang/2.5 men.
