Will the Ratings for the Spring Premiere of 'Grimm' be Grim? - Poll

Grimm Season 2

Grimm returns tonight after a four month hiatus. The question is whether its audience will return as well. In its favor: a passionate fanbase, weak competition from Touch and fellow genre show Cult. Also, the show finally has an original lead-in, though it is the extremely incompatible Fashion Star. Working against it: going head-to-head with Friday's powerhouse Shark Tank, being off the air for so long, and airing on NBC in spring 2013. Its fall finale earned a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating. How will it do tonight? Make your predictions.

    I am a huge Grimm fan, but I think this long break is going to doom the show. Does anyone here know how many episodes of Grimm are scheduled to air this season?

  • MichaelChickless

    I say a spectacular (for NBC and Friday) 1.7.

  • Rebecca

    I’m being way too optimistic and hoping for above a 2.0. Hard to do on a Friday.

    I think there are ten episodes left to air of Grimm, including tonight’s.

  • Rebecca

    22 episodes total.

  • were123

    I say 1.6 or 1.7!

  • WHAT??

    I am a HUGE fan of Grimm, thank (your personal deity) that I saw it was back on, on here. I haven’t seen it promo’ed. Maybe because I watch so few NBC shows??

    1.3, because I think FS is going to get like a .7-.8.

  • Lynn

    I can’t wait for Fashion Star AND a new Grimm tonight. But, alas, I ain’t 18-49 and probably no one particularly cares.

  • CBSviewer

    Tonight ratings:

    Last Man Standing = 1.4
    Malibu Country = 1.2
    Shark Tank = 1.8
    20/20 (R) = 0.9

    Undercover Boss = 1.6
    Golden Boy = 1.2
    Blue Bloods = 1.4

    Fashion Star = 1.2
    Grimm = 1.5
    Rock Center = 1.0

    Kitchen Nightmares = 1.1
    Touch = 0.7

    Nikita = 0.4
    Cult = 0.2

    It can easily pull a 1.7-1.8. But a break could have hurt it and its possible it could hit something in the 1.3-1.4 range. Hmmm…

  • zerg

    1.5-1.4…The great opening of OZ can hurt it(not only for grimm) + looong hiatus maybe will bring ratings down.

  • Shepherd

    I think they will (be grim). I’m enjoying the show more than I ever expected, but it feels like the show will be up against more competition than it has ever faced before. Cult may be a flop, but I’m guessing that your typical Cult fan is also a Grimm fan, and given the devotion of the CW’s typical fan, I’m thinking that they’ll watch Cult live and DVR Grimm. (DVR makes a better experience anyway) Add to that Shark Tank, Golden Boy, NBC’s woes as of late, and even the doomed Touch on top of the long hiatus, and I had to choose the the 1.1-1.2 option.

    I hope I am wrong and it goes higher than 1.1.

    I gave up watching grimm midway through season 1 due to too many case of the week episodes and the lack of an ongoing story arc. Has the show gone more serealized in season 2 cause if it has i might start watching agian or is still very case of the week.

  • SJ

    1.3 at best. Nothing against the show, but an out-of-the-blue four-month hiatus isn’t going to do it any favors. Another WTF decision by NBC…

  • Carmen

    My track record for predicting these spring premieres has not been very good. I’m usually too high. . .sometimes significantly too high.
    But with that said, I’m still going to predict an over 2.0 for this return. It will fall back to its normal 1.5 soon

  • Moose

    Thank you for the information Rebecca. :)
    I hadn’t realized that that many episodes had aired already. I had forgotten all about those episodes that had aired last August and early September.

    I can’t remember how I voted. I do think it will be somewhere around the 1.4 to 1.5 range. Perhaps that is a little too optimistic. Four months is an awfully long break for a show that wasn’t doing that well in the ratings to begin with.

  • Rebecca

    It is more serialized in season 2….there’s stuff about the police captain and the main guy’s girlfriend that’s ongoing now. It was really good right before the break.

    Saw an ad for the show earlier this week on NBC…must have been Tuesday or Wednesday while watching prime time. Maybe last night during 1600 Penn, too, IIRC.

    Maybe it’ll rate somewhat low tonight but be much better next week, once word gets out that it’s back again (for viewers who don’t track their shows online).
