Go grasshopper
I see the obamabots are out in force today. The man-child is putting a great little gang of robots together.
Go Sarah. Totally agree with you. Get govt off our back and out of our wallets.
This just in: the GOP has not defended Ryan’s budget proposal because it makes no sense and is essentially the same tired old thinking he presented before the election…this thinking was repudiated by the American People…Fox Fake News is defending it just as the propaganda arm would be expected to do….
Afternoon all.
The leading dumbocrat loon on morning Joe had a melt down this AM.
MSNBC Host Flips Out Over Soda Ban Being Overturned — Accuses Soft Drink Makers Of ‘Poisoning Children’
A few of the charges and outrageous statements made this morning from the host:
•Industry groups like theater owners serve popcorn that is so full of salt it will kill you and these big drinks that you sit for two hours and drink and become sick… uh, they were elated. (:32 into the clip)
•Oh, look at this! (mocking tone) The American Beverage Association is relieved because they can continue to make money poisoning people. (:52 into the clip)
•At some point there will be a clamp down on the beverage industry, just like the cigarette industry. And they will wear a black hat. (3:53)
•Legal action will continue until they are brought down… Until they stop putting sugar, salts, and terrible fats into our food and making them addictive.
•Don’t be mad at me about that, be mad that you buy this stuff again and again and again. These companies feel like they have to produce poison for you and your children. (5:20 into the clip)
•I’m just saying, it’s killing us and it’s killing our children. It’s liquid sugar and sugar is poison. (5:40 into the clip)

Will someone please tell usa8888 that “Lian” is not a word. It’s not even slang. If he used it once, I would pass it off as an error. But he’s been using that word for months and months, before he even started on this page. If he is going to spew nonsense and chastise others for their lack of education, at least take the time to spell the word correctly.
That is all.
Don’t ‘Belittle’ My Statements!: Have Fun Watching This Uncomfortable Budget Standoff Between Fox Anchor & Dem. Rep.
Mar. 12, 2013 12:48pm Becket Adams
Fox News’ Bill Hemmer during an interview with Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) on Tuesday got into a pretty intense back-and-forth while discussing the specifics of the House Republicans’ 2014 budget proposal.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) claims the proposal isn’t simply about cutting spending. Rather, he explains, it focuses on lowering the rate of spending by approximately $5 trillion over the course of a decade. It would also create two tax brackets, thereby reducing the tax burden considerably for many Americans, and it would repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (i.e. “Obamacare”).
However, not too surprisingly, Democrats staunchly oppose Rep. Ryan’s latest proposal
During the “America’s Newsroom” interview, Hemmer went right for it and asked Rep. Van Hollen what’s wrong with Ryan’s proposed decreases in the rate of spending.
“The issue is how you achieve it, and making sure you achieve it in a way that doesn’t harm the very fragile recovery we’re having right now,” said the Maryland congressman, adding that Rep. Ryan’s approach is “lopsided and uncompromising.”
Rep. Van Hollen continued, promising that Democrats would present an alternative that would protect both the future of America’s children as well as commitments made to senior citizens.
Hemmer interjected, calling on Rep. Van Hollen to outline specific details of his party’s plan for the budget.
“It’s not talking point, it’s economics. [...] Don’t belittle statements by calling them so-called talking points. This affects people’s lives!” the congressman shot back.
Hemmer tried to move forward, citing quotes from Rep. Ryan, But Rep. Van Hollen continually cut him off.
From there, things became increasingly tense.

Five Guys Franchise Owner Says ‘Obamacare’ Will Force Him to Raise Prices
Business owners across America say they’re experiencing poor sales, holding back hiring, and planning layoffs because of “Obamacare,” or so says the Federal Reserve’s latest Beige Book (an overview of the business conditions in each of its 12 districts).
But in case you don’t trust the Beige Book’s anecdotal reporting, here’s something else to consider: Five Guys franchise holder Mike Ruffer said on Monday that the cost of The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, President Obama’s landmark healthcare bill, will force him to raise the price of burgers and hot dogs, according to the Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard.
“He will need all the profits from at least one of his eight outlets just
****
to cover his estimated added $60,000-a year in new Obamacare costs,” Bedard’s report notes.
“Any added costs are going to have to be passed on,” said Ruffer, who operates eight Five Guys in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C. area.
But wait! There’s more: Ruffer also said that he had to scrap plans to build three additional restaurants because he’s still waiting for after the Obama administration to explain all the rules and penalties involved in the healthcare bill.
“I’m kind of in a holding pattern,” said Ruffer, adding that he’s not the only franchise owner to hold back.
“Ruffer was the star witness at a Monday Heritage Foundation seminar on the impact Obamacare will have on small businesses,” Bedard notes. “He is typical of many: Because he has enough full time employees to activate the law, he faces either coughing up the money to provide health insurance or paying a fine of up to $3,000 per worker
ibsles is arguing the absurd right wing position on soda–same as Stossel argued against banning cigarettes. These people are the epitome of backward thinking and don’t realize the deleterious effects of drinking 16 teaspoons of sugar in every drink. But what do you expect–many of them are dumb enough to listen to slimebaugh. Go figure….

Applying for Obamacare Is Complicated
BY: Washington Free Beacon Staff
March 12, 2013 4:17 pm
The Health and Human Services Department released drafts of Obamacare showing that applying for health care “could be as daunting as your taxes,” according to the Associated Press:
The government’s draft application runs 15 pages for a three-person family. An outline of the online version has 21 steps, some with additional questions.
At least three major federal agencies, including the IRS, will scrutinize your application. Checking your identity, income and citizenship is supposed to happen in real time, if you apply online.
That’s just the first part of the process, which lets you know if you qualify for financial help. The government asks to see what you’re making because Obama’s Affordable Care Act is means-tested, with lower-income people getting the most generous help to pay premiums.
The enrollment period begins Oct. 1 and more than 4.3 million applications for financial assistance are expected. Additionally, proper completion of the application requires “a basic understanding of insurance jargon.” It is estimated that paper applications will take about 45 minutes to complete and the online version will take 30 minutes on average.
Hey Cathy, I forgot the slimebaugh reference.
Come on Cathy, when ya gonna say “uncle” cuz I think I got ya on this one!!!
The right wing wants to end Medicare as we know it and voucherize it–just like Lian Ryan mentioned last year. The right is content with huge increases in healthcare every 10 years. Obamacare is the solution and will begin to fix a broken system……

If people die young it will save the county money. the problem is we are living to be old. Drinkers, Fat people, smokers , an other with bad habits should not have to pay , Social security and medicare tax.
they are saving the county money, dieing young and not taking from it.
ibsles–paying the 100% increases in healthcare cost every 10 years is complicated……and the GOP is all for this.
Doug–they are not dying young enough–they are costing the tax payers a fortune….
Seriously–who was the favorite right wing comedian at the CPAC comedy convention????
Mikey O. My point is that no country since the end of the cold war has threatened to bomb the U.S. It’s a very bold move and shouldn’t be taken lightly. Can we defend against it? Yes, if we take it seriously. Which I don’t think we are. Just because China sided with U.S. on UN sanctions against North Korea doesn’t tell us China’s intent.
Both North Korea and China are expanding their military. Is that threat a test?
Liberals blow off all these military expansion, while repeatedly saying, “We are safer then ever before”. In the next breath, they are cutting U.S. military spending, downsizing our forces, downsizing our military weapons stores and downsizing military research spending.
How does a smaller military, while other are growing make us safer?
